310.04.2024TripleCrown8.0They've had a lot of great matches throughout the years and really elevated themselves into a main event level team. I know people like to dunk on them, and sometimes they do deserve it, but they're not the worst tag team to ever make it in professional wrestling. They can wrestle, they're athletic, decent on the mic, have a bit of charisma, they're just a very solid team. However, I don't think you could ever confidently say you're one of the best teams ever without at least having one run in WWE. These guys could absolutely do it and really become "superstars" if they were to do so, until then I really can't give them anything other than an 8. Not all guys need to go to WWE to become a legend or a big name, but I feel like if you're a tag team... you've gotta have a run there, at least once.

829.03.2024YourKingMob4.0You ever go to a bar where there is a cover band playing? Sure, we all have. But imagine this band is incredibly tight, so skilled but only play the worst songs from that band they are covering's back catalogue. And they play it as loud as possible while yelling at the crowd angrily between sets. That's The Young Bucks. A tag team of nerdy youth pastors that saw The Rockers and said "hey, let's BOTH be a foot shorter version of Shawn Michaels! " while in reality, they are actually just two Marty Jannettys. They are tiny, egotistical geeks who constantly pick fights outside of wrestling that they always lose. But, they are the "Vader" of the late 10's / early 20's in that they precipitated the wildest changes in wrestling in a generation. Their selling and in-ring antics are more suitable for comedy wrestling, though. I'd rate them lower, and they are bigots, but I really can't go too low considering that they haven't murdered or SA-ed anyone (that we know of). They also aren't the worst influence in their dying pro wrestling org - that's reserved for Jericho.

1016.03.2024dysboat5.0I think I get why these guys are as popular as they are, at least to some extent, but there's very little about them that appeals to me. The Young Bucks are a tag team that epitomizes the popular in-ring style of the 2010s indie scene - fast paced, stunt-centric matches laden with complex spots and flashy sequences. Basically every fundamental convention of wrestling is kind of absent in most Young Bucks matches, you're not going to see much heat, or anything really resembling a babyface/heel dynamic, and you'll probably see some overt cooperation between opponents. It probably won't feel like there's much animosity between the contestants, or like there's even really a competition happening in the ring. In most cases, the best you can hope to see from this team is a visually engaging exhibition of moves and stunts, and the ability of the audience to suspend their disbelief or engage emotionally with the match is sacrificed for the sake of achieving same. Luckily, that's enough for your average indie show attendee from the 2010s, but I don't think the Young Bucks function well as a fixture of a weekly televised wrestling product. There are a lot of fundamental aspects of wrestling and its presentation that they struggle with. In the right context and with the right opponent, they're definitely capable of a more functional wrestling match, but they've never been able to convince me that they know how to present themselves or how to get themselves over with anybody for whom they haven't already.

1607.03.2024Ozzy5.0The most overrated team in tag team history. Just an annoying fun sucking piece of modern wrestling that shows the decline of the buisness as a whole. They just spit in the face of sting with this last storyline the whole way through and their current gimmick is 2000s WCW crap. Them being the highlight of a deflating tag devision now strikes me as a low point in the buisness.

2203.03.2024TVC154.0They have go away heat with me. Regardless of Sting asking for it, I'm completely uninterested in Sting's final match due to The Young Bucks involvement. At this point in their careers they need to fully own being power-abusing heels and stop begging for "their flowers." The waffling between trying to be bad guys and out of kayfabe asking for more respect does nothing for them. I could probably get behind at least boo'ing them if they committed to being hated, because they are serviceable in the ring. It's just too obvious that they still insist upon being seen as "cool heels, " so it ruins whatever aura they are trying to impress upon the audience. I've seen them wrestle live and don't even remember anything from the match except Brandon Cutler centering himself by spraying them and The Hardys with compressed air.

2714.02.2024Unright2.0I like how every Young Bucks match tells a story. It tells the story of "The Young Bucks were booked to win". They even get their opponents to help them tell that story because their opponents inevitably stop trying to win themselves and actively set up spots so that the Young Bucks win. Like the spot where their opponent stands around dazed for up to a minute while the Young Bucks pander to the crowd for way too long before they launch themselves in an unnecessary dive that nobody will bother to sell. Or the spot where opponents will visibly drop their character so the Young Bucks can try to hit a convoluted double-team move that just doesn't work. Sometimes it doesn't work because they botch the move badly, but sometimes it doesn't work because that sort of spot doesn't make sense in the "all wrestlers are trying to win" sense. But then you remember that the story of the match is "The Young Bucks were booked to win" and it's all okay. When things go bad they can just steal what made other people popular for the cheap pop from people that vote 10. Too bad that they try to pass themselves off as wrestlers, though.

3010.02.2024AK1WA10.0The Young Bucks are without a shadow of a doubt, the greatest tag team of all-time. Their longevity is legitimately unheard of in pro- wrestling. No ones match catalogue look as great as theirs, it's incredible. Easily the best junior tag team in NJPW history and also they have clearly the Best AEW tag title reign ever. Lucha Bros vs Bucks is the best Cagematch ever. They also have the Blood and Guts match, historic best of 7 series, Anarchy in the Arena and then the premiere match against FTR in Wembley on their resume. Without them their is no legit alternative so therefore you could argue they are the most important/influential tag team of all-time.

3622.01.2024MichaelDavis10.0The Young Bucks are much smarter than people give them credit for. They branded Bullet Club in such a way that made it hit the mainstream in the mid to late 2010s and they aided in the existence of AEW. They have made their fair share of mistakes, but nobody is perfect. They will most likely go down as one of the greatest tag teams of all time, and I hope their current gimmick of leaning in to the mixed reactions of the crowd goes as well as I think it might.

