The undisputed Era was super fun and cool but now he is just in poor shape and not putting on the same quality of matches because of his huge complications. I hope to get back to 2016-2019 Cole as he was extremely good."

He doesn't need to be a huge bulky guy or anything, but he absolutely needs a little more weight and muscle mass because he can look very weak compared to others."

I wish him a speedy recovery with his ankle, and hope we get the true payoff from his program with MJF due to Max's laundry list of injuries he accrued in his year-long reign as AEW Champion."

A ROH Triple Crown Champion, one of the greatest NXT Champions of all time, 2022 Owen Hart Cup Winner, Adam is an astounding talent with many accolades. His AEW run may have started like a rollercoaster, but ever since his storyline with MJF, everything has gone up. He and Max were the 2 most popular wrestlers in the company during their tag run and it could've ended better if Adam didn't get injured at Grand Slam, but everything turned out perfectly fine with Adam revealing himself as the man who's caused so much turmoil for MJF and ended up being the true catalyst for his downfall. Adam will end up becoming AEW World Champion along with the Undisputed Kingdom by his side, adding to his many accolades and his golden career."
[5.0] "Good charisma, but he is over pushed. His entrance is the best part about him. But is wrestling is only okay and he's too small for his move set to look realistic. He'd be great as the king of a cruiser weight division, but he drags down higher level talent. His work with MJF was fun, but it made MJF's title run too silly. Hopefully he goes back to being a mid card heel where he thrives."
[9.0] ""The Panama City Playboy" himself, Adam Cole Bay Bay! Always been a fan of his, no matter what anyone says about his size, muscles, skin tone or booking in AEW. His best run is easily in NXT where he was a god, running an amazing faction in The Undisputed ERA, arguably the best NXT Champion in history, very good promo, wrestler, storyteller and very charismatic. While his AEW run has felt disappointing for a lot of people, we have to remember that his run in NXT can't be recaptured no matter what, but at least his work with MJF makes up for the first portion of his AEW run."
[6.0] "Adam Cole has got plenty of charisma but I have always been a little confused on what exactly others see in him that means he has been such a big part of every company he has been in. As a mid card guy then I absolutely enjoy him but he should be no where near top programmes or feuds. I am all a bit mystified. Fair play to him, very few people get to say they have main evented a show in front of 72, 000 - 85, 000 people (use whichever number will make you less angry at life)"
[5.0] "I thought Cole may improve after joining AEW, but no. If anything, I think even less of him after his most recent push as a main-eventer. Firstly, his offence is poor. Every big-move of his has 'tic-tac light' impact, since he's only ever concerned with hitting moves as quickly as possible, meaning he doesn't have enough time to make each attack look convincingly damaging. He also makes basically zero efforts to hide his blatant thigh-slap sound effects, which further highlights how unconvincing his offence is. Aside from the physical side of his offence, the way he structures his matches is even worse, since each of his 'big' matches up are overkill messes with thousands of his small handful of signature moves and finishers, plus a ridiculous number of near falls. It's all absolutely mind-numbing, with none of it 'meaning' anything because there's never any engaging strategy to any of what he does, he just tries to spam is few moves as much as possible, without regard for even giving them proper technique. One thing I *do* think Cole does quite well is his character work, but ONLY when playing a heel, since he can cut some convincingly smug and arrogant promos and show some rather good displays of charismatic cockiness during his matches. Whenever he tries to play babyface, however, is when he again reveals his limitations, since he is wholly incapable of appearing sympathetic, instead usually just looking bored whenever he attempts to do so. Another issue