Juventud Guerrera

"Deserves recognition for incredible work in AAA, ECW, WCW, & NOAH. With Misterio and Psicosis he helped put Lucha on the map in the U.S. with amazing high flying and a good arsenal of suplexes plus the Juvi driver. I think he was the first luchadore to lose his mask in a major US promotion to boot."

[8.0] "Juventud Guerrera was a great high flyer for WCW. He had good technical abilities in the ring and charisma to pair with great athleticism. His WWE run was bad but that was mostly on time and gimmick. His longevity in the business is impressive."

[7.0] "From what I've seen in his ECW and WCW days, he was a really fun high flyer to watch who was low key funny doing "The Juice" gimmick."

[6.0] "Another guy who had a lot of talent, but bought into his own publicity and pissed off too many people in the locker room. He came to the WWE for a cup of coffee but if you went to take a leak, you missed his career there because as I understand it, a couple of people wanted to kick his face in for being a primadonna amongst the established WWE guys."

[6.0] "Spectacular in his early days, there was only really a few guys who could do what he did and it resulted in some pretty groundbreaking matches. I don't know if it was injuries or personal issues but he was well over the hill by the time he rocked up in WWE."

[10.0] "Juvi has always been my favorite flier. All his matches are spectacular. Great in ring ability and nonstop energy. Juvi is the GOAT."

[7.0] "Another inmate ended their write up with "His best work was short-lived and he regressed quickly"; I feel this encapsulates him rather well, well enough that I began my own write up quoting it! Dazzling as he could be; he was a mess, it showed in his work and by 2000 his career had all but tanked. He wasn't smart enough to capitalize on his good looks after being unmasked - there was "sympathy heat" written all over him and he squandered it. Was athletically gifted n all, but almost never ever displayed any psychology, understanding of pacing or ability to elevate those around him. A precursor to "a bunch of good looking stuff that means nothing". So much potential, flushed by his own hands... 6.5 rounded up when he coulda been a 9 or 10."

[8.0] "Without a doubt, one of the best high flying wrestlers of all time. Unfortunately, he's insane, and being more humble could have gotten him better runs in some major promotions, but nonetheless, he has a tremendous pro wrestling career. The man got so much work outside of Mexico, including the US, Japan (Dragon Gate and NOAH), Australia, UK, etc. - He's still remembered by many WCW and WWE fans to this day."

[8.0] "In his prime, Juventud was so good. Those feuds in those WCW cruiserweight days were amazing, and he was right in the thick of things. While he was later overshadowed by some illustrious alumni from that promotion, I think Juventud was an integral part of that promotion at that time and put on some stellar matches."

[9.0] "Juventud was really one of the best cruiserweights ever, he was very very talented in the ring. Had tons of charisma and arrogance which made him a natural born heel. Sometimes botched a move or two and cut cringy/entertaining promos but overall he was truly one of the most gifted athletes in the history of wrestling."

He still wrestles today but unlike some of his foes such as Mysterio wasn't able to possess the longevity they had. His best work was short-lived and he regressed quickly."

[9.0] "everyone gets old... but at his peak juvunted was extremely exciting to watch. one of only a handful of lucha libre guys that could adapt to usa wrestling in wcw and wwe. his party lifestyle outside of the ring is fairly legendary and ultimately made him unusable for the corporate promotions which was sad to me because his matches were must watch in my opinion"

[6.0] "Eigentlich war Juventud Guerrera ein ordentlicher Wrestler, der auch Aktionen vom Gegner gut verkaufen konnte-was gerade bei vielen Mexikanern anders ist. Ist mit sicherheit dem Stil in Mexiko verschuldet, weil da das Wrestling etwas anders aufgebaut ist. Trotzdem war er in der Nehmerrolle sehr glaubhaft. Spektakulär und idR auch sauber hat er mich oft begeistert-vor allem in der WCW. Cruiserweight Wrestling war ja in Europa und Amerika noch recht neu und so waren da schon viele eindrucksvolle Partien dabei. Später in der WWE fand ich ihn sehr unkonstant in seinen Leistungen. Aktuell ist es wieder etwas besser. Und das Problem bei vielen CW-Wrestlern mit dem Aneinanderreihen von moves ohne Sinn und Zweck traf auf ihn auch zu(wobei es im Rahmen blieb). Micskills fast im Minusbereich tragen jetzt auch nicht zur Topbenotung bei. 6 Punkte, vor allem weil abseits des CW-Stils wenig war was überzeugen konnte. :)"

[9.0] "nix verlernt.... super starkes Match gegen Super Crazy bei Celtic Underground.. mit viel LUCHA STYLE. Glaube er hat den Weg in die rihctige Spur gefunden !"

