[4.0] "Man, it's really hard for me to rate Percy, especially since I genuinely thought to myself that he was the next Shelton Benjamin: his physique was insane, his in ring work was adequate and seemingly on the rise and he was always a charismatic figure that fans could get behind. His athleticism alone could get him far, but something seemingly happened along the way: some people say he simply didn't work enough to improve into the ring, while others would suggest that appearances were more deceiving than in other cases. Regardless, I am sad to see that Percy Watson's in-ring career ended so quickly, and would have loved to see more of him at the commentary table."

[3.0] "Watson stood out as a natural entertainer. He had the look, the athleticism, and a likable personality that made you think he could be a breakout star with the right guidance. Unfortunately, the promise never materialized into a meaningful run. In the ring, Watson was athletic but raw, and his matches never quite found the rhythm needed to elevate him past novelty status. WWE shuffled him around developmental and eventually shifted him into a commentary role, where he brought enthusiasm but still felt green compared to more polished voices. To his credit, Percy always gave the impression of someone who genuinely enjoyed being part of the wrestling business. He had flashes of potential, and with more time or a different era, he might have grown into a more solid performer or on-air personality. Remembered more as a fun footnote of the early NXT years"

[3.0] "A guy who got no time to craft his wrestling, looked like he had the passion but he just was never there yet. A typical early 2010 WWE guy, who had to be lost in the shuffle like everybody else."

[4.0] "During his time in the NXT competition show, Percy Watson stood out from the pack with his energetic personality, unique look with the lensless glasses, and athleticism. He appeared to be a strong prospect, but for whatever reason things just didn't pan out for him in WWE developmental. After a few years away from the ring he returned to WWE as a commentator for NXT, but the charisma he showed as "Showtime" during his time in the ring seemed to have vanished, as he took awhile to find his footing in the booth and even when he did still often found himself overwhelmed by the stronger personalities of Mauro Ranallo and Nigel McGuinness, leaving Watson to often come off as a third wheel."

[3.0] "In the second season of NXT, it actually seemed like there was something there with Percy. He kind of had that Carlton appeal. He won the mic skills contest & got to host his own talk show. In the ring, he was fine, but nothing special. When he transitioned to commentary, he was as exciting as a standard operating manual. He brought nothing to the show & seemed to just be used to hype the upcoming segments & just read from a teleprompter. The show is all the better with him now gone."

[4.0] "There is potential with Percy. Right now he has yet to get his mojo but I have at least some confidence he will keep getting better with time and experience. I say all this from a commentary perspective of course. As a wrestler, he was never a top talent in any form."

[8.0] "He might not have Mauro's energy but this guy is underrated. Nice voice and certainly much better than fucking Coach. There are points where Percy comes out strong with a lot of passion but I feel like he still has more to learn as a commentator."

[5.0] "He might be the most accurately rated wrestler here. Percy has undeniable and infectious charisma, and grew rapidly as a wrestler, but hit a ceiling as just alright and stayed there since. He certainly is a pleasant occasional sight here and there, and should remained employed as such."

In addition to that, his move-set has increased from dropkicks and agility based maneuvers, to more technical and mat based wrestling. Also, he maintains the high energy and charisma he used to have, but has channeled so it isn't over the top, and annoying."
