119.04.2024Bryan20003.0Goldberg IS NOT A WRESTLER, he was always limited, but his physique and presence saved him. You could say he was a lump. He really hasn't aged well as a wrestler. His legacy has been very tarnished. And for obvious reasons he was never my favorite wrestler.

1311.03.2024ultravioletshiroi6.0Goldberg is someone who's difficult to rate, because while he wasn't a good wrestler he was extremely good at what he did. As a kid growing up I drew a liking to Goldberg immediately due to his charisma and intensity. He had an amazing entrance and looked like a beast in the ring. However he couldn't wrestle. I can't rate a wrestler highly if they can't wrestle. Maybe he was better at football than he was at wrestling.

1501.03.2024mxkami1.0An attraction, not a wrestler. I witnessed Goldberg's debut in WCW as a 9-year-old. He was TAILOR-MADE for someone like me. And I never got Goldberg or his schtick of squash, or be blown up and look f****** horrid in ring. Also, I may have been 9, but I know for a fact that this dude was not winning 100+ matches before he faced Hogan at the Georgia Dome. Dude would concuss himself before every entrance by smashing his forehead into his locker until he was bloody (which, Sandman did better), he ended Bret Hart's career, he almost killed Scott Steiner at Fall Brawl 2000 (which, Steiner had every right to beat Goldberg's ass until the bell with receipts and just straight shooting on him)... This dude SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS, y'all. Call me a s*** wrestling fan, but 13 second squashes do not pop me. Most squashes don't, for that matter. Unsafe worker, charisma vacuum, and I'll close off by saying this: "Super Showdown 2019".

2301.02.2024KEI3.0His career in WCW was dominant and the audience loved him, but Goldberg is one of the most poor in-ring performers for his size in the company at the time, and a dangerous performer to work with as well. First WWE run was average, second is terrible. 3 out of 10

2724.01.2024BruceMarcos5243.0Goldberg is one of the unimpressive performers in wrestling today. No doubt during his WCW and first WWE run, he was solid and dominant. One of the best rookie years of any wrestler's career. One of the most impressive undefeated streaks in all of wrestling, 173-0. He should've retired at that point since his second WWE run is lacklustre. It was still good when he returned at Survivor Series 2016 and made a shocking moment of beating Brock Lesnar in under 2 minutes. But when WWE decided to make him the Universal Champion, it all goes downhill from there. Overtime, he got worse, and his matches were terrible. He doesn't have the shape anymore to perform in the ring due to lack of stamina and more prone to botches. So sad to see this state of Goldberg, but it seems money talks in WWE, right? One of the biggest mistakes of his career is when he beats Bray Wyatt, who has a very protected and dominant run as The Fiend, quick and clean and thus ruining Bray's mystique. He is unbelievably strong, but his legacy was tarnished because of his second WWE run. Although, he has one of the best Spears in the business, at least I'll give him credit for that.

3117.01.2024SoaKas5.0I mean...he was over in his prime and all of his stuff looked believable and seemed like it legitimately hurt the other guy. However, he was never really the best wrestler in any way shapenor form other than look and intensity. Those two things can get you far (just look at Goldberg's carreer) but that's about it. Since the Goldberg hype was at a time I wasn't even born, I'll just leave it at that.

3309.01.2024GriffinX5.0Classic case of could do a few things fairly well, got booked in a way that always made him look good but once he went past 3 minutes or you saw more than 3 of his matches you had seen it all.
3401.01.2024Madlad1.0I hate this guy even in his prime he was just a squash machine with only 2 intersting moves.his late run was godawful burrying likes of Kevin Owens and Fiend.his matches are boring or even hard to watch he almost killed Undertaker and himself in that horrible match they had. Oldberg run was one of the worst ever. Every match he legit had problem with even breathing it's clear no gas is left in this old tank. terrible workrate overall.zero character work and intersting feuds, dangerous and unsafe matches (even in his prime he retired Bret Hart). Only 1 point for his prefect Spear..

4103.12.2023danzitorock1.0Bill Goldberg is a disgrace for professional wrestling. He is completely awful in the ring, and has nearly zero skills whatsoever, terrible workrate. His character is extremely generic and I bore myself to death every time he talks on a microphone. He's a dangerous and unsafe worker that destroyed careers and kept burying talent and having lame squash matches for his entire career. The fact that he is idolized by some fans and wrestlers and was treated like an unbeatable figure for the whole time makes me want to vomit.

4720.11.2023JediSaiyanMaster12038.0I have to be honest, I love the Goldberg gimmick, at least when he had the streak. His rating isn't higher due to his booking plummeted after the streak ended. Sure, he was never a good wrestler, and he is similar to The Ultimate Warrior. But here's the difference, Warrior never cared to improve his wrestling abilities while Goldberg was new to the business when he got pushed and didn't get the grasp of the business properly because he was from the WCW power plant. So I give Goldberg a pass because he at least did well when he did squash matches and did have some entertaining matches with people like DDP and Scott Steiner, if only he got proper training. Overall, a fun gimmick from WCW who did well in looking intimidating and was a believable badass in his prime. WHO'S NEXT?

5404.11.2023Javier Redondo4.0A good squasher. That's all. Because when he is asked to wrestle, he is lost like a child in the ring (remember the match versus William Regal) . If you add to that the fact that he was totally unsafe and destroyed careers. You get an average wrestler who was overpushed to make up for his mediocrity.

