[2.0] "Früher hätte ich ihm 5 oder 6 Punkte gegeben, da ich ihn im Ring generell okay aber jetzt auch nicht besonders finde. Heutzutage dass er noch wrestelt ist einfach ein komplett unprofessionelles Verhalten und da Unprofessionalität nichts im Ring zu suchen hat, geb ich ihm nur 2 Punkte. Weiterhin fand ich ihn immer als Kommentator wirklich schlecht und störend, er hat mit seinem Kommentar sogar für mich Matches schlechter gemacht. Aber könnte eventuell alles auch an seinem Alzheimer liegen. Dann sollte er aber heutzutage zumindest nicht mehr im Ring stehen."

[3.0] "Vampiro should definitely retire his in ring career, he makes everything worse. You have a good legacy don't ruin it with these atrocious performances. He was never that good anyway but nowadays he's been a machine that produces horrible matches."

[5.0] "Only watched his WCW stuff. Had an interesting look and decent enough in the ring, but never really stood out work rate wise in WCW. Heard he is difficult to work with."

[6.0] "Vampiro is pretty much a meme because all of the things that you'd think someone needs to get popular (I.E. good ring work, mic skill, psychology, etc etc) were completely absent. What he did have was a killer look and a completely unique style of wrestling that many would say was sloppy and kick-punch mostly, but there's just a charm about how he gets his shit in that you can't help but be at least a bit interested. If you want someone to just do sick power moves out of nowhere and do trash brawls, Vampiro is practically that perfect storm of both a solid option while also being horrendously shit in places. His LU work was mostly good because Vamp's always been up for telling stories: be they real or completely made up on the spot: and telling them with such conviction and malice that you can't help but believe some of the ludicrous shit he's just throwing out there. His commentary in general tends to drift into just plain bad at best and outright unpleasant at worst (see his Triplemania stuff for that in action, it's a rough watch) and anyone trying to spin him as otherwise is fooling themselves. That said, he's a legend of the ring and has had some pretty good matches if you can get behind his style enough to appreciate what he throws out there. It's not for everyone at all but I guess that's the appeal of the guy in the first place, you never really know what you get with him match to match."

[6.0] "He looked cool, can't deny that. He was a big deal in Mexico, most notably getting a big female crowd in his time in CMLL. Can't really think he's that at anything particularly, to be honest."

[9.0] "Vampiro is a legend in Mexico and a notable figure of the later years of WCW, although not always in a good way, feud with Sting is for example. In later years, he performed mainly on the independent scene and appeared in AAA, PWG and wXw, but most of all he was remembered for the program with Pentagon Jr. in Lucha Underground where his career got a second life and apparently there were big plans for him in season 5, but the sequel never came out and Ian went into oblivion again, which is very sad, because match with Pentagon showed that he still got it."

[4.0] "I am struggling to think what Vampiro was actually meant to be good at even in his prime and I am coming up blank"

[4.0] "In his WCW run he was completely undistinguished-- he had a cool look, but couldn't talk much and couldn't really wrestle. I also wasn't a big fan of his commentary in Lucha Underground."

[9.0] "Great wrestler. One of the scariest of all time. He has been a hit everywhere he has been. Never WWE. WCW was his biggest peak and popularity but his best work was in Mexico and Japan. Lucha Underground great as a commentator."

[3.0] "Vampiro is one of the most successful "pretty boy" wrestlers to have ever worked in Mexico: he was so insanely popular with female fans CMLL was pretty much forced into give him a push completely out of proportion of his in-ring skill, charisma and promo ability. His incredible popularity had to be seen to be believed and, apparently, caused Vampiro to develop a serious attitude problem which ultimately forced CMLL to pack him off to Japan (NJPW didn't want him, so he was sent to Michinoku Pro) and later to WCW. He was later back to CMLL, where his return mercifully fizzled away as he was proven to be not much a wrestler, not much of a talker and surely not much of a charismatic individual. He has since tried to reinvent himself as a hardcore or, more accurately, a garbage wrestler: he's surely no Mick Foley or even Tomoaki Honma. Based on his worth I would probably rate Vampiro a neat 1, but in his prime he was an absolutely amazing draw and I have to acknowledge that so he gets a very generous 3."

[3.0] "Vampiro had a really cool look when he was young. Wasn't ever great in the ring and for some reason continues to wrestle part-time today, having forgettable hardcore match after forgettable hardcore match."

