Also known as Ax, Ax Demolition, Axis The Demolisher, Masked Superstar, Superstar, Masked Destroyer, Masked Superstar #1, Bolo, Bolo Mongol, Super Machine, International Superstar, Billy Crusher, Bill Eadie
[8.0] "Bill Eadie is one of the most criminally underrated wrestlers of his era. Whether it was his run as part of The Mongols in NWA, his run as The Masked Superstar, or his WWE run as Ax from Demolition, Eadie had a solid grasp of psychology that allowed him to get any character of his over (and he was certainly one of the better wrestlers on the microphone - A manager merely enhanced his image.) Well-decorated and well-respected, Eadie kept going in the ring until he turned 70. I was a Demolition fan as a kid, but respected the rest of his body of work once I was old enough to do so."
[7.0] "He is best known for his character Ax in the tag team Demolition. Demolition was a great tag team and Ax played the characters well and did good work in interviews and in matches. Throughout his career he was always best in a tag team"
[7.0] "My slightly preferred Demolition member. Ax was not as good in the ring as Smash, but had the stronger mic skills overall. His in ring work was very much mind games and wearing the opponent down, which isn't as fun to watch as Smash's style, but his mic skills more than make up for it."
[6.0] "My favorite Demo member. Best talker of the group and Smash might have been slightly better at the all out brawling and power stuff, but Ax had that old school wear them down technique that set opponents up."
[10.0] "One of my overall lifetime faves. Crazy great timing, absurd grip on ring psychology and pacing. Top of the mountain of the gods of "god tier" mic work; might be the best talker ever who isn't Jim Cornette. As The Masked Superstar he was a GODSEND. In my estimation he was the absolute best ring worker in the late 70's/early 80's & an episode of Georgia Championship Wrestling wasn't complete without him. Elevated New York/The WWWF over all immensely; Bob Backlund & Andre the Giant's best opponent. Killer stuff in Japan as well. The Machines are a neat lil guilty pleasure, as Super Machine he was the first to give Big John Studd some serious competition (er outside of Andre of course). Then he become the iconic Demolition Ax, I can only continue to heap the praise upon him for being such a monumental portion of the golden era. This is where Mr. Eadie catapulted his career into truly legendary status on a national level. The Demolition team (with no Crush) is one of my most favorite things ever, very close and dear to my heart. I can not exalt the Demolition run enough. I also have to thank him for Global Wrestling Federation ever being a thing, cheers for that Bill! One of professional wrestling's best, an underrated pillar of the industry that was one of the major players in the development of something bigger and better. I can only give him a 10, because it's not possible to rate someone a six hundred and twelve."
[5.0] "Ax was okay. In general, I think a lot of the '80s WWF stuff does not age well when you look back at it with modern eyes. Demolition was kind of a dull team with generic '80s offense. Some people think he was way better when he was Masked Superstar, but I don't think he was good enough even under that gimmick to warrant a higher rating."
[10.0] "Bill Eadie - is one of the very few wrestlers to find success working three distinctly different personas. to have three very distinct characters and with each one having totally different working style and all with very different but successful legacies says something about him! Just tells you why he is in the PWHF the Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame the real pro wrestling hall of fame not Vince McMahon hall ! 1st he was Bolo Mongol of the tag team Mongols in Det, Nwf , Wwwf, IWF the 2nd as the Masked Superstar or as a off shoot of the character he was highly successful runs worldwide with this character in Georgia, Mid-Atlantic, WWF, Fla, New Japan, had monster mega feuds with Mr Wrestling #2, Then Mighty Igor and the cigar in Igor eye ball, and the 12 90 min cage match's with Blackjack Mulligan, Wahoo McDaniel Tommy Rich, Andre the Giant he body slam Andre years before Hogan did ! He had 20 something 60 min draw with WWF world champ Bob Backlund, Hulk Hogan, then 3rd part and he formed the tag team Demolition with Randy Colley, formerly Moondog Rex, who wrestled as Smash while Eadie wrestled as Ax. Colley was later replaced by Barry Darsow as Smash and rest is history, his peers highly respect him too bad the fans under rate him ! Because He was very good!"
[8.0] "A very unique wrestler. His gimmicks were excellent from Bolo Mongol to the Masked Superstar to Ax of Demolition. Not only was he a grat wrestler but a great tag partner as well."
[7.0] "Though already an established tag team veteran, Bill Eadie will forever be remembered as Ax, half of Demolition. Like his partner, he was a strong powerhouse wrestler with the kind of brash bravado you'd expect from an '80s star. Substantially older than his partner, Ax never really had the chance to take on other characters in the big leagues once Demolition's run was over like Smash/Barry Darsow did, but he continued working regularly on the indies and to this day occasionally pops up for a Demolition reunion here or there."
[8.0] "Even though there is definitely no doubt in my mind and in any of the rest of the old school fans' minds that Demolition are one of the greatest tag teams of all-time, in my opinion, even though Smash became more popular than Ax using different gimmicks and what not, I think Ax was the most talented out of those two! I thought he was the better in-ring worker than Smash and he was definitely the better talker than Smash because when Ax cut promos with Smash, his voice sounded like he should be a cartoon character on a TV show, that's how good he was!"
Hall of Fame-Material."
