[0.0] "I would love to be able to rate Rocky Johnson on his in ring ability. I would love to be able to rate Rocky Johnson on his historical significance. I would even love to be able to rate Rocky Johnson on that fact that he gave us The Rock. I can't rate him on any of those things however, because Rocky Johnson was an absolute scumbag. Let's just count the ways shall we? Arrested for raping a 19 year old girl. He asked a 12-year-old girl to play strip poker. Talked about the size of his penis in front of a group of children. Screwed Scott Teal over after Teal wrote his autobiography for him. Had multiple illegitimate children in Canada that he knew about and never supported. Yeah. A total scumbag."

[7.0] "Rocky Johnson had undeniable charisma and presence--he carried himself like a star, and that natural swagger made him stand out in his era. His work with Tony Atlas broke barriers and left a lasting legacy. While his in-ring work was solid but not groundbreaking, he was always entertaining to watch. Not the most technically gifted, but definitely memorable and historically important."

[5.0] "Had the look, the charisma was over 1000% and decent enough in the ring. Worked best in the tag team with Tony Atlas. Didn't care much for how comical his opponents sold his punches sometimes."

[6.0] "Was pretty great until around 1984 when he just totally stopped caring about anything besides keeping in shape. A highlight of sorts in the 70's/early 80's. By the Mid 80's though, my goodness he barely phoned it in. I always wanted to like him but that only paid off until a certain point. Either an over achiever or an under achiever- no middle ground, except his score. 6.25 rounded down; if he had kept his in ring work on the level of his physical conditioning, we'd have a much higher rating."

[8.0] "It deserves a higher grade point average. If only for bringing The ROCK to life and contributing to its appearance."

[10.0] "I am surprised that he is has a lower rating. Come on he was great! He just not known as the Rock's father he was know as a wrestler in the 70's and 80's. He had the physiques what. I also found him exciting to watch. He is a pioneer for black wrestlers along with Tony Atlas. His moves were entertaining."

"Just commenting for now, as I was a huge fan of his. He would wrestle any style necessary. Great look, he was the complete package. I'd always heard whispers about him being hard to work with at times and MAN, does he come off bad in Tony Atlas' book. I'll wait for more of the fallout on that, because if his ego broke up an historic team, my rating will reflect that."

[7.0] "wrestled in a day and age when black men were not well treated by the world of wrestling. territories used to only have room for 1 black wrestler on the roster at a time. they would move the boys around every few months to keep them fresh. Johnson was almost 40 when he finally got a chance to work WWE in the early 1980's and get his run as tag champs with Tony Atlas. If Johnson had been born 20 years later he would have had a better career than a guy like Ron Simmons for comparison. If Johnson had been white, he would have had runs with titles like the US belt in NWA and the Intercontinental in WWE but was probably never going to be a world champ."

[7.0] "While most people in today’s day and age only think of Rocky Johnson as the father of The Rock there was a lot more to him then that. If it was not for him (and Tony Atlas too of course) paving the way we would not be able to have teams like current champions The New Day being Tag Team Champions. And that was only something he had done in a four year span that he was in the WWE. What he had achieved in the 18 years prior is too numerous to mention. There is a reason why Rocky Johnson is in the WWE Hall of Fame and it isn’t just because he is the father of the most electrifying man in sports entertainment. No it is because he truly is a legend of the ring"
