714.09.2025Brutish Dandy6.0The okayest wrestler ever. If someone told me that Chavo Guerrero Jr. was their favorite wrestler I'd be surprised but I wouldn't doubt they were being genuine. His WCW and early WWE run was unironically great stuff... and then he just kinda fell off a cliff sometime around the Kerwin White era and never really regained his footing. Still had a killer theme, though.
808.09.2025bherbert19808.0Chavo Guerrero Jr. is a talented and technically sound wrestler who often found himself overshadowed by bigger stars, including within his own family. His in-ring work is crisp and reliable, and he can adapt to various styles, from cruiserweight action to more grounded matches. His character work was competent, though most memorable with Eddie. While he may be seen as more of a supporting player than a standout star, Chavo is a respected veteran who could have been given a better push than he was

2004.06.2025Lucha Robin7.0Chavo wasn't just riding the coattails of the Guerrero name; he was doing backflips off them. A solid in-ring technician with great timing, smooth lucha-inspired offense, and a sneaky heel persona that always made you yell at the screen like, "CHAVO, NO! " (followed by, "Okay, maybe.") His time with Los Guerreros alongside Eddie? Comedy gold. They lied, they cheated, they stole--and we loved every second of it. That whole "We're not cheating, we're strategizing" vibe was peak early-2000s brilliance. And who could forget Kerwin White--Chavo's very brief, very awkward foray into golf carts, khakis, and identity crisis? It was... a swing and a miss, but we appreciate the effort, buddy.

3613.10.2024Conquistador3710.0Original Comment left on Aug 13th 2022: Chavo is one of those "all time most underrated/under appreciated" kinda wrestlers. Being overshadowed by his uncle Eddie is a fact I feel others put far too much stock into - why? Because almost EVERY wrestler EVER is overshadowed by Eddie Guerrero! Chavo has always been very smooth and possesses a great looking dropkick. He kept in top condition over his career and never seemed to "phone it in". Chavo was also always able to adapt to his opponents pace & style; a trait I feel should have given him more opportunities, but I also realize he was on the short side and that always hurt one's chances during his era. Fun stuff in WCW's midcard; mixing it up with the other luchadores and holding his own, fond memories of "Pepe" as well. The Misfits in Action was silly, but I have an obvious soft spot for the guy and it was nice seeing him get more air time during dying days WCW (solid tag matches with partner Corporal Cajun). His time in WWE is mostly known for the team of "Los Guerreros" (which was just an AWESOME tag team) and his more methodical approach in WWECW (good stuff that should be revisited). Chavo at his worst was "just another body" and the Kerwin White character's only saving grace was it's brevity - but honestly, here we have one of the most stable and reliable workers from late 90's into the early 2000's. Chavo Guerrero Jr is some very good stuff! 8.5 rounded up! And now for my 2024 UPDATE; 2004 was almost nothing but crap, garbage, trash, bad ideas, bad acting and in general: sucked. Chavo Guerrero Jr is one of the only HIGHLIGHTS and this man absolutely went above and beyond the call of duty. He's a 10, or more accurate a 25. BLESS THIS MAN.

3806.10.2024TripleCrown6.0Chavo is an incredibly average wrestler who just so happened to be a member of the Guerrero family. His work in professional wrestling will always be overshadowed by Eddie, which is quite sad given how long Chavo has been in the business. In my opinion, he just never stood out. The reason why Los Guerreros were so popular, was because of Eddie. If you had put Chavo in there with anybody else, it wouldn't have been as successful. He just doesn't have that gift of being able to connect with the fans, unless of course you mention Eddie. Again, it all seems to come back to comparing him with Eddie. Could never be a babyface, he's just a natural heel. He did have some decent-ish matches throughout the years, but he was always going to be midcard at best. Not that great in-ring, not that great on the mic, didn't have a great look. Just a very average wrestler.
3918.09.2024ChadCash Chavo was never as flashy in ring as his cruiserweight counterparts but he certainly showed more personality than almost that entire division which is why he lasted in WWE so long. He suffered from inconsistent booking and was used too often as a comedy guy for him to be treated seriously whenever WWE did want to try to be serious with him. For every ECW title run or Mysterio feud, there was a Hornswaggle match or celebrity beatdown waiting around the corner.