of Cole's is definitely his look. Yeah, yeah, we've moved past the simplistic 80s US mentality of only pushing brainless muscle-heads with zero wrestling skills, but c'mon, would it hurt Cole to take a protein shake every now or then? Or to lift an amount of weight greater than just his car keys once every few days? The dude is scrawny to an insane level for a supposed 'athlete', and it automatically makes AEW look inherently comical when this total string-bean of a guy is pushed as a top star capable of hanging with the other wrestlers on the roster who are *actually* in shape and/or who are shown to be genuinely strong. Finally, the latest thing that has soured me on Cole has been his recent warm embracement of comical segments and mid-match melodrama. His and MJF's scripted 'buddy' segments were initially okay if I viewed them from a pure comedy perspective, since I did find MJF to have naturally very funny delivery and timing in them, but from a storytelling perspective they were ridiculous and sloppily executed, with Cole himself looking like a massive dork in them. Even worse has been Cole returning to his NXT days with his hilariously over-the-top facial expressions and his general "tell don't show" attitude towards storytelling, with his most recent efforts with MJF at Wembley being outright terrible. Cole just isn't for me; he's much more for weird crossover of people who on one hand absolutely love spotfest wrestling, but who also love the unrestrained melodrama of soap operas."
[9.0] "After main-eventing the most (voluntarily) attended show in wrestling history, Adam Cole is at the height of his popularity. He has had a few incredible matches over the course of his career, particularly against Gargano and Page. He has always had great conditioning and has used his athleticism extremely well, although his technical prowess has never been impressive. He is also charismatic and is very good on the mic. What has held him back, and continues to hold him back, from being at the level of the best wrestlers on Earth is his over-reliance on gimmicks and his often overbooked matches."
[6.0] "I can't say I don't "get" Adam Cole. I just don't get how what Adam Cole is is pushed to the top of every company he works for. Cole's peak, to me, was in PWG; Future Shock worked the best match of their entire run there and as a singles heel/part of Mount Rushmore he really came into his own character-wise. Cole owes nearly his entire career to Kyle O'Reilly due to their insane chemistry as both partners and opponents from the start of their careers. As a character, I do think he is beyond most of his peers, with solid promos and excellent facial expressions. As a wrestler though, I just don't see it. Cole's ring work is slow, derivative, very stilted, inconsistent on selling, loaded with nearfalls, and punctuated with some real bad-looking offense like the Panama Sunrise. I hate having to shit on Cole because by all accounts he's supposed to be a great person, and he gets shit on for his look more than he should, but I found his ROH run tiresome after a while until he dropped the belt to Daniels on his way out, I found his NJPW run uninteresting, I found his NXT run massively overrated, and his AEW run seemed to be a repeat of his NXT run outside of this genuinely interesting MJF angle, but his ring work still unimpresses. I just can't think of a Cole match I liked that was good BECAUSE of Cole."
[6.0] "I've never enjoyed Adam Cole as much as I'd like to. His look isn't great due to his size and his babyface promos are average, especially when he's trying to be serious. I've always felt his matches are a bit indie (moves, moves, moves without much psychology or pacing) unless he's in there with a big time worker to elevate him. However when he's allowed to be a flashy tweener or heel, his character starts to show much more and he's a better in-ring worker too because he becomes more methodical and calculated."
[9.0] "Adam Cole has a lot of good matches in the past, especially as of late in AEW. It just took a while to click fully, especially with the injuries getting in his way. He is one of those guys who can deliver well under some great booking. That is not a bad thing considering his WWE NXT run also."

