[10.0] "This was the best tournament I've ever seen. Almost every match was a banger and there were many 5 star matches. Even some of the less talked about matches were amazing. I remember watching Ishii vs Goto with a friend, and just watching a blow away match and my friend goes "They never left the ring for the entire match".... I had never noticed. The finals were amazing and Okada was great too in this. Everything was great. I'll never forget this time in NJPW"

Okadas depression played against the rise of Jay White and the surprising domination of Tanahashi kept the entire tournament engaging"

[10.0] "Block B was excellent and a little better than Block A. Tanahashi won which at the time I thought was not the right decision as I had preferred Ibushi or Naito, it was still an incredible tournament. One of the greatest Wrestling tournament in history of Professional Wrestling for me. My five favorite matches from the tournament. 1) Ibushi vs Omega (*****) 2) Ibushi Tanahashi (*****) 3) Omega Ishii (*****) 4) Ibushi Ishii (****3/4) & 5) Okada Tanahashi (****3/4). MVP:- Ibushi."

[8.0] "Definitely a good tournament, but I think it's very overrated. Block B was incredible, but block A was very lagging behind and spoiling the experience. The final was incredible and very emotional, which was not the case in 2019 and 2020."

[10.0] "The greatest tournament in wrestling history, peaking with the finale bout, the most complete professional wrestling match of all time - Tanahashi vs Ibushi."

[9.0] "Awesome tournament with one of the best payoff in the history of the tournament but the blocks were not well balanced, letting Okada having practically to carry the A block on his own while being in a slump storywise so it was more difficult to have more convincing nights on the side of the A block but they still did good. Overall we had a lot of story development (the one with all the Bullet Club DQ finishes was bad though) and many great matches as always so still a very good tournament. B block was (maybe too) stacked."

[10.0] "Not the best G1 Climax because of the 27th edition. But it was awesome and the winner of A Block was surprising, everyone thought that would be Kazuchika Okada. NJPW really knows how to surpreend someone."

[10.0] "Block A had Tana & Okada so obviously it was pretty good but Block B was insane, every B show had at least two really good matches I don? t know if there will ever be a better block in match quality. The Tongan DQs were annoying but after a while you knew what was coming. Overall an incredible tournament probably the best month of wrestling I? ve ever seen"

[9.0] "It was a great G1. But the last days felt extrange. Maybe the disappointment of Omega vs Ibushi, i don't know. A good point is the winner, the storyline of the Ace comeback to the ME is great. And it's important to say it was others storylines in all this G1, and we had awesome matches, and good expositions of wrestlers."

[9.0] "The 2018 G1 Climax had a lot of matches that ranged from great to beyond incredible, and the best matches of the 2018 G1 were better than the best matches of any previous G1. But it also had a ton of crap as well, with the Firing Squad garbage stinking up the joint to an absurd degree. Because of that, I can't give the 2018 G1 a 10."

[10.0] "The top matches were so dramatic. Beautiful rivalries and the most unpredictable final in years were enough to earn a 10 rating despite the DQ fest from Firesquad. Group B was the best group ever in a tournament a Tana and Okada made another classic."

[10.0] "Yet another remarkable tournament. Every year this is my most anticipated series of shows in professional wrestling and this year was no exception. Phenomenal showings from guys at the top of the card, and the resume that New Japan has amassed in terms of quality matches in recent years grows only bigger."
