TJP

[3.0] "TJP has become one of the most annoying wrestlers in all of NJPW. Technically he is a decent wrestler (remember some of the classic battles he has had including his match with Josh Alexander). He hasn't accomplished a lot in New Japan. He hasn't even won any singles title (even as a Junior Heavyweight). In addition, he is pretty subpar on the mic. Also his character work is pretty bad unless he really is supposed to be an arrogant jerk..This wouldn't make sense since his stable is supposed to be babyfaces. His character now thinks he should be the leader of the United Kingdom stable. Accomplishments wise he is definitely delusional. However, he currently has that role. Henare is the Never Openweight Champion, Jeff Cobb is the NJPW TV Champion, and Great O Khan is the KOPW champion, and this guy is the leader appointed to succeed Will Ospreay? What a joke."

[2.0] "It is very funny. TJP was one of my faves for a bit and I even was a big supporter online but he has became so insufferable to watch. His role as the new leader of the UE has been on the level of Solo Sikoa as the bloodline leader, someone who is not fit for that role at all. He hasn't been on the level of a guy like Cobb or even O Khan to take over as acting leader yet here he is spewing all of that and it makes him just look like he's playing dress up until Ospreay can trot back or someone like Cobb or O Khan takes over from him."

[9.0] "TJP is one of the most underrated in-ring talents of his generation. He's a brilliant technician, who makes all the grappling & submissions he does look so smooth & crisp, but can pick up the pace and work a good high-flying style (complete with that signature holding onto the ropes like Spider-Man spot). I think that ties into one of his biggest strengths: how flexible he is in both ring-work and character presentation. He can work multiple types of matches, at different paces, and the little things he does can be altered. At some points in his career he's played a babyface in peril and would spend much of the match selling, but in NJPW is playing a calm veteran, so he does his best to not visibly show himself being hurt/weak to his opponent. He can play a fun babyface (hard not to with that moveset), or turn up the douchiness and be a good, cocky heel. He stands out in singles action, often with the best match on the show, but blended into tag teaming with Akira immediately with no chemistry issues, and doesn't overshadow him. Not a great promo, but he's more than serviceable. Incredible talent."

[9.0] "How good Perkins in the United Empire. Ospreay's group is one of the most coolest in the world right now and TJP is so hot in this. After WWE's run it looked like he is going to be a part of small promotions to the end of his career, but he showed in NJPw that he is one of the best technical wrestlers in the world now, and maybe of all time. WHERE'S YOUR HERO NOW?"

[10.0] "He does always a great match with a lot of his skills which he cultivated over his long career. And no matter what, he's strong! Beside he is pretty mature and sexy."

[6.0] "Ah TJP. He? s an interesting case. He? s downright great in the ring and I don? t think anyone can realistically dispute that, the dude can go. But he is a literal charisma vacuum, and when he actually tries to be charismatic he? s just super cringe. But yeah, he? s very athletic and can pull of all kinds of absurd shit in the ring, whether it be high flying spots or technical holds. Struggles in terms of psychology, but against legends like Ibushi or Alexander he can not only hold his own, but contribute greatly in putting on classics as he? s done."

[4.0] "Maybe the cringest wrestler in recent memory, from his terrible beliefs, to his bland promos, to his ungodly tattoos. He's acceptable in ring but his lack of charisma makes me care little. Who can forget when he said he's never learned anything while wrestling anyone, which I guess is true since he still shows no personality."

[8.0] "Scheint jetzt als Teil des United Empire endlich den Durchbruch zu schaffen. Vom Können her mindestens 6 Jahre zu spät, denn bereits beim CWC 2016 hat man gesehen, wie großartig TJ im Ring ist. In Sachen Ausstrahlung gibt es sicher bessere bei New Japan, und dass er privat nicht grade ein einfacher Typ ist, ist bei dem ein oder anderen seiner Mitstreiter auch schon ab und zu durchgeklungen. Das hält mich jedoch nicht davon ab, seine Coolness im Ring und seine wirklich großartigen technischen Fähigkeiten zu honorieren."

[9.0] "Great singles guy and also a good fit as a tag team wrestler alongside Francesco Akira. Currently in New Japan he is absolutely killing it but for some reason people are sleeping on him. Maybe his political views have an impact on that but nevertheless he is great at what he does best: wrestling."

[5.0] "He's okay in the ring, but I've seen TJP make several mistakes. With someone for his in-ring experience, I found this a little surprising."

