905.08.2024cal909910.0Absolute banger of a tournament, the likes of which we'll probably never see again. While this didn't have any 5* matches it just had an absolute tonne of great matches and a bunch that narrowly missed the 5* mark. Incredibly consistent across the board (averaging ***3/4 for me across the tournament). How I wish I could watch this all again for the first time.

1607.12.2023Okaro14310.0This was one of the best G1 and one of the best tournaments of all time. Most matches were good, some were really great and a few were really just incredible. Ospreay ( his debut in G1) was my MVP; Other top performers in order of overall best matches: Ibushi, Okada, Takagi (also his first G1) and Ishii; Lance and Moxley also had a great G1 debut. Ibushi deserves the win. My Top 5 favourite matches of the tournament in order 1) Okada Vs Ospreay (*****), 2) Ibushi Vs Jay White (*****), 3) Shingo Takagi Vs Ishii (*****), 4) Naito Vs Takagi (****3/4) and 5) Ospreay Vs Ibushi (****3/4)

5116.08.2019TOUGH AND HARD9.0A superb tournament and one of the company's finest ever, marred slightly by Block Finals matches that failed to live up to past standards, and a Finale that featured the right winner but injected far too much sports-entertainment bullshit into what is historically a serious sports league.

5314.08.2019NEVERoverweightChampion10.0As always the G1 is a really exciting tournament where everybody can come out of it looking better. A lot of story, a lot of drama, different types of matches and an intense final. (and a great angle the day of the final) The blocks were way more balanced compared to last year and it showed, this year was more consistent. Overall it's probably my favorite G1.

5812.08.2019PuroresuLover10.0Awesome G1 with a lot of MOTYC and other good matches, it was amazing. Despite Jeff Cobb flopping and not having guys like YOSHI-HASHI, Minoru Suzuki & Satoshi Kojima, this G1 was nothing else but great.