Undisputed Era was obviously amazing, and his time with Bullet Club and the Elite was very fun too. I like Cole, he is very good in the ring and has a lot of charisma, but he's just never clicked for me. I will come back and reassess him at a later time. Objectively, he is a very good wrestler, I can't deny that, but I just haven't seen enough from him that makes me say "he's the guy". I am very happy to be proven wrong and I will come back to this rating when I've seen more of what he can do."

Adam Cole's work is completely forgettable, who seems to have been carried to good matches with the plethora of great talent in NXT. His style doesn't stand out in AEW since it's more commonplace there, and Cole simply isn't impressive enough to make up for it. Apparently, his promo skills also went the wayside when he left NXT too. What a letdown. EDIT 5/2923: Stick to streaming, because this wrestling stuff isn't for you."

His moveset is awful, with the majority of his offense looking weak and the Panama Sunrise being one of my least favourite moves in wrestling. Unlike some of his contemporaries such as Kyle O'Reilly, he does not wrestle a style that makes up for his lack of size and as a result is unable to look credible against larger opponents. I do not find him believable at all. While he speaks confidently, I have yet to see him cut a memorable promo. He speaks solely in cliches and feels very much like a guy playing a role rather than being in any way authentic. His NXT main events were overly long, bloated, and full of ludicrous spots. I found his title reign unbearable. The only thing that has earned him a 3 is that he does have a number of matches that I really enjoyed earlier in his career (the Hybrid Fighting Rules match against Kyle O'Reilly and some of his PWG work, for example), but I don't think he has done anything that I've enjoyed since his match with Ricochet in 2019. Even that felt like it was the exception rather than the rule. When it comes to Adam Cole, I simply don't get it."

[6.0] "I am not sure what happened to Adam Cole making the transition from NXT to AEW. In NXT, he felt special, a star, a top guy. He was the leader of one of the most dominant, powerful, and best factions, The Undisputed ERA. He had memorable matches & feuds. His feud with Johnny Gargano deserved to be named 2019 Feud of the Year. He may be the greatest NXT World Champion of all time and his title defense matches were memorable to me as well. In NXT it felt like everything he did was a hit and he could not miss. But then, he goes to AEW and something changed. He no longer feels like a guy that is a hit, in fact, he feels more miss than hit. He feels like an overexposed, overpushed, overrated cutsey wrestler with barely any psychology (Spamming Superkicks, Flipping piledrivers, and Knee strikes) who cheats to win, runs with a clique, has a big mouth, and is having mediocre matches. I have just realized that Adam Cole is nothing but the male version of Britt Baker. MY GOD. Outside of his matches with Jungle Boy (great chemistry with him) & the Owen Hart Cup Tournament match with Dax Harwood (a master of psychology), it is hard to remember anything he does in AEW. Other than him bothering Hangman Page for World Title matches when Hangman had that title. I have zero interest in Adam Cole's AEW push and I do not want to see him near any championships in that company. A massive disappointment he has become in my eyes. He should not have been the first one in AEW to defeat Samoa Joe. That should have been someone like Wardlow. A fellow badass like Joe, who is a homegrown AEW guy, who is over with fans and could have used that rub. In ROH & on The Indies, Adam Cole was an 8/10 wrestler. In NXT, Adam Cole was a 9/10 wrestler. In AEW, I give Adam Cole a 6/10."

Give me a break."

I used to really dig his indie matches with Kyle O'Reilly but as I've watched back his work over the years and having consistently watched NXT and AEW I've gotten sick to my stomach of his style. Cole might be the biggest cosplay wrestler in mainstream wrestling today. He's one of the worst culprits of the 'style over substance' indie trash. I don't believe Cole could submit anyone. I don't believe he has the wrestling ability to beat any legitimate athlete. He's got no physique, he's shorter than everyone and he's scrawnier than everyone. But he slaps his thigh really hard and kicks out of every big move under the sun so he gets an insane amount of praise. He can flip his hair around and yell his catchphrases which pop the crowd but that doesn't make you a good worker. He can have a solid match if he's not the one leading it. Any time Cole indulges in his excessiveness it brings down match quality at an alarming rate."
[8.0] "I feel like the match against Dax Harwood has reminded some that Adam Cole can indeed go. Some have forgotten that he is a capable technical wrestler - something that I hope he employs more in his future matches. Besides his technical work, Adam Cole is a maestro of stringing together entertaining spots and engaging character work. Perhaps not a future AEW world champion, but absolutely someone that can help genuinely legitimise the AEW TNT title."

