812.04.2024Perc Angle8.0If you asked me in 2013 or something I would probably rate him like a 5. He was very boring at that time but 2015 rolled around and he had a career renaissance. Ever since then he has been one of my favorites and became respected by the fan base. It has made me realize how great he was match wise in that 05 to 09 era. He had a horrible run from 10 to 14 but it made his comeback even sweeter

1507.04.2024cal90999.0People hate on Cena for his long title runs and seeming invincibility, but the guy is one of the greatest babyfaces of all time and ultimate company man. Very average in ring but great promo ability and an extremely hard worker.
1607.04.2024Bean19856.0Hes the new generation Hulk Hogan; pushed by the company for what he represented as an athlete, but if youre looking for an athlete, entertainer and somebody to sympathize with, hes not the guy, just look elsewhere
1705.04.2024igskillfart7.0This dud literally was the face of the wwe between 2006-2015, my man was literally wwe, he was great wrestler literally putting on fantastic matches that is still adored to this day, the dude is one of the best talkers on the mic, he brings a crowd in like its nothing. you have to respect this guy, although there is one thing i dont like about him, he killed peoples careers, thats why im rating him a 7 only the fact he killled 3 careers and almost killed kofis.

1904.04.2024YellowJournalism10.0The man carried a company through an entire era. Very few have been able to achieve anything close to what John Cena has. He was a great wrestler that knew how to get fans involved. Cena was also incredibly consistent, you knew what you were going to get when he was on the show.

2926.03.2024BruceMarcos5247.0I have mixed feelings about this guy. Surely Cena doesn't have the work rate as Kenny Omega or Bryan Danielson has. But in terms of the impact and contributions in the business, Cena has it. Regardless of mixed reactions with the crowd, Cena is always the talk of the town. Of course, I wouldn't carry him for his wrestling ability for bringing like 4- or 5-star matches, he is not even a 5-star match guy. But due to sheer popularity, he carries guys like CM Punk, Bray Wyatt, Daniel Bryan (or Bryan Danielson), AJ Styles, Seth Rollins hell even Roman Reigns to superstardom. When Rock and Austin left, WWE doesn't have a dependable guy to be the next main attraction star. They tried with Triple H but failed, they tried with Kurt Angle but failed, they tried with Brock Lesnar but quickly left the company. It is until Cena steps into the plate and made the final years of once great WWE watchable by millions and garnered around 4-5 million viewership on cable TV. No doubt Cena is a great company guy and always will be. Also, the man is on fire by cooking his opponents on the microphone, a savage guy verbally. Glad that the hatred was gradually fainted, and Cena becomes one of the most respected performers in WWE nowadays. Decent performer overall.
3025.03.2024ultravioletshiroi9.0I don't know how to rate him. I know he's technically one of the best workers in WWE and I know that he can put on a good match with just about anyone and entertain the crowd, and I loved his rapper gimmick in WWE but to anyone who actually cares about wrestling as a sport he's undeniably one of the most boring wrestlers ever, possibly even more boring than the Big Show. He's a great worker and can sell pretty well. Problem is he pretty much started the whole archetype of the invincible superhero babyface with no distinguishable personality and incredibly predictable matches to the point of being likened to a super hero, being the predecessor of that to Roman Reigns. If I wanted to watch a superhero wrestle I'd watch Hurricane and Rosey matches. Unstoppable babyface characters are only over with children and marks and when every match is written to be the exact same it takes away a crucial component of wrestling psychology which is unpredictability. You can have suspense but if you know that Cena is going to get the crap kicked out of him just so he can magically heal away all damage done to him so he can hit his 5 moves of doom (2 of which are the same move because Cena barely has any moves in the first place) it's not entertaining.

3221.03.2024HailStorm6.0Cena's proficiency on the microphone is indeed one of his strongest suits. His ability to connect with the audience, whether he's playing a hero or a villain, has consistently been a highlight of his career. Cena's promos are energetic, often humorous, and sometimes intensely personal, allowing him to engage with fans on a deeper level. His skill in cutting promos has helped elevate numerous storylines and feuds, making them more compelling and must-see TV. In the ring, Cena has often been criticized for having a limited moveset, referred to humorously as "The Five Moves of Doom." Despite this, he has demonstrated an ability to put on memorable matches against a wide variety of opponents. Cenas willingness to absorb punishment and his remarkable resilience have become hallmarks of his style. Hes known for his storytelling in matches, able to convey a narrative of never giving up, which resonates strongly with his fanbase,

3418.03.2024Mike Ehrmantraut5.0John Cena is the emblem of the skilled and charismatic wrestler ruined by an embarassing and childish gimmick. It's not easy to rate him but I prefer stay on 5 due to the countless Super Cena moments across the years, some of them promoted by himself (denoting a great lack of humble).

4429.02.2024CorpusSkiptotelicum9.0He was a great figure to lead the WWE through the dark ages of the PG era. Grew a lot as a wrestlers during those years and eventually became one of the best in the world, though never the most polished or the flashiest, he understood the narrative aspects of wrestling and made his limited moveset look really good. Many of the greatest matches in company history involve him and thats no triviality. Even if he became a tad formulaic in the hundreds of routine TV matches he had... and his bad habit of spot calling, he rightfully earned his place as an in ring great. As a character, he was very inconsistent and him never turning heel is a massive missed opportunity. An excellent speaker even if he had a bad habit of no selling promos from his foes. Its true however that his long stay at the top could have been handled better, super cena became old fast and all the hate he got is understandable, But that's on Vince, not him.

