[7.0] "He had a great look, physically and was a great wrestler. He didn't have the charisma that Kerry had, but he held his own in the ring."

[7.0] "A decent wrestler and a fine territory star. Kevin was a good wrestler but he lacked charisma, showmanship and excitement but he did have the fundamentals down well."

[9.0] "Probably my favorite of the bunch. Despite the obvious family legacy, Kevin had tremendous technical skill as a wrestler and an athlete. He had a great understanding of wrestling fundamentals and was capable of executing a variety of moves with precision. While he may not have been as flashy or acrobatic as some of his contemporaries, his in-ring abilities were respected by fans and peers alike. Kevin portrayed the classic babyface persona well, embodying the "good Christian values" of a heroic and virtuous wrestler who stood bold and strong against the evils of wrestling. I feel like Kevin's accomplishments in the business are not talked about enough as he was able win numerous championships throughout the 1980s and played a crucial role in the success of his father's WCCW promotion. His accomplishments include holding the NWA American Heavyweight Championship and the WCWA World Heavyweight Championship. Kevin's impact on the wrestling world goes beyond his in-ring achievements. The tragic deaths of his brothers cast a shadow over the family, but Kevin's resilience and commitment to the business helped keep the Von Erich name alive. When it comes to anything in regards to the Von Erich's, they're either going to remembered as Texas heroes or as cautionary tales about parental influence, sibling rivalry and various dangers of the professional wrestling business. No doubt that Fritz's influence and power over his sons greatly contributed to each of their respective downfalls but Kevin is no doubt a survivor whose resilience and determination alone have left a lasting legacy, and he remains an important figure in the history of professional wrestling."

[7.0] "Kevin may have been the most underrated of the von Erichs. He might not have had quite the same "it" factor that David or Kerry had, but still had a lot going for him in his own right, including a great physique and a fast, athletic in-ring style with aerial maneuvers that could be seen as an early form of the high-flying style. He might have been at his very best while tagging up with Kerry, or with various permutations of the von Erichs in six-man action. He wouldn't make the jump to singles main event status, but ultimately Kevin would be the one of his generation to escape the "von Erich curse, " and his sons Marshall and Ross are now carrying on the family torch."

[7.0] "His early 80's work is total fire for the era, which made him a real stand out. A pioneer in many ways. Offense was not only an aerial assault, but a varied submission skill set as well. The most physically and athletically gifted of the Von Erich's, though lacking the psychology of David and the "super star" element that Kerry possessed. His best stuff was against The Fabulous Freebirds & Chris Adams, but he struggled to find compelling programs with others. By the time he became a "part timer" things fell WAY off. His last few years are full of screw jobs and non matches, and then him bitching about it (when the reality was he was difficult to do business with). His fatal flaw was treating WORK as if it were a shoot. A real thrill to watch up until around '87... right when he needed to be the most professional and forward thinking."

[8.0] "talent/charisma and passion... could be an 8 no question about it. overall long term dedication wasnt there. the loss of his brothers and the fall of his promotion pretty much killed his desire to be involved in wrestling there was a lot of drug abuse along with his brothers... didnt help but you see kevin on one of his good days... he had a good ability in the ring and easily would have been near the top of any promotion he went into... on his good days... he was a notch below david and Kerry for upper potential. I rate them 10s. kevin didnt look out of place with them but was in their shadow a bit"

[7.0] "My personal favorite Von Erich. An awesome look, could cut a good promo, and could actually work the crowd unlike Kerry. Obviously Kevin had his personal problems too, but for the most part he was always enjoyable to watch and far more capable of putting on a comprehensive performance than Kerry or Mike. Plus Kevin coming out to "Stranglehold" by Ted Nugent was always amazing."

[7.0] "Probably the most athletically gifted Von Erich. While Kerry had the "Greek God" body, Kevin was the one who could do the true wrestling moves, he had an outstanding dropkick. And he did it while not wearing shoes(seems dangerous to me) . He would enter the ring to "Tom Sawyer" by Rush, and was always an entertaining wrestler. He was also the only one to escape the Von Erich curse."