[8.0] "A very talented wrestler who has been all over the world. Always been great at mixing various different styles. Able to move around various companies and find success."

[9.0] "After years of watching him wrestle it dawned on me that among my 50 all-time favorite bouts at least 7 of them had TJP in it. He is so good at mixing different influences (mostly Shoot-Style and Lucha Libre) and creating unique sequences, I mean, every match he has looks fresh and crisp."

[4.0] "In Ermangelungen einer besseren Beschreibung, empfinde ich TJP immer als sehr steril. Im Ring ist er technisch gut unterwegs, aber darüber hinaus bietet er nichts, was mich unterhält. [9.0] "For me, TJP is just quality promos from a 10. He understands that we all think we've seen everything in wrestling and so you'll always see a spot in his matches you've never seen before or at least not for a long long time. Chain grappling, high flying, submission styles, he can hang with anyone in virtually any style. You don't need a major in depth story to enjoy a TJP match because he'll make magic in there with anyone half capable. Give him a good opponent and it gets even better, just see his recent matches with Josh Alexander, Rohit Raju, Willie Mack, Chris Bey or Richard Holliday."

[8.0] "Judging him just as a wrestler, he's a great performer. There's a lot of things you can learn by watching his matches, specially reversals and quick moves. He also has pretty solid technical moves and high-flying spots."

[8.0] "Pretty decent. Always has good looking moves and has pretty exciting matches but nothing blow away though."

[4.0] "Decent ring skill and some nice looking spots but the guy has zero charisma and I don't think I've watched someone who just dragged me away from a match more than him with his lifeless, soulless performances that drag on and have the intensity of a guy on morphine. Even in the Super-J Cup he was probably one of the less remarkable performers (and that's saying something considering who was already there) despite WWE's best attempts to get him over, even having him win the CWC over guys like Ibushi, Kendrick, and a dozen other guys who have done far more in the business than him. It's clear that he's hit a stop in terms of improving as a wrestler and would rather wrestle ok bouts on Impact: if you go from highs like the above and fall all the way to working there, something has gone badly wrong."

[8.0] "TJP is outstanding in the ring and now that he's back in the indies he can focus on having quality matches and is usually being given the time to do them. He will remain a big name draw in the Indies who can still deliver high caliber matches for another 5-7 years before his body will probably start to degrade. He is also no longer saddled with awkward or stereotypical gimmicks to try to get him over."

[7.0] "TJP has consistently shown that is a versatile performer. His initial background was in lucha, but he has a lot incorporated a lot of submission, and grappling to his arsenal to the point where he's a technical wrestler that can fly and strike if need be. His matches, and wrestling have always been really great to watch, but for everything he excels at as a competitor, he lacks in charisma to me. Personally, I enjoyed him dabbing, and his real life cocky arrogance came off really well through it (not a fan of him as a person). All in all, he's really damn talented, high on his own hype, and would do better with a manager"

[9.0] "Nein, ist doch nicht wahr er ist HIM bzw. Man in Black natürlich nur wenn er nicht gegen den Man in Black gewrestlet hat. Hätte ich jetzt echt nicht gedacht aber TJ kennt sich ja mit Masken aus. Puma, Suicide, Manik, und dieser Charakter im schwarzen Ganzkörperkostüm den er jetzt nicht mehr verkörpert da er bei der WWE unter Vertrag ist. Ich gab ihm mal 10 Punkte vielleicht etwas viel aber TJ ist ein Wrestler der mir sehr gefällt und ich ruhig, 9 Punkte geben kann. Edit: 15. 09. 2019 Einige Matches seiner Zeit nach der WWE gesehen. Die Qualität bei ihm ist sehr hoch. Neue Perle entdeckt und er hat wieder viel Spaß. Auch hat er ordentlich an Tattoos auf seinem Körper dazubekommen."

[6.0] "The dabbing gamer who never managed to get me invested in anything he did. Solid enough cruiserweight, I guess."

[9.0] "I'm really surprised this guy doesn't have a higher rating on this web. Currently, he's one of the most talented men signed with WWE and his moves are definetly worth of admiration. Sure his mic and promo skills are not the best, and honestly, the gamer gimmick WWE gave him has nothing special to it, but I would definitely say that TJP is criminally underrated, especially considering his almost 21 years of experience."

[7.0] "Dude is an absolute creep and that stops many from giving him credit but he's actually really good. The cocky cock character he has right now is perfect and TJP has always been phenomenal in the ring."

He's still the backbone of the 205 Live division."

