He had a unique Heel aura, he arrived with a giant robe next to Prince Nana and with a woman, entered the ring and used the woman as a step, then, when he was in the middle of the ring, most fans threw a toilet paper. He was born to be a heel."

A shame few give him the proper credit that he deserves (which to be fair is probably because of his time in TNA with the Rock 'n Rave Connection). It warms my heart that he is being remembered fondly through Prince Nana and Swerve Strickland. Rest in peace Crown Jewel."

[10.0] "Jimmy Rave having an average score below an 8 is a god damn tragedy. For years, he was the single greatest heel on the independent scene. He was The Embassy's Crown Jewel for a reason. His TNA run isn't the best, but his ROH work is legendary. Watch his matches with AJ Styles and Nigel McGuinness."

[8.0] "Jimmy Rave is an unsung hero of indy wrestling and a pioneer of the 'anti-workrate' indy heel style. It is very challenging to work a heat magnet character on the indies like Rave's without getting 'go away' heat from being flat out boring, and Rave played the role excellently. There have been many who have tried since Jimmy, but I'm not sure that any pulled it off quite so well. He has a number of high level feuds and matches that deserve more recognition than they have received. His work against CM Punk in particular was especially memorable."

[10.0] "Top five "technician" and top five heel of his era. Had more small hall charm as a babyface (and was great at it) but could just walk into a building as a heel and nearly incite a riot. His 2015 run is one of the best of the decade, doing things like having a match with AJ Styles in an un-air conditioned warehouse in Northern Alabama as good if not better than what Styles could do with a peak-of-his-powers Kota Ibushi (in a top five match for both in NJPW, mind you) at Sumo Hall just a month earlier. When Jimmy Rave was on, there was nobody like him in the world even if he was never on enough, with his personal backstory of childhood sexual abuse and drug addiction explaining so many of his falters. One of the most profoundly human pro wrestlers ever."
