[4.0] "Really didn't get a whole lot of matches, and never got a chance to show off whether or not he actually had it. Had the typical WCW look of the era, big guy with big muscles. Didn't look bad in the ring though."

[3.0] "A WCW trainee and product of the Power Plant. Only seen 3 or 4 of his matches, one of which was his appearance at World War 3 98 and he disappeared from the scene in 99 for good. Jobber to the jobbers and Saturday Night Wrestling resident (I think) and he was totally lost in the oversized roster."

[3.0] "Chip Minton had an interesting backstory as an Olympic bobsledder-turned-pro wrestler. He had a good physique and natural athleticism, and if his ring-work was rough around the edges, he did possess a few impressive moves that could have been built upon. He seemed to be held back by a lack of charisma, an overbloated WCW roster and probably the appearance of Goldberg to fill WCW's "legitimate athlete" quota, and ultimately spent the greater part of his short career as an enhancement talent, and didn't continue pursuing wrestling after leaving WCW in 1999."

[4.0] "Chip Minton gained some notoriety for WCW in the 90s by making it onto the US Olympic bobsled team. As a wrestler, he had an impressive vertical leap which he sued to his advantage on moves like a leg drop (and I think a dropkick too, if memory serves). Other than that, though, he didn't have that much going for him. If he had charisma he never got the chance to show it. Still, I'm surprised WCW didn't at least try to push him to some sort of midcard level considering the backstory of his Olympic involvement. At the very least, he was clearly a talented athlete who had a built-in backstory. Goodness knows WCW pushed plenty of less talented wrestlers. Instead, for whatever reason, Minton languished as a jobber on shows like Saturday Night, Pro, and World Wide. He didn't even job to top or midcard guys, but folks like Chris Adams and Scotty Riggs, guys who weren't getting pushed themselves."

"I'm not going to rate him because I"ve never seen any of his matches. I'm just going to point out how fascinating it is for a man to go from Olympic bobsledding to professional wrestling. That is an amazing transition. Unfortunately I can find next to no information about this guy's career, other than he was a jobber in WCW. Truly an interesting piece of wrestling history."
