Suzuka Minami

[9.0] "She may not have been as outstanding as some of her peers (Akira Hokuto and Manami Toyota instantly come to mind). However, Suzuki Minami deserves credit for being one of the most consistent joshi wrestlers of the early and mid 1990s. The fact that she retired earlier than most of the other AJW girls from her generation probably has a lot to do with her not being talked about as much in comparison. She retired in May 1995, while several of the girls from her generation were still going strong and would continue wrestling for several more years. One of her most well-known matches was her 4/11/93 match against Harley Saito at the famous Dream Slam II event, which was excellent and is worth checking out."

[8.0] "Its almost criminal to me that no one else has rated Suzuka Minami before now. She was in enough great tag matches that anyone familiar with classic joshi should be aware of her work. Id say that probably speaks volumes about just how loaded with talent All Japan Womens was during her tenure. Only there could such a great wrestler go relatively unnoticed. Its not just here either; for whatever reason it seems like crowds just didnt connect with her. She never got out of the midcard because of that, but she was solid in her role and a wrestler with her kind of ability would be a great asset to any promotion. I guess being surrounded by so many brightly-burning stars - chief among them her Marine Wolves tag partner Akira Hokuto - that her own just couldnt shine through. I still think she is fantastic, though."