Hard to believe that on mostly casual fans free site like this wrestler is going to be hated because of gimmick he was given by some promotion's management, but hey, it looks like it did happened. Gamer character is bags of shit, true, but he is still awesome talent in the ring."

[6.0] "Im Ring sicherlich einer der Besseren. Schönes Move-Set nettes Selling und auch gutes BodyWork, wegen dem Finisher auch kontinuierlich. Kann der Typ aber bitte mal aufhören zu dabben ? Als Heel aktuell besser als belangloser Babyface, aber immer noch verschenktes Potenzial. Insgesamt runde ich das Ganze erst einmal ab, warte aber auch ein wenig. 6 Punkte"

[7.0] "TJP ist meiner Meinung nach ein er der besten bei 205. Er hat ein gutes moveset, eine solide bis gute Ausstrahlung und ist wrestlerisch auch gut. Leider hat er im moment (wie die meisten bei 205) wenig Charakter und kaum wirkliche Relevanz.... Ich finde er und z. B. Neville, Austen Aries und vielleicht noch Rich Swann hätten das Potenzial auch im Main roster anzutreten. Ich hoffe er bekommt bald eine bessere Einsetzung. So nur 7."

[0.0] "The absolute worst. Bland, annoying, charisma vacuum and spot monkey masquerading as a pro wrestler. Unnecessary. Even a video they released of him giving a tour of WWE Axxess managed to be immensely boring. The fact that he's been wrestling for almost 20 years and is only at the level he's at speaks volume. He was as athletically gifted in 2004 as he was now so why has he not progressed?"

[0.0] "I'm sorry but I do not like this guy at all. He is a decent worker but oh my fucking god his gimmick makes me cringe. His whole 90 retro gimmick fad needs to go, the dabbing needs to go and he really needs to learn how to talk. I get that WWE couldn't give the strap to ZSJ or Ibushi, but Metalik or anyone would have been a better choice."

[3.0] "Perkins knows what he's doing in the ring, but there is no character other than 30 year old man tries to be 18. It's annoying and he always looks bored in the ring. Any of the other 31 wrestlers in the CWC would've made a better winner than him."

[7.0] "Another wrestler that used to be great, but WWE doesn't allow nice things. TJP is ridiculously smooth at mat and chain wrestling and he has a very smug way of carrying himself. He falls short as a babyface though."

[4.0] "This guy does nothing for me and is really lame in many ways. First his gimmick does not connect with the audience. His dialogue for said character comes off as contrived. Is he supposed to be a gaming enthusiast or a video game character come to life? I don't know but whatever it is it is not working. The creative department needs to hit the refresh button with this guys gimmick because it is not working. There really not much to like about this guy in ring."

[5.0] "Ein guter und schneller In-Ring-Performer mit so gut wie kein Charisma, sein Micwork ist schlecht bis hin zu katastrophal und liefert meistens schlechte bis solide Matches ab, mehr gibt es eigentlich auch nicht zu sagen."

[6.0] "I'll be honest and say that I'm not quite sure what WWE sees in TJP. He's not very much of a standout in the ring, and he doesn't really have much charisma. I'd much rather see guys like Swann and Gallagher."

[7.0] "Definitely a very exciting performer. He can pull off plenty of exciting spots and sequences and comes off as a really down to earth kind of guy who likes to excite the fans and show off. His whole video game gimmick and the dancing before and during matches really need to stop, though. That sort of stuff sometimes pushes him from a playful underdog to being dorky, obnoxious, and sometimes both. He was quite likeable during the Cruiserweight Classic but has been sort of failing on the main roster, I believe for the reasons I listed just before. If there was to be a bigger focus on Perkins' 'good guy' characteristics and perhaps a more diverse display of his many cruiserweight-based skills then he could really be wowing the WWE crowds each week and gain a bigger following. While he isn't exactly over right now I do think that he has a personality (or, at least the acting ability to present a personality) that the audience could eventually find likeable, and he definitely already has some quite exciting skills to solidify his appeal. Being matched against Kendrick for so long certainly hasn't helped Perkins at all, since he hasn't been able to work the usual energetic high flying matches that the Cruiserweight division has been so loved for. More matches against wrestlers of similar styles should allow him to show off his abilities more and will definitely do a lot more to develop his popularity."

[8.0] "Tj Perkins in my view is one of the best cruiserweights in Raw, this guy is damn good in the ring and I think he will regain the cruiserweight title in future."

