17.01.2025 | Shadow Explosion | 4.0 | There's a lot of wrestlers who have been overpushed in the history of wrestling, but at least with most of them you can see a reason why, whether it's their ornate charisma, their superstar looks, or only really having an in-ring ability to somewhat back up the hype. This guy ain't got any of those. Matt Stryker (with a Y not to be confused with the more famous commentator with I) was beyond overpushed during the early years of Ring of Honor as this "Pure Technical Savant" but goddamn was he boring. I've going through this catalog and there isn't a single match rating where it's above a 6 for me. He's ok, but he's painfully okay. They gave him Twenty Minutes with AJ Styles one of the best wrestlers in history, and it painfully okay. AJ couldn't even get something out of this guy! He was really bad on the mic having zero charisma and didn't seem comfortable and his look is one of the ugliest I've seen with the bushiest unibrow in human kind. This dude is just super mediocre and could've been an okay midcard dude. Except he won the fucking first Field of Honor Tournament, This was your pick for your first ROH G1. Eyebrows McNoPersonality. At least he's better than the other guy that shares his name.

29.10.2024 | MrBigPiece | 7.0 | People, THIS IS NOT MATT STRIKER OF WWE & LUCHA UNDERGROUND FAME, SOMEONE PLEASE REMOVE THOSE RATINGS. Matt Stryker was a solid wrestler who I always felt could easily slot into the midcard of any big company, that could've gave him the chance. Solid in the ring with a unique look (the unibrow), his team with Chad Collyer doesn't get enough credit as both men were nothing short of excellent together. A common takeaway from Stryker is that he is a charismatic black hole, while it may be true, I really don't think it was necessary for anywhere he did work nor did he need it for the spot he was put in, or the ones he could've potentially been in. It sucks his name was stolen by one of the worst commentators and below average cornballs in recent history.

25.05.2023 | Giantfan1980 | 5.0 | Average in the ring. But I wanna give Stryker a bonus point for not being absolute crap on commentary in a time when we had to listen to a disinterested Jerry Lawler struggle along with a heel Michael Cole! Dude could actually call a match and sound like he knew stuff about wrestling and not just jawing away on dumb crap that had nothing to do with what was going on in the ring.
14.04.2023 | crs285 | 6.0 | He had good technical abilities but lacked something to make me really care about him in the ring. Was pretty good on the mic. My favorite role for him was opposite Vampiro as a commentator in Lucha Underground.

10.08.2016 | Strezemann | 5.0 | Stryker delivered solid technical showcases, but didn't show much personality and never really showed that he could turn things up to a higher gear. I remember him being as technically adept as anyone in Ring of Honor, so he definitely had great talent, but nobody bought him as a tournament winner, title challenger, or really anyone other than a decent midcard act.