4708.07.2024goolsby10.0Chavo Guerrero is unfortunately saddled with being "Eddie Guerrero's nephew"; this is especially evident in his earlier career, like with WCW. But once Chavo set out on his own (tragic as the circumstances were) he really starts to shine. His role in Lucha Underground as both a producer and actor/wrestler is amazing. He's got a good move set, a nice look, some incredible mic skills, and a heel turn really suited him at that point in his career. I'm really impressed by him. Also, I like that he gets to go nuts and hit people with chairs. It's just plain fun.
4802.07.2024Dntbamark6.0It's unfair to compare Chavo Guerrero to his uncle Eddie Guerrero. As a talent and in-ring competitor, Chavo could hold his own with the best. He was arguably at his peak when he teamed with Eddie as part of Los Guerreros, delivering standout matches against Edge and Rey Mysterio, Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit, the Basham Brothers, and Team Angle. Once Chavo ventured on his own, he became a staple in WWE's cruiserweight division, carving out a name for himself by holding his own against Rey Mysterio, Funaki, Spike Dudley, Billy Kidman, Shannon Moore, and Jamie Noble. One of my favorite moments was Chavo's participation in the Cruiserweight Open at WrestleMania 20, where he faced off against Mysterio, Jimmy Yang, Tajiri, Noble, Nunzio, and Ultimo Dragon. Despite being given limited time, they managed to deliver a match that got everyone over and set a positive tone for an otherwise up-and-down WrestleMania show. Unfortunately, Chavo experienced some rough spots in his career, such as being saddled with the ill-fated Kerwin White gimmick, which was scrapped following Eddie's untimely passing. Additionally, Chavo is linked to the tragic Chris Benoit incident, as he was one of the last people to talk to Benoit, a connection that haunts him through no fault of his own. Overall, I like Chavo. It's unfair to compare him to Eddie, as Chavo has held over a dozen championships across three promotions in his own right thus cementing a solid legacy of his own in the pro wrestling industry.

5011.06.2024Zak226.0talented enough but some how he was just uninspiring to watch and never really excited you in the way a cruiserweight should. His dad was better and so obviously was Eddie.

5413.04.2024ultravioletshiroi7.0Chavo was arguably one of the bigger stars on Smackdown during the 2000s, along with Eddie, Chris, Edge, Rey, Angle and Taker. While Chavo was definitely the weaker of the bunch, he had his fair share of excellent matches, especially teaming alongside Eddie Guerrero in Los Guerreros. As a singles competitor he was pretty average, but good. Sometimes he would be given pretty terrible gimmicks however like Kerwin White for example. While Chavo never quite had the charisma or in-ring ability of his older brother, he could still hold his own, entertain and put on quality matches.

6721.11.2023crs2857.0When compared to Eddie he falls short, but he was still talented. In the ring he was a good wrestler and he had mic skills but he didn't show the charisma that Eddie did. He had better runs in TNA and Lucha Underground than his WWE run in my opinion.

7010.11.2023HammertonWay8.0Watching his early days recently in WCW and remember his time tagging and fighting with Uncle Eddie, I do have a lot of respect Chavo as a in ring performer. I think where people started to dislike him was in WWEs cruiserweight division, as at the time only Rey Mysterio and himself were in serious stories. Hes transitioned very well into a trainer outside the ring and still has a lot to give back to the business.

7927.05.2023Giantfan19806.0Chavo was always a good worker, and he had his moments, but he never really got away from the shadow of his legendary uncle Eddie. Solid cruiserweight contender, really hated how he would get relegated to dumb comedy stuff.

8426.04.2023ThatWrestlingDude6.0I do like Chavo, but let's be honest, he was nowhere near the worker of his uncles and father. And I think that kind of plagued him his whole career. I'm not saying that it's his fault, he just happened to be in a family where one of his uncles in particular, Eddie Guerrero was probably the best wrestler in that family. He's a solid worker in the ring. Didn't have even 1/10th Eddie's charisma, but he can hold his own in the ring.

9501.12.2022King Lurk6.0It's a shame that Chavo's career will forever be overshadowed by Eddie and Chavo Sr.. On one hand, yeah he has nowhere near the charisma Eddie had. At times he was downright boring, cursed with awful gimmicks like Kerwin White or forced into making a fool out of himself losing to midget comedy acts. On the other hand, Chavo is still fantastic in the ring and has moments where his personality shines as well. His only run that I'd call memorable would be his Lucha Underground run, but man did he shine there. Highly recommend checking it out for anyone that wants to see Chavo in a different light