5008.12.2023danzitorock10.0One of the greatest tag teams of all time, no doubt about that. This guys are very talented and have a lot of chemistry together. It's so amazing what they've accomplished so far, it really puts them into any mount rushmore of tag team wrestling, period. Very important tag for the modern wrestling scenario.

5303.12.2023crs2858.0Young Bucks are good in the ring as they have a fun high-flying style and have worked on their selling and psychology skills. They have charisma and they are great at using social media to get over. Much better as the heels than faces.
5428.11.2023skillgull8.0The young bucks are a lot like Taylor Swift to me. There good, however not as good as fans of them say. While I can't deny their impact on the industry, I just prefer other teams and find other teams to be better then them. I disagree with Cornette in how they are just a bunch of spot monkeys as their not. They've had some truly great matches, however I believe that their are better tags teams both all time and current. I have loved some of their matches, however I just prefer other tags teams.
5519.11.2023TheEnigmatic16.0Ever SInce i First saw the young bucks I could admit they can have good matches but other than that they are very boring IMO and their past 2 years in AEW have been meh IMO with generic boring storylines that blend together and having the same styles of matches over and over again. They are no longer the best tag team in the world and haven't been in several years, they were a good addition to aew in the beginning years but after all the controversy i'll admit they get on my nerves more and more as they appear on my screen.

6225.10.2023Vanstyler10.0Banger team. They're the best spotfest duo no doubt about it, and every match they wrestle is fun as hell. At this point is hard to even tell a negative point about these guys... maybe they're a little goofy sometimes, but it's part of the charm, love them

7122.09.2023ECWCWWEAEW8.0There's nothing wrong with the Young Bucks. They barely ever have bad matches. However, they dont seem nearly as charismatic or endearing to me as they do for a lot of others. People want to argue ring psychology but by its very nature, any psychology has different ways of convention. So their problem is to me nothing more than some times the come across as uninteresting for flat, while still being outstanding wrestlers. They work more than they fail, they just dont ever win me over when they talk, just when the tell a great story in ring
7221.09.2023CorpusSkiptotelicum10.0The Young Bucks are by far the most important tag team of all time, it doesnt matter how much corn bots want to deny it, its just fact. They're also the most prolific tag, with a body of work that is second to none. And that body is also more varied than any other team's, no matter what kind of match you can think of, they've done it. Classic tags, multimans, cage matches, ladder matches, any other type of gimmick match, serious, comedy, absurd, and some of the most polished and insane spotfests youll ever see. It is also true that sometimes they get complacent and rely too much on spotty matches, and look I get it, if you dont like that style then those matches arent for you, but that doesnt erase everything else they've done. They absolutely can tell stories both in and out of the ring, and again, if you dont like the style of how they do it that's fine, sometimes they can get a little overdramatic even for me, but its those stories they told that attracted people to BTE and laid the foundation for the first serious alternative to WWE in decades. They have been an overwhelmingly positive influence of pro wrestling, its actually criminally insane how low their rating here is.

8724.08.2023Foxmagic3 4/10. Sorry, very flashy and athletic. Great looking moves but the actions look incredibly choreographed. Since wrestling is supposed to be suspending your disbelief and making the cooperative match look somewhat believable, the Bucks don't do that for me. Very creative at making themselves over, but one match of them is all of their matches.
8817.08.2023ViolenceBret7.0Any criticism you could make about the Young Bucks, they'd turn it around and make a T-shirt out of it. You need to give them credit for their ability to sell products. Nick and Matt Jackson are essentially sons of The Rockers. However, it is a rare "double Jannetty" situation in terms of charisma. To be more direct, The Young Bucks are like those weird kids your parents forced you to be friends with from church. Not bad people, you don't particularly hate them, there aren't any red-flags. Yet you can only hang out with them for an hour roughly once a month or else you'll get irritable. Oh the kids from church are popular, they have a tight circle, but you're never really invited to their parties. On a rare chance you do go, they just put a Marvel movie on in the background and awkwardly tell the extended family to stay away as the "friends are here Mom! " Once you've been to one super kick party, you've been to them all. Abstract analogies aside, The Young Bucks aren't so bad. The greatest tag-team of all time? Unlikely, but there is talent here. They need some restraint, but they work as smarmy little buggers. 7.4/10.

9010.08.2023MDavis200110.0They have been getting some unwarranted hate from the Cornette dick smokers as of late, but The Young Bucks have lost something over the years. From 2014 to 2018 they were 100% the number one team in the world who everyone, including the now FTR, were dying to against. Undeniably influential and one of the best tag teams of all time.

9712.07.2023JSouthard200510.0The zero psychology argument doesnt work. Its just to desecrate because people arent fans of flippy shit. The young bucks are the masters of flippy shit and have improved psychologically. They are one of the best tag teams in the world for a reason. They gave the varsity blondes a decent match for christs sake.
9812.07.2023NickJammer22214.0I can take them in multi man tag matches as we see them less and they can have some exciting moments in their matches. However, they have 0 psychology, tend to rely on obviously planned and rehearsed spots and have never improved in their time in the ring. In 2023 I don't think they have meant less since they were in TNA.

10010.07.2023Rami10.0the best tag team in the world bar none, Idc what anyone says, these two gave us some of the best tag matches ever, constantly deliver, are very charismatic, and their matches are more than just flips if you put the effort to say beyond that
