5 | 04.06.2023 | Conquistador37 | 9.0 | EDIT, The review is essentially the same but points have been added: The more I explore Ivan Koloff's career, the more I appreciate & respect his contributions to wrestling. This man had remarkable longevity and was able to elevate & teach all who were in his presence (Nikita Koloff, Barry Darsow, The Warlord & The Barbarian all immediately spring to mind). Was always 110% comfortable behind the mic and is probably one of the all time most underrated guys in that regard. His aerial assault was ahead of the time and he was an excellent tag team worker as well. In many ways he was one of the most vital of organs in the Crockett/Mid Atlantic territory. Even deep into his years he had a surprising explosiveness. Certainly underrated. |

11 | 29.12.2021 | Sloppy Sammy | 8.0 | A fantastic heel, his gimmick was a product of its time and was a little silly but he played the role well. A great brawler and a giving wrestler in the ring, he would usually give the better job guys a bit of offense and was great at getting others over. Underappreciated talent. |

20 | 10.08.2019 | JEK 1991 | 10.0 | Great heel/villain. He could pull it off very well. Being billed as a Soviet/Russian was something back in the day. He was decent in the ring. He was exciting to watch but was great at submission moves. |

22 | 31.07.2019 | KyleEnjoysWrestling | 6.0 | The most famed Russian who was actually Canadian, Ivan Koloff happened to get a lot of his notoriety due to the fact that he played the evil foreign villain character at a time when the WWE was looking for just that. He did little more between the ropes aside from brawling. He had the mean look down & was an intimidating character. There were other power men around at the time who were far more charismatic & much better wrestlers, but they couldn't be billed from Russia, so Koloff got the nod. |
23 | 16.03.2019 | Kevin41182 | 7.0 | Though he wasn't the best in-ring worker, Koloff knew in-ring psychology and used it well. If the word "foreign heel" was in the dictionary, he would be the picture right next to it. |

34 | 07.06.2016 | mdkarl | 8.0 | knew his psychology... but was an old man by the time we saw him on national tv. in his prime he was a believable opponent for bruno sammartino. i guess he went close to 300 pounds in those days. by the time i started seeing him in 1982 a decade later, he went around 240 tops... and he seamed old... so its tempting to say he wasnt a great worker. this guy was good though and the biggest promoters in the country felt comfortable main eventing him |
35 | 10.04.2015 | Brianjackson | 7.0 | Ivan Koloff was a good professional wrestler whose lengthy career is admirable. While not the best worker, he was able to generate great heat as a killer heel, as evidenced by the famous reaction when he pinned Bruno Sammartino in the Garden. His later career and personal life went up and down, but he will go down in history as a great heel and an important part of North American wrestling history. |