[6.0] "I really couldn't really care less about the guy. He's undersized and was probably the most intolerable indie talent I'd seen in a long while when he was in RoH. Way too much slap-kick spamming and big spots, not enough actual wrestling. When those tendencies are turned down, he's reasonably good: a strong and pretty agile hand in the ring who can emote well, show off multiple different expressions and whatnot. He's solid at playing a heel (albeit leans far too much into "cool guy heel" and plays to the crowd way the fuck too much in the process, this ruining the whole point of being a heel that people actually, you know, boo) but struggles immensely with being a face: he's just not one of those guys who can play one of those. The cocky heel stuff got played out to death in RoH, but I felt like the UE and a fresh coat of paint in NXT really helped to revitalise his career. Has he had great matches' Yes. Is he a great wrestler' Not by a long shot, especially given his limitations as outlined above. He's great at character work and on the mic, but the ring quality does bug me incredibly so, and I usually only like him when he's working with someone who can carry him to something beyond his usual expectations. He can do tag spotfests well by those standards. That being said, Cole is definitely not bad, just not to my tastes at all. He embodies a lot of the qualities that I don't enjoy and while his work is to be respected immensely, he's definitely not a main player at all and wouldn't even touch my top 100."

Between 2016-17, Cole had the worst years of his career in a in-ring perspective, with good matches here and there but most subpar matches (the Tanahashi singles match was a disappointment for me, for example). I didn't watch everything of his WWE work but I really liked what I've saw back then. One of the best!"

As part of Future Shock and during his initial heel turn, he showed a lot of promise, but something happened after that where he quickly devolved as a wrestler. He started relying on finisher and taunt spamming, as well as constantly working schtick, to the point where he felt like a one-trick pony and none of his matches had any gravitas. Even worse, he insists on working as a heel despite the fact that his catchphrases are insanely over and get him pops from the crowd. It makes absolutely no sense that a heel would be doing things to pop the crowd. When Daniel Bryan turned heel, he stopped doing the 'Yes' chant because he knew it was over with the crowd and would get him cheered. Cole continuing to do this shows he has absolutely no idea how to work as a true heel, and it often leads to him getting cheered while his opponent (the face in the match) gets booed. This isn't deep wrestling psychology we're talking about here, this is basic wrestling 101."

Cole is one of them. His mic skill is bad, and when he turned heel on O'Reilly it became even worse. When I watch an Adam Cole match, I already know it's gonna be annoying, and it always is."

Jetzt ist er noch bei ROH er hat noch einen Monat Vertrag dort und dann werden wir ja sehen wo er hingeht. Edit 03. 12. 2020 Ein wenig hat mich es überrascht wie Austin bei der WWE in NXT einschlug. Erfolge ohne Ende, dazu ist er ein sehr unterhaltsamer Gamer. Ich hoffe das er noch länger bei NXT bleibt."

When it comes to ring work, you can throw him in there with anyone and Cole will pull out a great match he proved that numerous times in 2019 against the likes of Gargano, Dunne, Daniel Bryan, Matt Riddle, Ricochet and the list goes on. Before despite being a great in-ring performer it was always clear his promo & character work were his best assets. Nowadays I'm not so sure because he has become one of the best in that ring. His promo work will always be top tier and his character development from being a coward who hid behind his faction to the leader who had to do it on his own to fulfill the prophecy was one of the best character arcs in the last few years as well. Adam Cole really hit the ground running in 2019 and has turned into like previously said arguably the most complete wrestler on the planet."

