After the closure of Stampede Wrestling in 1989, Wellington worked in the Canadian independent circuit and scored appearances for the WWF and WCW in addition to tours in Japan. In 1996 he suffered an eye injury in a match with Tazz in ECW, an injury that would plague him for the rest of his life. Wellington died of a heart attack in June 2007. |