[8.0] "Wie er schon oft selbst betonte, er ist kein Wrestler, aber mit diesem "Nix" hat er sich immer gut verkauft, schließlich wurde er na wegen "Nix" eine Legende in Mexiko, also muss dieses "Nix" was besonderes sein! War zwar eher im Hardcore-Bereich zu Hause, hatte auch auch mit seiner düsteren Aura genug Charisma. Vielleicht kommt in den Jahren nicht mehr viel, dennoch ein harter Worker!"

[9.0] "Finde ihn als Kommentator von LU einfach richtig gut. Er ergänzt sich super mit Matt Striker, der als reiner Kommentator auftritt, während Vampiro auch an den Storylines teilnimmt und ja sogar einmal im Ring stand. Als er noch hauptberuflich im Ring stand war ebenfalls unterhaltsam, wenn auch kein Maineventer. Also 10 Punkte für den Kommentator und sieben für den Wrestler. Die 8, 5 Punkte runde ich dann guten Gewissens auf 9 auf."

[8.0] "Ich fand ihn bei der WCW eigentlich immer recht gut. Und auch jetzt bei Lucha Underground als Kommentator (er sabbelt manchmal Müll, geht aber immer gut mit der Action und teilweise auch den Fans mit) und Mentor von Pentagon Jr.. Einige Skits bei dieser Storyline waren absolut grandios - vor allem das Eröffnungs-Segment der zweiten Staffel mit Vampiro, wie er in der Klapse gedanklich austickt. Ich gebe gute acht Punkte."

[8.0] "Vampiro fiel mir zum ersten mal in der WCW auf, so ca. 99. Hatte durchaus Potential für mehr, war nicht schlecht im Ring, konnte Promos halten und hatte ein cooles Gimmick. Hätte man was draus machen können. Nach dem Ende der WCW kam dann leider der unrühmliche Teil seine rKarriere mit dümmlichen bookings in der XPW und einer Zusammenarbeit mit der ICP. Was soll man davon halten? Sei's drum. Fand ihn eigentlich immer sehr cool, auch heutzutage bei Lucha Underground noch ein guter Kommentator. Positiver Gesamteindruck."

[8.0] "One of my all time faves, the Lucha Libre answer to Sting. Although Vampiro is more fun to watch. Well at least he was in his prime. Great gimmick, great moveset, Although I should deduct points for his inexplicable affinity for Insane Clown Posse, I wont because Vampiro kicks ass. Also he was in the short lived Wrestling Society X, which is pretty cool."

[8.0] "I thought this guy was gonna be a huge star when his WCW run first started. Obviously that never happened. Still a good wrestler, though. Lousy mic skills, but otherwise he had everything going for him: great, unique look, unusual and effective style in the ring, natural charisma, etc. Pity the brain trust at WCW botched what should've been his shot at the big time."

[8.0] "Gimmick, Charisma, Entrance und in Ring Leistung hat damals gepasst. Auch heute gefällt mir Vampiro als Kommentator Super!"

[8.0] "I remember seeing him in WCW, and I thought he was so awesome. The hair, the tattoos, the facepaint, everything. Plus he was a good wrestler. I had no idea what a draw he was in Mexico though. His feud with Sting was one of the most overlooked in WCW (and all of wrestling history. )"

[8.0] "Vampiro hat mir in seiner Zeit bei der WCW von Beginn an gefallen. Das Gimmick, die Musik, guter Techniker, sein Mic-Work, die Fehden es hat alles gestimmt bei ihm. Ich sage nur Misfits und Insane Clown Posse !"

[8.0] "Cooler Typ, tolles Gimmick und im Ring auch nicht verkehrt. Vor allem seine erste Entrance Music gab ihm ein ordentliches Charisma-Plus (man glaubt nicht, was die richtige Theme bei einem Wrestler ausmacht... ) - sah ihn gerne, bis er später in die seltsamsten Fehden gesteckt wurde. Trotzdem war ich im Zweifel auf der Seite Vampiros."

[2.0] "Komplett langweiler Wrestler und mieser Typ hinter den Kulissen."

[9.0] "Habe ihn damals in der WCW unglaublich gerne gesehen! Technisch ein klasse Mann.. würde ihn gerne wieder im Ring sehen."

