624.04.2025genericusername10.0The Young Bucks, in my opinion, are one of the best tag teams of all time. In terms of modern tag teams, FTR, MCMG, and the Lucha Bros are the only teams that come close in pure wrestling ability, match pacing, and innovation. The Bucks at their absolute best have a supernatural ability to layout a match, and when they're clicking they get the crowd to react exactly how they need to. As heels, they are incredible at making their opponents look good. After the CM Punk drama and the EVP run where they switched up their style, it feels like they've become a bit underrated. Now that they've found a great way to meld their heel personas with their matches, these guys are set to do great work in the rest of 2025.

1302.04.2025volcano9.0the greatest tag team of all time, when I think of a tag team with excellent chemistry and always brings something to the table it's always the young bucks. people say the usos are the best and bring up young bucks and their superkicks but the usos do the same, both brothers have put on amazing matches as a singles wrestler too. amazing matches with the lucha bros, hangman and kenny, el generico and steen, and more. creditable tag team with everything needed.

2014.03.2025El Endrico6.0Okay, I guess this platform is forcing me to talk about a tag team for the first time, so here we go. What can I even say about them? They're good, really good, but why exactly? Is it the storylines they've been involved in? Their semi-innovative moveset? Or maybe the lucha libre-style acrobatics? Honestly, I don't even know. It's crazy how I never really stopped to think about a tag team basically running an entire promotion. And yeah, there's all the controversy and drama surrounding them, but at the end of the day, they do put on solid matches. The problem? It's the same moves we've seen in PWG, NJPW, and now AEW. I've been watching them for years, and at this point, I'm just bored of the same repetitive spots. Are they a great tag team? No doubt. Are they key figures in Bullet Club and AEW's creation? 100%. But man... I just can't do it anymore.

2517.02.2025Nolan Green5.0I was never a big Bucks fan, but now I really don't like them. They kick out of everything and do the same flips in every one of their matches. And while I'm not a CM Punk lover, I hate them for trying to get rid of him in AEW which they did. They've become so repetitive and boring and I think they're overrated.
2617.02.2025Keithnelson185.0Probably one of the most overrated tag teams in wrestling history, most of their matches are basically the same and they just keep spamming the super kick, the Usos do it as well, but they overuse the shit outta it. Their match also get overpraised half of the time. I will say I do enjoy some of their tag matches, but it's not a lot, I'd say I enjoy 7 or 8 of them, most of the time they're just boring and repetitive.
2716.02.2025Pcarter010.0They are without a doubt the greatest tag team to ever live. Pioneers in the business and helped put tag team wrestling on the map in more ways than one. They have two of the best tag matches of all time, with All Out 2021 Vs Lucha Brothers being my favorite tag match of all time. They won't get their flowers until they retire, but when they do i hope they get bundles of roses from everyone.

3730.12.2024goldendolphen10.0the best tag team of our generation of our time. very important and very essential not just tag team wrestling but wrestling itself. whether it was ring of honor, new japan, pwg, aew they will go down in history. not just as a tag team, but as a unit with the elite, their influence, the way they think, and the way they perform cannot be overlooked.
3830.12.2024MonkeyFacedKilla4.0Nothing they do inside or outside of the ring is believable. They don't have natural charisma or acting skills of any sort so their promo work comes off as a poor imitation of better pro-wrestlers of the 80's or 90's. Their moves are pretty clean but their matches are just too full of things like false finishes and no-selling, especially considering they're not physically impressive either (especially with their most recent EVP attires). Storyline wise, everything they do is incredibly melodramatic and childish for people nearing their 40's.
3929.12.2024Moose Nugget4.0The Young Bucks are a special indy act that performance wise probably hit their peak while in Ring of Honor. They're terrible at promos, acting, and unfortunately, we get to see a lot of that as of late. They're not good at selling, though I appreciate some of their heel work. They've had some great matches, though too often anymore their matches are so choreographed. That's not too much of a problem if you can hit your spots, and it's ugly when they don't. They also do a lot of "comedy" in wrestling, and I don't find them funny very often. They made themselves popular breaking all the rules of professional wrestling, but I think people are finding out why they were there to begin with.
4028.12.2024TPG7.0On their worst days, the Young Bucks are overrated and impulsive, and their wrestling style is unrealistic and takes me out of the vision pro wrestling is meant to behold. But on their best days, and they usually have good days, the Young Bucks are solid workers, sometimes even great. Verses Steenerico at Final Battle 2009, against FTR pretty much any time, the Revolution 2020 match; I do overall like the Young Bucks, but that being said, there's definitely room to improve. I get where the hate comes from, but to me, it's not full justified when they show just how capable they can be.

