[3.0] "The problem was the first I saw of him, where his MSG matches. Madison Square Garden did not allow for a fully masked individual to compete until Mil Mascaras, the result was an open faced hood. The open faced hood exposed him and gave the viewer nothing but this clean shaven, middle aged, pudgy Mexican man who had obviously seen brighter and better years. Eh. The full hood on television brings in all of this wonder and mystique and you like to think he's so... different! But no. He's just this poor looking, middle aged, pudgy Mexican man. The MSG stuff really does nuke the guy entirely. He *NEEDED* the full mask gimmick."

[7.0] "I liked him. He was a good preliminary worker, who occasionally spilled over into the mid card. One of the first WWWF workers to regularly use a mask. His signature move was the drop kick while everyone else was mat wrestling. This would always give his rallies more excitment, to the point where there was actual anticipation of the move. For a preliminary match, this was and still is signficant. The shadow of Mil Mascaras, from several states away, did take away from the mask gimmick."