[7.0] "Wirre Fehden statt großer Titel, aber definitiv nicht schlecht... Und weil er live unheimlich gut rüberkommt, bekommt er noch einen kleinen Bonus!"

[7.0] "Naja, heute siehts vielleicht etwas anders aus aber damals zu WCW Zeiten fand ich ihn nicht schlecht."

[4.0] "I canŽt see anything special in him. Overrated. Maybe another gimmick?"

[7.0] "Hat mir bei der WCW immer gut gefallen, aber da war ich auch noch jung und leicht von düsteren Gimmicks zu beeindrucken."

[8.0] "Vampiro hat mir immer gut gefallen. Sein Gimmick hat er stets überzeugend verkörpert. Mittlerweile ist er natürlich nicht mehr allzu gut im Ring. Dennoch bin ich froh, dass er in Mexiko noch ab und zu antreten darf."

[5.0] "Sein Wrestling Charakter ist sehr avantgarde, allein das macht viel von der Faszination bei ihm aus. Er versteht viel von der Kommunikation mit dem Publikum, seine Rolle bietet viel Platz für kreative Fehden. Auch im Ring bewegt er sich weitaus besser, als sein Ruf es glauben lassen mag. In Mexiko jedenfalls ein echter Star."

[5.0] "Er hat mir nie so richtig gefallen und ich habe den ganzen Hype um ihn nie verstanden jedoch kein schlechter im Ring."

[0.0] "Ey Vampiro, deine Mutter hat angerufen. Sie hat gesagt, du kannst nichts!"

"Ich wünsche ihm eine gute und schnelle Genesung... Mit einem gebrochenen Rücken ist nicht zu spaßen..."

[2.0] "Im Ring überwertet und dazu kommt unprofessionelles Verhalten im Hinblick auf die Einhaltung seiner Bookings."

[6.0] "Ich persönlich bin kein Fan von Vampir-Gimmicks oder derart sonstigen, aber Vampiro ist einer der wenigen die mir trotzdem gefallen. Hatte in der WCW seien Niesche in der er auch recht erfolgreich war. Jetzt tourt er die meiste Zeit durch Europa und Südamerika, wo er weiterhin viele Bookings bekommt."

[5.0] "Im Ring passabel, aber nicht herausragend. Das Gimmick... na ja, er ist der typische Gothic-Hui-Buh, der für entsprechend affine Fans halt das Beste seit geschnitten Brot ist. Das meine ist es auf Dauer nicht, auch wenn er es gut rüberbringt."

[10.0] "Unglaublich, ich weiß garnicht was ich schreiben soll, sehr guter Worker, am Mic auch ganz größer Könner, perfekter Look und ernstzunehmender Charakter."

[10.0] "Zu WCW Zeiten war er einer meiner Lieblinge. Es stimmt, dass er zwar nie ein Top Star war, trotzdem fand ich die Matches alle gut anschaubar. Selbst heute ist er nicht viel schlechter geworden! 10 Punkte!"

[8.0] "Hatte zur WCW zeit durchaus das potenial zum US Champ."

[8.0] "Kenne ihn hauptsächlich aus seiner wCw Zeit und dort fand ich ihn charismatisch und durchaus für sehenswerte Matches fähig."

[8.0] "Klasse Gimmick, tolles Auftreten, charismatisch! Im Ring ist er ganz gut, könnte aber sicherlich noch mehr zeigen. Würde ihn gerne in einer großen Promotion sehen, damit er mal alles zeigen kann was er so drauf hat. Wird nach meiner Meinung total unterbewertet und unterschätzt."

[6.0] "Das Gimmick hatte immer was, aber wrestlerisch recht überbewertet"

[6.0] "Das Gimmick ist richtig geil! Aber ansonsten rockt Vampiro mal gar nicht! Im Ring wirkt er eintönig und in den Fähigkeiten doch ziemlich eingeschränkt. Seine Fehde mit Sting ist und bleibt aber ein Meilenstein, die muss man erlebt haben!"

[6.0] "Ganz guter Brawler. Am Micro hat man ja nicht viel von ihm gehört. Hat auch nie den Push bekommen der ihm zugestanden hätte."

[8.0] "Im Ring eigentlich nur gehobenes Mittelmaß, aber Gimmick und Ausstrahlung sind einfach genial."