4813.11.2024maven lover1.0I feel like I should probably preface this by saying that I love AEW & that I'm rooting for them to succeed. They have, for the most part, been very successful at creating fun PPV's & memorable matches. I think that the wrestling industry is benefitted by AEW (or any federation, for that matter) being as successful as possible. Now, with all of that established, it's clear as day to me that the Young Bucks are a Cirque du Soleil troupe masquerading as a wrestling tag team. A glance through their TNA/PWG backcatalogue reveals that they haven't advanced in any way, shape or form over the course of their career, either; it's always been soft-hitting, co-operative performance art, hyper-saturated with silly, beyond-ridiculous maneuvers that don't look like they hurt at all. Their selling (when they bother to sell at all) is dreadful; "Ouch this hurts, ouch this hurts, ouch this hurts, OMG time to run into the next move like a cat on crack, fuck the fact that I was hurting 2 seconds ago, weee! ". Do I even have to explain why their promos suck? Look at any episode of Dynamite in 2024 as a prime example of how much they suck at this; they have no charisma at all, & their acting is very much akin to the poor acting featured in 2010's-era proto-Youtube pap, IE AVGN or The Nostalgia Critic. They replied to stagnating ratings in early '24 by christening themselves with this reign, only to exponentially further diminishing ratings & attendance (No, really? ). The excuses that people make for the Young Bucks are just ridiclous. They regularly make uniquely idiotic business decisions that have cost their company hundreds of thousands of viewers & millions of dollars while utilizing a style that seemingly encourages an entire incoming generation of new wrestlers to escew the most basic, vital fundamentals of what constitutes a wrestling match, & people go "Don't worry, that's just because they're amazing trolls whom are the most influential & innovative tag team of all time." People give them accolades like that, & yet, their style isn't even innovative. There have been numerous tag teams throughout time that have delved into the world of flamboyant dress &/or a focus on aero-dynamic moves; the only difference is that the Young Bucks add in a bunch of Cirque du Soleil leaps, a complete lack of selling & psychology, shitty, low-quality brawling for the filler moments they aren't leaping around like circus animals, uniquely terrible cringy character work & promos, & cranking the flamboyant dress up to 11, ultimately hoping that all this stupid bullshit miraculously strikes up people that, for whatever reason, will go "Well, actually, this stupid bullshit actually makes them really great! , " when in reality, the Young Bucks are poor businessmen, whose wrestling is shit. They've even found it fit to vouch for other subpar talents within AEW; Rick Knox (whom ignored a legitimately unconcious worker for an extended number of minutes, & allowed Jon Moxley to work an entire match severely concussed, leading to the Grand Slam 2023 botch), Brandon Cutler (whom is agonizingly unfunny & hasn't wrestled a good match since 1952), & Aubrey Edwards (whom is Aubrey Edwards). I love AEW, but the Young Bucks truly are the wrestling equivalent of being a victim in a Human Centipede movie.

5431.10.2024Mwrp4.0If wrestling operated like an occasional athletic showcase, where shows took place every three months with minimal story and a focus purely on athleticism, then the Young Bucks would shine as phenomenal performers. They've achieved something remarkable for high-flyers in pro wrestling typically beloved faces throughout wrestling history by being intensely hateable heels. Their style worked perfectly in NJPW, where fans often tune in primarily for the big events. Over time, though, the Bucks have shown little growth or adaptation. Their high-octane, heel persona was effective in NJPWs sporadic format, but the constant, weekly grind of AEWs televised programming has exposed some issues. Watching their style week after week has a "fancy caviar every day" effect; what was once impressive now feels repetitive. Their in-ring style, especially in the early days, was almost revolutionary, as they delivered high-risk moves in nearly every match. They were pioneers in going all out, but this also means that newer wrestlers, many of whom they inspired, are now doing the same moves only faster, sharper, and with fresher energy. As for ring psychology, its largely absent in their matches, and thats not necessarily a flaw. The Young Bucks have always embodied the wrestling as sport and spectacle philosophy, which leaves little room for traditional storytelling. They stand as catalysts of change, pushing wrestling away from the old-school approach and emphasizing high spots and athletic display. While they've driven positive changes in locker room culture and a shift toward a modern style, they're also emblematic of the limitations of sticking rigidly to one ideology, as they've struggled to adapt in an evolving wrestling landscape.
5530.10.2024Saladbagel5.0The Young Bucks are genuinely mid, although to their credit, they know how to market themselves and hang out with others for an insanely lucrative career. However, I'm only rating them based on their matches. Personally, I'm not into indieriffic matches where selling is non-existent and psychology is just as lacking. They can do some nice callbacks to previous matches, but the Young Bucks are otherwise quite forgettable, especially compared to the people they surround themselves with (Omega, Cody, etc.).
5628.10.2024bnummer9.0
5727.10.2024punkybrewster961.0Overpushed and overhyped indy darlings. They've had some good matches but most of their matches look phony and absurd. Their decisions as EVP's are even worse than their wrestling. They're not believable as being physically imposing. They cater to Dave Meltzer so much that it's cringey. The only reason I didn't rate them a 0 is because of their matches with Omega. Without their association with Omega, they are nothing more than mid-card. They are a little bit more believable as smarmy heels if they had a decent manager, but their promos are garbage and contrived and the tough guy act is ridiculous. You could almost hear the fans change the channel and audibly scoff when they appear on television. I guess as long as the half a million people who still watch their show, the billionaire will keep throwing money away for the sake of his friends.
5818.10.2024JackBurtonsTruck Lacking in the majority of skills it takes to be good, the bucks just seem to be friends with people and can ride their coattails. Promo skills? None. Likability? Not at all. In ring skill? Nothing but jumps. Sell and help other acts get over? Absolutely not. There is nothing redeeming or worthwhile about them. I have tried to understand the appeal and I just dont get it. Ive gone back and watched as many of their so called amazing matches and not once have I felt any entertainment from it. Their high score here is baffling to me.

