[2.0] "Luther Reigns. Was he good in the ring? No, not at all. Was he good on the mic? Oh fuck no. Has he had peas before? Yes, so that must count for something."

[6.0] "Giant leap from Horshu to Luther Reigns. Horshu showed potential but also seemed a bit out of place, plus. yknow THE NAME (and haircut. sheesh). Luther Reigns came in and immediately fit in ~ almost to a fault. A high profile and lack of tattoos helped. "Why did a lack of tattoos help? " Kept him from being compared even closer to Batista or *shudders* Tyson Tomko. I liked Luther! His moveset, his pacing, he did ok! He only did ok, well. a bit better but he still plateaued abruptly then was gone. 6.25"

[9.0] "Luther Reigns was strong, imposing, and hard working in the ring, and whilst his namesake did a lot better years later, this guy needs more respect on his name in my opinion"

[1.0] "Matthew Robert Wiese was a heavy for the Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle and 6 years of independents at that point. He was a muscles man and got a limitation to go in-ring. He had no real ring gear as he missed the appeal to color himself up, I mean he had zero personality. Stale bread is more exciting. He took less of a sugar honey ice tea enough to give up wrestling after two years in WWE and two years on the off chance Indy audience."

[1.0] "Luther Reigns, despite having the look of a dominant force, left very little lasting impact on the wrestling industry. His WWE run was brief and largely forgettable, with his most notable stretch being as Kurt Angle's silent muscle during the SmackDown General Manager era. Even then, he was a background player, rarely showing anything beyond a generic scowl and occasional short promos. Once that role ended, so did most of his relevance on television. He lacked the in-ring presence, charisma, and storytelling ability to stand out, especially in a roster stacked with more well-rounded talent. Outside WWE, Reigns didn't do much to redefine himself or prove the company had missed the mark. The commitment may have been there physically, but creatively and performatively, he was never more than a filler act. Even his attempts at post-wrestling commentary on the industry feel more interesting than his actual wrestling career. As a performer, he didn't connect, didn't evolve, and ultimately faded from the scene without much notice."

[2.0] "It felt like he just suddenly showed up out of nowhere & went on to do very little. I guess his biggest claim to fame was as part of Angle's group while Angle was nursing an injury. I can't recall any of his matches & feel like he simply never made an impact."

[3.0] "Another big body from the 2005-2006 era. Kind of like Matt Morgan, just there and didn't really stand out."

[2.0] "A giant ruthless aggression signing that did not pan out. Like the other from his era, he did not show a lot of potential or growth. I most remember he for his bad interruption of Big Show's Thanksgiving not anything from the ring where he was pretty underwhelming."

[3.0] "While Luther was slightly better than the likes of Heidenreich, Snitsky, and Nathan Jones because he had a cool finisher, he had nothing else going for him except his look. Your typical Ruthless Aggression era hoss."

[6.0] "I liked Luther and really feel like he could have achieved more than he did. I still remember the tremendous promo he cut on Undertaker before their match at No Way Out. He had a very surprising intensity to him, but he never really got the chance to see if he could live up to his potential."

[6.0] "He was an adequate big man power wrestler in the ring. Nothing special but nothing offensive either. Plus, he's had peas b'fo, and there's no business like 'shu business."

[3.0] "Initially a product of the WCW Power Plant, Horshu/Luther Reigns had the kind of look and build that major wrestling companies went for in the early 2000s, and his adequate power-based ring work made him effective as a bodyguard character or heavy in a stable. He was never able to really break out on his own, though, and after leaving WWE over creative differences in 2005 he only made a couple of in-ring appearances before retiring."
