2 | 15.04.2025 | WrestlingBull | 2.0 | Kazuyuki Fujita is the definition of what's everything wrong with washed up old farts in wrestling, no matter the country, America or Japan at the end of the day it's the same thing. Dude is 54, way past his prime, don't draw a dime and yet keep acting like he is above everyone with his constant no sell even against top champions and dudes bigger than him both in size and resume / place on the card. He refuses to put over anyone and only lose by roll-up but only after making sure his opponents look like enormous geeks in the process. |

12 | 21.06.2024 | Dakota369 | 7.0 | A real decisive, if not controversial, wrestler more so of because what he represents in the context of his era. He is the embodiment of Inoki-ism that bleached into the new era, someone has hold that old head mentality, not taking budging at all for bumps, forcing you to give it everything in order to overcome him. On one hand that is literally the definition of based, a beast that dominates over any opponent no matter win or lost in this era, insanely stiff punts that is disgusting honestly, crazy backdrops, this is like what every puro head would in theory be obsessed with. On the other hand, he definitely is a nightmare to book and really come off as "showing no respect and care" even if that's just his style. Him winning GHC over Nakajima was such horrible decision it honestly not just tarnished his reputation but also NOAH for the last few years as a whole. So really, a mixed bag here, really depends on his mood if he would deliver or complete tanks. |

14 | 10.12.2023 | EleceRock | 8.0 | An absolute beast that gives that "dark souls boss" vibe everytime he's in the ring. You know any wrestler who faces him in a serious match is going to get his ass kicked and that's make most of his matches very entertaining to watch. |

People say he lacks charisma and theyre liars. What man have you seen drink hand sanitizer, swallow it, look disgusted and then drink it again and spit it on Go Shiozaki. He made a 30 minute staredown entertaining. Hes great and should be more celebrated. |
19 | 09.08.2023 | Shadow Explosion | 10.0 | Kazuyuki Fujita is one of the all time greatest wrestlers and I'm sick of people pretending he's not because he's old. There are many reasons why I love Ol' Ironhead; He makes me care during holds. That's a tremendous accomplishment in my eyes because that's apparently such a rare ability of a pro wrestler, to make working holds or rest holds interesting, because he fights in them, he doesn't just lay there, he strikes back. And his grappling transitions are always fun to watch too. His striking ability is fantastic, his Beast Bomb is a top 5 powerbomb of all time, his punts are disgusting as fuck but they always make me jump out of my seat. He has an aura of this unbeatable monster like an actual godzilla. Fujita much like Shibata is a prime example of "Strong Style", not "Inoki-ism" because that's not a wrestling style, that's a booking style. And honestly? Inoki booked Fujita like shit. Everyone thinks Fujita was Inoki's boy but based off his IWGP World title runs, that's far from the truth. It's a real shame he didn't peak until much later in his career, his NOAH run has been so much fun, his Staredown with Go Shiozaki, his GHC National Title Run, His GHC World Title victory which was sadly undercut by him getting infected by COVID-19. I personally hope they do something with his tag team with Masato Tanaka as I think them and Axiz could help bolster the GHC Heavyweight Tag titles. Kazuyuki Fujita is not everyone's cup of tea, but he fits what I love about professional wrestling, how violent it can get, how these monsters feel larger than life, how unbeatable they feel when they fight our resilient heroes. Kazuyuki Fujita is Professional Wrestling to me. |

23 | 19.01.2023 | ElegantImpact | 3.0 | I don't know where this revionist history that Fujita was ever any good has come from? Is it just NOAH fans that don't want to accept anything in NOAH can be bad? Fujita is controversial, done more harm than good with his behaviour in the past, and for in ring, the Goldberg comparisons are accurate. And even then, outside the 2004 Tanahashi and Shibata matches, I'd say Goldberg's match catalogue is more interesting than Fujita's. |
24 | 12.12.2022 | JUmbo Akiyama | 10.0 | Fujita is a cool monster who kills everything in his path, who pleases me every time with his singles matches, his ability to make history in the ring outside of him is invaluable. In the ring, he is still doing smart methodical work to destroy opponents, it's not spam with all the chips, it's smart work that makes him a smart killer. I am very glad that I discovered it for myself. |
25 | 20.11.2022 | Heavy | 9.0 | It's not a big deal to say that Kaz Fujita is a controversial figure but aside of his part time booking during most of his carreer, he is a good yes for me. He is not a guy about long main-event with quick reversals sequences, numerous falses finish but a sprint worker where the intensity, sense of urgency and aura he bring to the table by his reputation as legit shooter and his brutal work is unmatched. A win over Fujita is significant. And even if his opponent fail to pass him , they come out as tough as nail in the processus (see his match against Shibata, Tanahashi, Taniguchi.) |
26 | 19.10.2022 | TheOneAndOnlyCactus | 3.0 | Even in his prime, Fujita was never that good as a wrestler. He's sort of like a Japanese Goldberg. He works best in small doses where he can be intense with his kicks and holds, but dear Lord do not put him in the ring for too long otherwise his stuff gets old very quickly. |