6015.10.2024sethsanta1610.0When it comes to tag team wrestling, only a few teams can preform sufficient double team moves while being innovative and having ground breaking chemistry. Teams that come to mind include the Usos, The Hardy Boyz, FTR, #DIY, and the only other team that is on these levels (if not higher) is the Young Bucks. Their movesets are insane and they can work as both heels and faces. This is an insane team that is great at what they do. Tag Team wrestling at its finest

6312.10.2024Willie 192008.0They were a great tag team that has kinda fallen off. They used to be really fun and wild and awesome but now, with the new EVP gimmick, it just doesn't click for me. I don't like gimmicks where it's "If you don't like them it's working." They're just kinda stale and not what they used to be. But overall I can't deny how talented they are and the amount of amazing tag team matches they put on. They're feud with FTR, The Lucha Bros. and Jurassic Express were really fun and I can't deny how fun they are to watch in the ring. Overall solid tag team, but I miss the old gimmick. I also really miss BTE.

8126.08.2024Nudle6.0I have never been huge on The Young Bucks, but I've always been able to recognize their talent and abilities to get themselves over, but over the last two years or so they've been falling off badly. I think it may be due to overexposure, as while the things they CAN do they do very well, they aren't too great at versatility and stepping outside of that range, and the result is basically the same thing over and over either weekly or monthly for 5 years.
8222.08.2024BULLETCLUB4EVER10.0I don't know the why of low ratings. They are pure magic, one of the few REAL tag team of the last 10 years. Two brothers, full alchemy, great technician. One of the best tag team of last 20 years.

9131.07.2024JPowers105.0Not my style of wrestling, too much acrobatics and false finishes, not tons of storytelling in Young Bucks matches. I'm only talking about their wrestling abilities and not who they are as people because I believe in separating the art from the artist.

9424.07.2024Joe90710.0One of the greatest tag team of all time. Their chemistry is insanely good. Their double team moves are awesome. PWG, ROH, AEW, or wrestling in Japan, they've always been the best tag team around. Both of them are very talented. I like Nick's high flying, and Matt's skills in the ring are very great. The meltzer driver and more bang for your buck are some of the best finishers ever.

9715.07.2024Trombek Kushinika7.0A controversial rating here so I will try not to get all Cult of Cornette. Once you have seen these two a few times they have nothing left to give. Ok, they have some impressive acrobatic moves but they lose their shine after youve seen them done over and over again. I find their matches often lack basic psychology and have a tendency to bury to referee. At least they always use the same ref for their matches so its only one ref that looks like a jabrone. I give them a 7 based solely on their style and movez. Was tempted to give them lower.
9811.07.2024Anoas7.0
9910.07.2024Dntbamark4.0It's hard to deny the impact that the Young Bucks have had on the business, more specifically on the indy scene where they are seen as legends. Their matches are overly choreographed spot-fests with no sense of psychology that often come across as fake and phony. They're athletic enough to make the matches work and they've been going together as a unit for over 20 years at this point and I can see how some people can find them entertaining. I unfortunately just don't, I respect their work but they are just not my cup of tea.