[7.0] "Gleich wie Nicho, nur stärker, beweglicher und er hat eine besser Matchquote. Matchquotentechnisch ist er gerade mal mittel, doch er hat auch viele Titel."

[8.0] "Noch immer gut unterwegs für sein Alter, ist immer noch sehr charismatisch, nur hat er immer noch nicht sein Ego und seine anbiederung beim Publikum, wie auch sein Temperament, immer noch nicht unter Kontrolle. Kann durchaus noch was reißen, was allerdings auch mehr sein könnte, wenn er die vorherigen Punkte bearbeiten würde!"

[7.0] "Well, Juvi use to be one of the best, when he was young, now is kind of old and slow, of course, the injuries and the ages and all the extreme and hardcore matches but well, he still been a good wrestler, i would like see him fight more regular in AAA couse he found the Anarquía and was the leader and now is out of AAA?"

[8.0] "Guerrera on a good day, and against the right opponent, is capable of stealing the show, and in both the 1990s and early 2000s was 1 of the most exciting Lucha Libre wrestlers in the world. What he lacks is humility and character, as his real life ego is capable of white-washing his portfolio."

[8.0] "Ich fand ihn immer ganz gut vorallem in der WCW. Seine Matches gegen Rey, Jericho, Kidman und Ultimo Dragon haben mir auch immer gefallen. Auch einer der dem WCW-Cruiser-Titel so wertvoll machte. Schade das seine Regentschaften immer so kurz waren."

[6.0] "Juventud Guerrera hat eine schöne Technik, aber seine Moves könnten genauso gut von jedem anderen auch sein, er hat einfach nichts spezielles an sich. Gut ist er aber ohne Frage, 6 Punkte."

[7.0] "Hätte das Zeug (und auch das Charisma) gehabt aus dem Cruiserweight-Allerlei heraus in höhere Regionen zu stoßen. Aber (leider) hat sich oft genug sein Ego nicht als Topcard-fähig erwiesen. Schade um Juvi, der eigentlich n wirklich großes Talent ist."

[8.0] "Einer meiner ehemaligen Lieblingswrestler. Ich mag ihn irgendwie, egal ob in der WCW, inder WWE oder in NOAH. Gefällt mir schlicht und ergreifend einfach und hat einen echt coolen Wrestlingstil."

[5.0] "Könnte einer der besten High Flyer werden, komischerweise wurde ihm dieser Weg blockiert. Schade das man später in der WWE nicht mehr aus ihm gemacht hat."

[6.0] "Im Ring ist er ein super Cruiserweight-Wrestler. Charisma hat er auch. Nur seine dauernden Eskapaden ziehen die Wertung total runter. Ob das jemals ein Teil wird den er in den Griff bekommt, dass lasse ich mal offen.... Verbaute sich des öfteren schon selbst seine Karriere."

[6.0] "Hatte für einen Cruiserweight ordentlich Potential. In Ring-Skills klasse, aber sein Ego macht ihm die Karriere kaputt. Schade."

[6.0] "In der ECW und WCW damals ein super Wrestler, dann bei der WWE schlecht eingesetzt, bei NOAH gefiel er mir auch sehr gut. Eine 3 von mir"

[8.0] "Hat mir sowohl bei WCW als auch WWE gut gefallen! Ganz klar mein Liebling bei den Mexicools und hinter Eddie fast mein Lieblingsmexikaner!"

[8.0] "Guter Highflyer, der immer "fast" immer gute Matches gezeigt hat, ich muß schon sagen das Juvi mir in der WCW ein bischen besser gefallen hat wie in der WWE, aber in der WWE war Juvi ja auch nicht schlecht, schade nur das er gehen mußte!"

[4.0] "Hat Talent, hat Charisma. Leider steigt ihm der kleinste Erfolg immer sofort zu Kopf. Verdammt schade drum, er könnte heute auf einer Stufe mit Rey Mysterio stehen!"