That being said, he is by no means bad and is capable of having good matches, but in a time where basically everybody is a great worker, he just doesn't stand out to me at all. He seems to be more confident on mic though but the only really good thing he does is yelling Adam Cole baybay. His heel work is also mediocre, average, dull for most of the time. [10.0] "... Baybay! Charismatisch, hat den Look, war schon immer ein WWE Superstars mit WWE-Moveset in einer Indy-Umgebung. Sein Run bei NXT war da einfach überfällig. Im Ring war er noch nie der typische Indy Thrillseeker, der mit einem Overkill wilde Movesalven rausschießt. Wirkte im Vergleich zu anderen Kollegen schon bei ROH und (besonders) PWG eher besonnen, wenngleich seine Offensive sehenswert ist. Nach kurzer Anpassungszeit an dem im PC vermittelten WWE-Stil unterstreicht Cole, dass er sich in Sachen Ring-Psychologie, Aufbau und Pacing spielerisch an die neue Umgebung angepasst hat, zumal es schon immer eher sein Stil war. Wenn ich mich an die Schlussphase des Ricochets-Matches bei TakeOver Brooklyn IV erinnere, strahlt die genau das aus, was mir an seiner Offensive so gefällt. Die Moves sitzen und bedeuten etwas. So klickt er zwar nicht mit jedem, aber im Ring gehört er dennoch zu den Besseren. Seine volle Punktzahl holt Cole aber beim Gesamtpaket. Am Mikro ist er so natürlich, dennoch intensiv und pointiert, dass mancher NXT-Kollegen neidgelb werden dürfte. Sein Look ist gut, könnte für das WWE-Umfeld wohl etwas breiter sein, aber im Gesamtpaket mit Charisma und Mic-Skills, schreit sein Auftreten eigentlich immer Star. Sein NXT-Run fühlt sich bisher nach einem guten Aufbau an. Erster North American-Champion, aber nicht sofort der Griff zum NXT Championship. Die Undisputed ERA ist die bisher wichtigste und größte NXT-Gruppierung. Der Wechsel zum Main Roster wird (leider) nur eine Frage der Zeit sein, aber wenn der Call-Up gelingt, hat man direkt einen neuen Star bei RAW oder SmackDown, da er so komplett ist, dass es eben kein NXT-Ding ist, sondern ein Wrestling-Ding. Ist niemand mit einem extrem spektakulären, breiten Moveset aber liefert immer mindestens solide bis gute Matches ab und ist da sehr konstant. Seine größte Stärke ist die Einbeziehung seines Characterworks in seine Performances im Ring. Insgesamt 9 Punkte für einen Wrestler, den ich in ROH schon sehr gemocht habe und der hoffentlich seinen Weg in der WWE geht."

But after Future Shock split up, what made me think that he was going to be a great singles star was when I watched his hybrid fighting rules match with Kyle O'Reilly at Best In The World 2012 and I saw the true heart, guts, and toughness of Adam Cole after he got a deep gash on his upper lip from a stiff shot by O'Reilly and he continued the match despite losing a lot of blood from his mouth. That moment and that great match instantly made me think Adam Cole was going to be a great singles competitor in ROH and then not long after that, he won the TV title and held it for a long time until he lost it recently so thankfully I was right! Not only that but Adam Cole won me over even more as of late in his current feud with Matt Hardy because I'm now seeing more fire and more passion from him in his promos because of this program he's having right now with Hardy! If Adam Cole ever goes to WWE, I think he could be a great singles star there too if WWE utilizes an amazing talent like him the right way!"

Seine Promofähigkeiten sind mittlerweile auch sehr solide, so dass man schon ein wenig Angst haben muss das die WWE vielleicht mal anklopft. Hoffen wir es mal nicht so bald."

Starker Wrestler, der auch nicht unbedingt zum Overkill neigt, sondern auch mal "einfach" ein gutes Match zeigen kann. Sowohl als Heel als auch als Face überzeugend und definitv jemand, auf den man mindestens ein Auge gerichtet haben sollte, wenn es um die Zukunft des Indy-Wrestlings geht."

[7.0] "Hat zur Zeit eine Menge Momentum. Nicht ganz unverdient, wie ich finde. Er ist sehr charismatisch, sehr talentiert und gerade die Heel Rolle in Kombination mit Mia Yim steht ihm sehr gut. Mal schauen was weiter aus ihm wird, aber da ist noch großes Potential für mehr."

[8.0] "Zuerst fand ich Tyler Veritas besser nach den ersten Matches die ich von den beiden gesehen hatte, aber Cole hat dann einen riesen Sprung in seiner Entwicklung gemacht und ist mittlerweile wohl einer der besten Junior Heavyweight's in der US-Indyszene."
[6.0] "Cole hat durchaus die Anlagen sich bei ROH durchzusetzten. Hab ihn bei wXw live gesehen und der Junge ist für sein Alter wrestlerisch schon extrem gut."
[6.0] "Kaum zu glauben, dass DJ Hyde und Jon Dahmer diesen Mann trainiert haben sollen, denn er hats wirklich drauf. Mit etwas mehr Ringerfahrung kann durchaus einiges aus ihm werden."
