[5.0] "The WWF had some great preliminary wrestlers back in the 80'a. Horowitz, Sharpe, Lanny Poffo, Estrada, Rivera, this guy. It's hard to list them all. Koko B Ware was the best of them. Lombardi was good in this role. Never sold any tickets except for maybe some friends and family. Helped out with some things behind the scenes. Worked as Hogans travelling companion/bodyguard for a time in the 80's. Worked in the office after his in ring career ended. Decent career, all over the product in the golden era, deserves credit for the small part he played in that success."

[6.0] "The guy who was literally famous for being a quintessential enhancement talent, which is basically a euphemism for a jobber. Jobbers are usually good wrestlers with the charisma of toilet paper and as a result they are allotted the formiddible role of a jobber to put over wrestlers who are younger, more promising and far more likable than they are. Brooklyn Brawler did his job well and that's all that mattered."

Or at least when he was Steve Lombardi. He was suppose to have a bigger push as Brooklyn Brawler but fell short against the Red Rooster and became a jobber again."

"Lombardi was able to make even the lowest carders look like a million dollars. His gimmick blended in with 80's wrestling, with that being the Brooklyn Brawler, and his short stint as Abe "Knuckleball" Schwartz was genuinely entertaining. It did not necessarily matter that he was a jobber since his characters and fighting style would be surprisingly in depth."

[6.0] "Lombardi was a limited talent, a jobber with a good gimmick, he was able to get heat and you were always certain he was going to lose. Yes, I was a fan of the Brooklyn Brawler and not many were. From a child I always liked heels from Wrestling to even the Decepticons, and Lombardi's gimmick probably fed into the rough, crime riddled area I grew up in, even though he didn't look like anyone or talk like anyone, but had the attitude and the filth. Or it might of been just sympathy, watching him getting the shit kicked out of him every week. Charisma bad, Mic Skills average, Gimmick good, Longevity pass, Overness pass, Psychology good, Workrate good, Technical Ability average. 5.6*"

[6.0] "I certainly prefer the Steve Lombardi era of this guy; the commentary teams were always burying him for being a student of "Terry Garvin's school of self defense" and if you don't know why that's supposed to be funny - you have homework to do. He wasn't much really; scowls, forearms, a slam here, a rake of the eyes there; but there he was: ALWAYS LOSING. He was no Iron Mike Sharpe nor a Barry Horowitz, although he teamed with the latter often. After toiling and staring at lights for years on top of years, he was finally given the gimmick of The Brooklyn Brawler. As The Brooklyn Brawler he had wins (shocking! ) over the likes of Omar Atlas (strike that shock) and for a very brief moment even had Bobby The Brain Heenan at his side (wait, he WHAT? ! ). Of course, only the cream truly rise to the top so Brawler was back to being the curtain jerker for house shows until seemingly the end of time, in fact I'm still flabbergasted he was ever released from his contract! The Abe "Knuckleball" Schwartz character was wrestlecrap and he ALL KNEW IT WAS HIM. I can't recommend anything really, just watch the 80's WWF stuff and giggle at the disparaging comments. oh yeah, and he pinned Triple H. 5.5 rounded up."

[5.0] "How was he in WWE for 30 years? Tbh I wanted to see more of him. He debuted as a big? As a mediocre deal. He was the wrestler that feuded for Heenan with the Red Rooster. Not a great start. After the feud he was jobbing to everyone until 2013. I don't know why they never gave him a chance in the Attitude era or Ruthless aggression. A nice jobber tho"

[7.0] "I believe he's the greatest jobber of the 90's. He was very entertaining to watch and also interesting to see the gimmicks he has had over his career. The gimmicks were very cheesy and must has been overwhelming for him. You can see him as Kimchee or Doink. The baseball gimmick of Abe "Knuckleball" Schwartz was the worst. The Brawler worked very hard over the years in WWE as a wrestler and a road agent. The victory over Triple H was cheap. He was a classic smoking that cigar and not giving a damn about anything. He would make sporadic appearances over the years and was great to see. Now he has left the WWE and left behind a legacy. He reminds of the modern day Johnny Rodz."
