[3.0] "I really tried to get into him, especially during his NXT UK and WCPW runs, but there's just not much that stands out. His character always felt like it was almost something--moody, brooding, mysterious--but it never evolved beyond that. It's like he was stuck in second gear, waiting for a spark that never came. In-ring, he's technically sound, no doubt. He can wrestle, he's smooth enough, and he rarely botches. But his matches tend to blur together. There's very little energy or urgency to them. Promos? Flat. Presence? Lacking. Even his look feels generic. He kind of faded into the background even when he was being pushed. I don't hate watching him, but I also never look forward to it. He's the kind of wrestler you forget was on the card until his music hits--and then you're like, "Oh... him.""

[5.0] "Joseph Conners entire career can be defined by his WCPW run, that's the only highlight. His entire career in fact was basically made by Joe Hendry. A great character in WCPW, but past that just nothing."

[4.0] "The definition of bland, it says a lot that he's been wrestling since 2006 and I still can't remember anything that he's done apart from getting one of the most insane pushes back in 2017/2018 in WCPW. Seriously, dude beat Galloway, Cody Rhodes, Hendry, etc etc. Granted they were all dirty finishes but still, it was one of the most disproportional card pushes to talent that I've ever seen. Decent heel and a good brawler but holy shit he's just so bland working matches, there's never been one where I was tangibly interested in what he was doing. I appreciate the hustle and the fact he got a WWE contract + lots of indie bookings because of it, but I've never seen his "great" ring work like others profess to have seen."

[4.0] "I used to have him at a 6 but he really hasn't made any improvement or significant change about himself. He won't go any further in the wrestling business if he stays the same 2018 Joseph Conners forever."

[4.0] "It? s honestly mind boggling how WWE insists on trying to make Conners a thing, he doesn? t have any charisma, his in-ring work is adequate at best and, often times, quite boring. He stunk up a match with Pete Dunne around the time when Pete was having amazing matches everywhere. Really don? t see what WWE see in him. He doesn? t even have a good look."

[5.0] "Joseph Conners is really blending into the background in NXTUK thus far. I keep getting him confused with James Drake. He needs to do something to make him stand out. I think a complete gimmick overhaul is in order. Maybe now that Ambrose is no more he can play up the loose cannon angle? But so far the little we've seen of that from him has been less than impressive. He should study some Brian Pillman tapes."

[10.0] "Inmate ElyasCN described it perfectly further down. His in-ring work is good, his heel character work outstanding - he is my favorite British indie guy in that regard. I just hope WWE will use him more adequately than having him job to others way too early in UK tournaments over and over again."

[8.0] "This guy's heel work is insanely good. He plays a convincing sociopath, someone that is hellbent on injuring others. As champion, he acts like Golem from LOTR with how protective and obsessed he is. He's great in the ring, and can brawl when he needs to. Looking forward to how he progresses over time."

[8.0] "His work recently in all sorts of promotions as a heel has been great. Would be higher if his babyface work was more polished making him a diverse worker. Great at what he does, one of the best finishers on the scene, solid mic work and great matches on the regular."

[10.0] "Conners went from a mid-card face to a legit main-event heel. His run as WCPW Champion has been... Righteous: Great matches with Galloway and Kirby; A paranoid, twisted man and his 'Gollum ring' relationship with the title is amazing. I see a bright future ahead of him."

[3.0] "I'm sure this guy is a decent fellow and a good wrestler, but god, he is so boring from the outside looking in i usually ignore him and focus on someone else. WCPW pushed this guy over much better talent that they have and to me, him being world champion marked the decline of the promotions credibility."

[9.0] "Wow this guy is becoming a top worker - clearly can see he works hard and needs exposure. Solidly performance has improved in ring and mic and he has a different persona. Needs to be seen more"

[10.0] "Top notch athlete with some pretty good mic skills to back it up. He wanes as a babyface and is far better suited as a psycho heel so thank goodness wcpw pulled the trigger on that one. His only real problem is his bland attire."

[9.0] "When I first saw him in WCPW he didnt look like he would become their top star but he did. He is a fantastic wrestler. He can pretty much do it all in the ring. If you want to see his technical ability watch his match with Noam Dar. If you want to see his brawling ability watch his fatal four way match at Stacked. Easily one of my favorites today."

[6.0] "Really really don't get Conners. He has a decent body but his choice of ring attire and character seems bland and that he's still finding himself. Won the Southside title but god knows how he's done that"