[7.0] "Ich kenne ihn nur von TNA und jetz bei WWE. Als Manik bei TNA hat er mir gut gefallen. Als er bei WWE kam, war es für ungewöhnlich ihn ohne Maske zu sehen. Bei der Cruiserweight Classic hat er mich einfach beeindruckt. Ich freue mich, dass er es in der WWE geschaft hat. Er ist ein würdiger erster Cruiserweight Titelträger. Blos, dass er den titel schnell verloren hat, stört mich gewaltig."

[4.0] "4 is the Highest that I can Give As A Fellow Filipino I Think This Guy is Kinda Overrated Move Set Wise Kinda Good For A Technical Guy Detonation kick and TJP Clutch But There Are Other Good Fil-Am Or Filipino Wrestlers That Deserve 7 and More That i can Think Off Like Zema Ion, Delikado/B-Boy and Recently Scott Lost Which I never knew was Filipino Blood and That Big Guy From Nueva Ecija Falabah Which I Am From . His Character is A Typical Underdog e. g. Was Homeless than Tries the best to shove it down are throat Roman Reigns Style then Goes Big I honestly Still prefer seeing this guy as a Heel Than The Face OF WWE RAW' S Cruiserweight .."

[7.0] "Ich muss gestehen, dass er mir bis zum CWC gänzlich unbekannt war. Umso beeindruckter bin ich jetzt von ihm. Hatte überhaupt nicht mit einem Sieg seinerseits gerechnet. Er ist ein würdiger Leader in die neue CW-Division. Technisch sehr variabel und flexibel im Ring."

[8.0] "TJ Perkins is a very good jack-of-all-trades cruiserweight who focuses mostly on strikes and submissions with some high-flying, and is capable of influencing a match with a touch of realism through his backgrounds in MMA, Boxing and Catch Wrestling - making him a potential hooker. Starting at 13 and as the youngest wrestler to work in the Tokyo Dome, he has a lot of experience for his age, and when it came to the CWC, he was 1 of 13 wrestlers (I felt) who deserved to win it. I believe he is out of Kota Ibushi's league, but they put on an excellent semi-final match in that tournament, and he had a great finals with Gran Metalik. He wasn't the best wrestler in tournament, but he still deserved it."

[7.0] "Wrestlerisch stark und ich denke darauf kommt es in der CW Division maßgeblich an. Promos allerdings eher schwach und fast vollständig frei von Charisma."

[10.0] "Ich kenne ihn schon 'ne Weile, aber durch das CWC ist er einer meiner Lieblingswrestler geworden. Zu Beginn des Turniers hat er mich kaum interessiert, aber seit die crowd reaction für ihn immer unfairer und ungerechtfertigter wurde, wurde er zu meinem Favoriten. Ein grandioser Wrestler, der alle Styles der Welt beherrscht, und auch sehr gut am Mic. Die beste Wahl, als erster die Crusierweight Division von Raw anzuführen."

[2.0] "The praises towards this wrestler sometimes baffles me. The guy as a weird dislikeable demeanor and lacks charisma severely. Crédits as to be given for his time as Puma, and a handful of very fun match, but generally his wrestling is balnd and unsatisfying. The mere idea of him being a founding piece of the new cruiserweight division makes me very anxious towards their success."

[7.0] "A very good wrestler with more than half of his life in the business. Has not had the longest resume of great matches or promos, but has enough talent to shine wherever he goes. The only problem is that personally, he's kind of an asshole with some really strange opinions and beef with some respected wrestlers. It's hard to root for the guy knowing all of that, but I can't let it affect what I think of him as a talent because there's been much better wrestlers who were much worse people. Congratulations on winning the first Cruiserweight Classic and the new WWE CW Title."

[7.0] "Guter Techniker bei dem ich leider ein wenig den ganz eigenen Style vermisse. In der Indy-Szene bisher gut aufgehoben und ich bin echt gespannt, wie er sich bei den Cruiserweight Classics macht. Ich finde ihn etwas uncharismatisch und auch am MicWork muss er noch ein bißchen feilen."

[8.0] "TJ Perkins was an underrated Talent which I think TNA wasted, Perkins was a good Cruiserweight who was very successful in Japan, Mexico and in USA, his time in TNA showed winning TNA X Division Title 1 time as Manik and as a member of Revolution but recently was realeased by TNA from their contract, Hope to see him more in Indies."