5122.02.2024SJ Miller One of the greatest to ever do this. Dedicated to getting the maximum out of every opportunity, top tier promos, knows how to play to his strengths in the ring and tell a story that audiences will pay to see. Unfairly labelled as the problem at the onset of the 'workrate' era, has predictably become far more respected after his full-time career ended
5221.02.2024Enchantium8.0John Cena will probably always be the most known wrestler ever. Typically seen as like Marmite, some fans love him and others hate him. He has accomplished and helped the business bloom since his tenure in the company, and he will always be recognised as a future Hall of Famer. He was never really one of my favourites of all time, but he will always be a highly respected individual who was probably one of the best talkers on the mic that the WWE will ever have and a good ring worker. The only issue is that he talks a tad loud, so most people can hear the next move coming from his mouth before it is presented.

6619.01.2024skybo9010.0There's a reason John Cena is referred to as one of the greatest of all time. In terms of his technical ability, he may not have be as good as others. However, what he lacks/lacked in ability, he made up for on the mic, and with his charisma. Cena knew how to control a crowd like only a handful of wrestlers in history could.
6719.01.2024wrestling fan 1 John Cena is a good wrestler. I love his matches with Randy Orton, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns and more. He is also an incredible human being. I love what he does for Make a Wish Foundation. I like all of his merchandise. I am sad that he might be retiring soon. I will also remember watching my first wrestling show and it was John Cena vs Batista at Wrestlemania 2010. So many childhood memories from him

The way he was booked from his first World Championship win in 2005 through to WrestleMania 31 and his 2015 United States Championship Open Challenge is, by far, the biggest reason he's not rated 10 by the vast majority of people on here.

8919.12.2023devxnte9.0Cena's longevity is a testament to how he could make almost anything work. I think somehow, Cena is a bit underrated in the ring still. He's past it as I am writing this (or his opponents just aren't that good); However, Cena is a person you would totally build your company around. In his prime, he could sell the importance of a match, he could deliver really really good to great matches and he could make people look like a million bucks. He could sell a story through his expressions. One of my favorite tropes of all time is Cena going into hostile territory (ONS 06 and MITB 2011). He's great at playing the man who should win but is letting the foreign crowd reactions getting to him. I love how his entrance is different, his demeanor is different, but he still is just John Cena, the franchise. He could always have a good match. In the first half of his career, weapons had to be involved but he could have a great match (TLC with Edge, Umaga LMS, I Quit with JBL) but his second half has been legendary. Punk, Rock, Bryan, Styles, Rollins, Cesaro, Reigns, Owens. He has had great match after great match. He's the last superstar in wrestling. I've been going back between 8 and 9 but I'm going to stick with 9. Cena is one of the last wrestlers with crossover appeal. He can have a great match, he can have a great story, and while his catalogue of matches aren't up there with a Bryan Danielson, a Misawa, or even honestly a CM Punk, he is still one of the greatest to ever do it.

9309.12.2023HugoRoids10.0I know Cena was never the best worker at any moment in his career, but I genuinely think him as a person and as a character is enough to land him a 10. He got so much better in the ring as the years went on and by 2011 he could put on legitimate 5 star matches with the likes of Bryan, Punk, Styles, Orton, Cesaro, and more. He diversified his move set as well which is something I always appreciate in a wrestler. Also he held down the WWE fort for a decade which is seriously admirable. Outside of the ring he's just as good of a person as he is on screen. Love Cena and I hope he's remembered as fondly even further down the line as he is now. He's Hulk Hogan if he had actual wrestling abilities.
9409.12.2023just JCfan John Cena is one of the most respected wrestlers because he never showed aggression. With a microphone, it is perfect both in the ring and as a finisher. He was my childhood, I hope he keeps coming back to WWE.

9608.12.2023Xiang John is a very good man. When I read his twitter posts he always says motivational quotes. We always found John very entertaining. He can do promo talks very well and he can wrestle long matches and have the crowd excited. On my bucket list is to meet John so I can thank him for many years of entertainment.
9706.12.2023lemdawg9.0
9803.12.2023danzitorock7.0John Cena is a wrestler I've always hated and rooted against growing up... I thought he was limited in the ring and despised the fact he was almost invincible, buried other talents and received undeserving opportunity after opportunity for the major titles. I'm never going to enjoy when a pro-wrestler is treated and booked like a superhero, so I was never a Cena fan. But on the other hand, he is a safe worker that was involved in great matches and storylines and it's a fantastic talker, his mic skills are amazing. He's an undeniable draw that managed to create a huge and loyal fanbase (especially kids), so I have to give him flowers. After 2015 I've enjoyed his work a lot more. Overall he's a good and notorious worker that just wasn't what I look for in a wrestler, but the world doesn't revolve around me.
9929.11.2023Bar7867887.0
10027.11.2023Dntbamark6.0Cena was a prop, he was a guy that Vince knew he could have on the top of the card who would never stray far from the yard and leave for greener and less painful pastures like Brock Lesnar or The Rock did. People who compare him to Hogan, Andre, Macho-Man, Austin or Rock in terms of drawing power and level of superstardom need to re-evaluate their standards. Was Cena over as a babyface and a massive draw for the company? Sure but look at how WWE's viewership numbers declined from the time he was on top until now. The truth that no-one seems to want to admit was that Cena drove away more fans than he ever brought in, he was a guy Vince knew he could use to appeal to sponsors, families and kids and continue to make money despite himself. Cena's saving grace was his promo ability, marketable look and natural charisma, he was never a great worker and never that great at being a pro wrestler. The only thing he really had in common with Hogan or Austin was his selfishness and need to always be on top despite fans long growing tired of his schtick. Don't believe? name one talent whom Cena put over and made a viable star out of during his run on top of the company. The best thing you can say about John is that he was incredible on the microphone and made a ton a money off the business despite it's continued viewership decline.