35 | 25.02.2022 | killowenskill | 9.0 | "Old men" at one time saved entire promotions that needed stars, puro has always been built and is being built on the struggle of generations, but fans who grew up on the WWE booking create the appearance of a problem and insult wrestlers because of achievements after a certain age, trying to sell it not as a subjective opinion, but as a problem that hits the popularity of the product, which is very funny and makes them ashamed. In fact: Kazuyuki Fujita is one of the most outstanding big men today, whose matches are full of realism, and the content with him is mandatory to watch under any conditions. His recent duel with Masato Tanaka is one of the best draws in modern realities, and this is with the fucking fact that Fujita was sharpening under other realities and with priority in short, but spectacular matches. He didn't raise any questions or criticism from anyone after returning to the mainstream field, but as soon as he took the GHC championship, he immediately became a mediocre and overrated old man killing the industry. But, the main thing is that hyperbolized big matches don't kill her, like the lack of intelligent selling from a number of performers of the new generation, yeah. |
36 | 24.02.2022 | Moxicity209 | 0.0 | Overrated old man wrestler that does literally nothing good at all in the ring, but still somehow gets so many cult following. Puro nerds are so strange. That match with Go Shiozaki, the staring contest, was 1 of the 2 bad matches that Go had in quite sometime. The other one being the Keiji Mutoh(fellow old man garbage wrestler) match. If you can't have a good match then you're probably a bad wrestler imo |

He brought his all against anyone, anywhere and was a key member of PRIDE's Heavyweight roster. Possibly the must durable and resilient fighter in MMA history but good might be a stretch. He didn't actually do anything that well, even for his era. He was primarily a wrestler but his takedown game early in fights left a lot to be desired. His stand up was stiff and telegraphed, even though he stunned Fedor once. His strategy was basically "If you wear out before I do I'm going to beat up on your faded ass later in the fight. I'll also take your best shots and just keep coming to get the fight to that point". He's one of my all time favorites regardless. His skull is an adamantium-coated nokia phone. |

51 | 20.02.2021 | Ma Stump Puller | 8.0 | Fujita is probably one of the shining examples of Inokism, both in a good way and a bad way. Guy is a legit beast and some of the stiff exchanges he's had in the past are more than entertaining: not the most varied in terms of technical work but he doesn't really need to be when he can murder you with simple blows and holds. Not all of his matches were hits, however, and if the other guy isn't willing to play ball or isn't really a stiff striker themselves, it can be hard to get into. Fujita isn't and was never gonna be a era-defining ace or carrying mediocre guys to great bouts BUT he's a amazingly intense performer that when paired with guys that can pace themselves around his short and snappy style can be really solid in ring and have surprisingly strong storytelling. If he was in his prime these days I think people would have a far more positive outlook on him, because while he wasn't as talented as guys like Kojima or other main eventers at the time, he had (and still has) a unique aura of menace about him. |

67 | 07.10.2018 | RatingsMachine | 3.0 | Of the three sets of comments previously made about Fujita, one is the stuff of fantasy. 70 | 27.11.2014 | GD | 10.0 | I really dont get the hate against Fujita. Its the same thing that WWE did with Lesnar. Inoki bulid him and send him to PRIDE, in order to have a legitimate wrestler who would be the IWGP champion in the future. Back in 2000, during the MMA boom period in japan, puroresu fans turned into PRIDE. So what Inoki did, is used one of NJPW's young lions, and a REAL wrestler, to get into fighting, gain people's respect and then bring him back, alongside with the fans. AND IT HAPPENED ! That's why NJPW had dome EVENTS in every year, until 2005. When Inoki left, NJPW just had the january 4th show, and the first one post-Inoki, had an attendance of only 18000 ! And as far as Fujita's skills are concerned, he is capable of having amazing matches. Check out his matches against Nagata, Tanahashi, Shibata. They were awesome. And the fans LOVED him ! All in all, my point is that, not only he was good in the ring (NJPW or PRIDE) but he served his purpose perfectly.... bringing the fans back to New Japan. |

72 | 13.02.2014 | Leone | 4.0 | Fine, he's a wrestler who went on to have success in MMA, but as a pro wrestler, I don't think he's worth it. A former 3-time IWGP champion, who held the belt for a total of 478 days, and defended it a total of 3 times... not particularly impressive. I know that Inoki had a HHH/Randy Orton relationship with him, and therefore booked him to look strong. But his matches are only okay if they're under 10 minutes, and compared to many other IWGP champions, he's not in the same league of in-ring quality. |