5906.10.2023pave9.0Goldberg may be limited in the ring, but he makes up for that with amazing intensity and physical charisma. he is completely believable in everything he does, and elevates the credibility of any match/story/rival he is a part of or works with. he has been involved in numerous memorable moments, even if he hasn't had numerous great matches. not everything is about workrate or getting 5 stars. wrestling is better when Goldberg is a part of it, that's why he's a 9 for me.

6627.09.2023cioran In hindsight he's a terrible to uneven worker and in his early career he was a botch machine. He never worked a good match with anyone other than DDP or the Steiners before about 2003. So much charisma though and when he put on a match, it was a match. It's bizarre. Objectively all those squash matches were terrible. It's like ska punk and mushroom haircuts. I swear to God it made sense at the time.

6921.09.2023Conquistador372.0(Hard Edit) So there's this thing I've been doing the last few years: Deep diving the careers of those on Smackdown! : Here Comes The Pain (and my CAW's) to make certain their move sets are as accurate to reality as possible. Goldberg was near the last of the list, as I was never a fan. However, after rewatching his WCW stuff and *only* his matches... there *is* a small amount perverse joy in watching him MURDER! DEATH! KILL! some of the undercard and a few specific main eventers. (Cagematch wants more characters so here you go: He went from a zero to a two, that's quite the leap! )

7303.09.2023Gold Fists3.0He has a nice looking spear, I'll give him that much. The problem is... it still doesn't take away the fact that he's probably coming close to hurting people with it. Goldberg is just an all-around unsafe worker, and I don't think I'd care much if he actually doesn't come back. No idea why he got so popular in 1997-98... for some reason that happened to bald guys with a beard.

7530.08.2023staabi2hotty5.0A terribly overrated and overpushed wrestler. Once you take the rose tinted glasses of nostalgia off yourself watching his matches it is glaringly obvious to see this. I will give Goldberg credit in having amazing stage presence and knowing how to draw but even in that he had his hand held majorly by superior talents and backstage politicked his way up.

8308.08.2023ViolenceBret5.0A strong contender for the most overrated professional wrestler of all time. Bill Goldberg, a man so clumsy and uncoordinated he nearly killed a few people in the ring. Moreover, he would frequently injure himself in the most dumb ways possible. Cynicism aside, Bill Goldberg had a good look, not too striking or memorable, but he looked tough. In terms of speaking ability, well not much there. Oh he had intensity and his entrance was fantastic, but that's really about it. Good powerhouse with a solid spear, yet he was just so clumsy if he tried anything else someone could die. WCW really wanted a fresh star and well, this seemed like a good option for a conventional professional wrestler. At least the Ultimate Warrior was flashy. 5.8/10 might sound harsh, but let's be real here, he wasn't very engaging.
8403.08.2023bugaxtreme7.0Goldberg was the man who got me hooked on wrestling. The way he was presented and book by WCW in the late 1990s impressed the 6 years old me. I remember vividly when he speared Rocco Rock trough a table, and I was so impressed that I started watching wrestling frequently Although not a great technical worker. he will always be my first wrestling love.

8921.07.2023gargoylesmain2.0Didn't care about Goldberg as a kid (I was a Jericho fan), and don't care about him now. Obviously hindsight is at play when considering much of his WCW run, but his later runs in WWE were inexcusable, both in booking and in performance. Exposed by Regal, never improved, continued to be a one trick buffoon riding nostalgia and burying younger talent - and nearly killing multiple people, including himself, through his own gross incompetence. Was a huge star and seems like a good dude, but if you can't wrestle a decent match longer than 90 seconds you're not for me.

9114.07.2023NickJammer22218.0
9212.07.2023BigDave1239.0I'm a Goldberg mark and obviously he's not the best worker but he wasn't there to have 20-30 minute bangers he was there to have quick paced, explosive action which was exactly what he did. He was also capable of having good matches in WCW and the issue with his 1st WWE run was they kept putting him in 15 minute slower matches which wasn't his style.
9310.07.2023DhruvChouhan1.0Perhaps the worst wrestler ever to get a consistent main event status. Almost no redeeming quality; bad in ring, couldnt cut promo to save his life and gimmick being one dimensional. A point for having undeniably great personality.

9626.06.2023Jersey Jimmy5.0Goldberg was kind of the prototype for Brock Lesnar, and pretty much everything he's done after 1998 puts some serious emphasis on the word "prototype."
9718.06.2023beastmxm6.0He's alright in ring. Best spear ever, no doubt, and watching him usually got you pretty excited. Issue was he has a history of being pretty stiff, most notoriously giving Brett Hart the concussion that would in effect end his career. I might even rank him higher, but his most recent run in WWE has definitely taken him down at least one point. Yes, you can blame this on WWE for pushing him more than he deserved/could handle, with two Universal Title runs and all, but it seemed he only got more dangerous to work with as he continued. It's probably best he's not with WWE anymore, and hopefully, even with their recent run of legends going on runs as part-timers, AEW steers clear of him too. It's probably for the best.

9929.05.2023Cone8.0
10026.05.2023Giantfan19806.0Massively over in 1998 on the level of Stone Cold Steve Austin to the chagrin of critics, but his undefeated streak had nowhere to go but down, and it went down thanks to Booker Man Kevin Nash and some screwy WCWness. He never got his revenge on the nWo like he should have and then Russo came in and they dicked with his character. Was brought into the WWE in 2003 with much fanfare and immediately had his legs cut out from under him. Booed out of the building at Mania 20, who would have thought he would face Lesnar years later? Looked promising and he might have been regarded as a 7 or 8 these days IF he had better booking and wasn't handled incompetently.