[8.0] "Für mich jedenfalls ein überdurchschnittlicher Highflyer, der ein paar beeindruckende Moves drauf hat und ein Match schnell machen kann. In seiner Puma-Persona hat er mir am besten gefallen, hat aber auch ohne Maske einen guten look und so einen natürlichen, bübischen Charme. Kann auch mehr als nur Fliegen, wenn man ihn lässt."

[10.0] "Absolutely a fantastic athlete and an amazing perfomer. Witha better push and longer matches he would still do great thing fot TNA, as he did in the past in the indies."

[9.0] "I love TJ Perkins. He is like a young AJ Styles; he is a quick, great high flyer wrestler, but he can fight very well with paople bigger than him."

[8.0] "Wahnsinnswrestler, der mit fast jedem Gegner ein ordentliches Match haben kann und mit einem guten Gegenpart nahezu immer ein gutes. Leider von ROH sträflich unterbewertet, zumindest als Midcard-Attraktion könnte man ihn gut einsetzen."

[7.0] "Eigentlich Jemand mit sehr viel Potential. Seine Leistungen im Ring sind schon mal ganz in Ordnung und ich denke auch in den anderen Bereichen kann der sich noch deutlich verbessern. Leider sieht man zu wenig von ihm, sollte er wirklich zu TNA wechseln, könnte er dort wirklich eines der Aushängeschilder der X Division werden."

[9.0] "Sehr unterbewerteter Mann, der leider bei ROH nur eine sehr unwichtige Rolle spielt. Gefällt mir wirklich sehr gut und ich würde ihn gerne in größeren Matches sehen."

[8.0] "Macht mir immer Spaß ihm zuzusehen. Hat auch irgendwie einen Superstar Look."

[8.0] "TJP ist einfach ein Top Wrestler, den ich immer wieder gerne bei Ring Of Honor sehe. Guter Look & stiffe Moves. Matches gg. Davey Richards oder Kyle O Reilly wären bestimmt genial."

[7.0] "Gefällt mir immer besser, war im Ring schon immer in Ordnung, hat sich aber in letzter Zeit nochmal gesteigert und hat auch den Look um aus der Masse an Indy Talenten herauszustechen."

[8.0] "Super Shot-Fighter, nur hapert es im normalen Wrestling an der Technik, da bräuchte er mehr Training!"

[7.0] "TJP ist einfach verdammt cool. Ich halte ihn für sehr unterbewertet, vor allem was seine Leistungen im Ring angeht. Er hat alle Anlagen, um sich in den größeren Indys, wie ROH, DGUSA, Chikara und PWG durchzusetzen. Die nötige Ausstrahlung bringt er zudem auch mit. Er war schon als Puma ein guter Highflyer aber seine Maske abzunehmen und als TJP/TJ Perkins anzutreten war die richtige Entscheidung."

[7.0] "Richtig gut Techniker, der unglaublich schnell im Ring unterwegs ist. Ich mag eigentlich alle seine Gimmicks aber am liebsten würde ich ihn dauerhaft als Sydistico sehen. Damit könnte er meiner Ansicht nach den Durchbruch schaffen!"

[8.0] "Wie meine Vorredner schon gesagt haben, Perkins ist einfach ein guter Techniker, bietet harte Kicks und fliegt auch schön, vor allem sauber durch die Lüfte. Auch als Puma bei TNA hat er mir gut gefallen, aber vor allem bei PWG zieht er sogar Hardcore Kidd zu einem guten Match, das heißt was, 8 Punkte."

[8.0] "Ziemlich underrated auf Grund seiner eher geringen Ausstrahlung. Aber TJ Perkins ist ein absolut erstklassiger Techniker, vergleichbar mit Rocky Romero gegen den er in PWG auch einige hochklassige Matches hatte. Nicht zuletzt da er mit den Havana Pitbulls schon in ganz frühen Tagen zusammen angetreten ist. Sowohl auf der Matte als auch in der Luft und nicht zuletzt mit seinen Kicks derart talentiert, dass er mit passendem Gegner echte technische Leckerbissen servieren kann. Sehe ihn immer sehr gerne."

[6.0] "Sehr gute Technik, riesiges Movearsenal und im Ring immer souverän. Noch ziemlich jung, da kann also noch einiges kommen. Sollte bloß bald wieder zur Maske greifen, denn er wirkt ansonsten doch ziemlich farblos und auf mich irgendwie zu kindlich und unglaubwürdig."

[7.0] "Überragender Techniker, der mir ohne Maske besser gefällt!"

Seine Matchserie mit Rocky Romero war für mich eines der Highlights des letzten PWG-Jahres."
