214.02.2026AjStylesWasBetterThanYourFavorite5.0Shane was great in his first run. He clearly cared about the sport and did things that he didn't need to do which I respect. However, since coming back it hasn't lived up to his previous run. It started off pretty good actually, but since 2019 he was just terrible. He took up far too much screen time and was put in main event spots he shouldn't have been put into. He booked himself in the final 3 of a rumble match and he got fired by his own dad. That really reflects on how awful he was from 2019-2022 and it really hurt what I thought was a pretty good reputation from him.

527.01.2026abchanchu10.0In terms of determination, love for the business, & work ethic, Shane McMahon is one of the toughest performers in the history of professional wrestling. He is HARDCORE dammit. I have so much damn respect for Shane, he is incredibly entertains & amusing to watch on WWF TV. To this day, Shane McMahon vs Kurt Angle at King of the Ring 2001 is one of the greatest matches & brutal fights that I have ever witnessed. Shane has been involved in several, yes, several iconic bumps & spots ever in wrestling, he is an entertainment genius, one of my favorites of all time, & I have so much love for Shane McMahon! <3

721.01.2026maven lover7.0His technical work was sub-par, but the maniacal bumps & falls made up for it in spades, it's really simple as that. He's infinitely better on mic than his sister will ever dream to be, & I found his super daring, " Jackass" -esque style to be infinitely far more interesting & fun than anything his father ever, ever laid out in the ring. This guy would have really, really fit in in the original ECW locker room, & I think that it's a shame that we live in a reality where Shane spent that early 90's - early 2000's period in the trim and proper WWE, and not the " Jackass" -esque, rough-around-the-edges ECW. Could you imagine what the hell a Shane McMahon promo on a shittily-shot ECW program would have been like? I definitely think about that shit sometimes.

1119.12.2025Brye2.0I wish I liked Shane but everything after 2001 was just miserable with this guy, imo. The matches with Angle and Blackman are legendary but on a week-to-week basis he was so lame. The 2003 feud with Kane was literal torture and that pales in comparison to his 2016 return. The comically long HIAC match with Undertaker has gotta be one of my least favorite Mania matches ever, though I do respect him for the insane bump off the cell. I respect the risks he's willing to take but I just find his actual matches and his promo work very underwhelming.

1916.07.2025ACMilan18998.0Even though Shane Mcmahon has never been a full time wrestler, every wrestling fan has to give him credit for some amazing moments in the history of the Attitude Era like that time he went trought two glass panels during the match against Kurt Angle at King of the Ring or that time in which he fell after Steve Blackman gave him a kendo stick shot. All those moments needed someone willing to take that risk and Shane Mcmahon accepted it so once again credit to him

2519.06.2025Mark4Lyfe7.0Shane McMahon was never a full-time wrestler, but he consistently delivered memorable performances that exceeded expectations for someone in his position. From the "Coast to Coast" to wild bumps off Hell in a Cell, he showed guts and athleticism, even if his technical skills were limited. His matches were more about spectacle and emotion than precision, but fans often got behind him. As a performer, he was a solid special attraction--never elite in-ring, but always willing to go the extra mile to entertain.

2705.06.2025bherbert19806.0In the attitude era and in his initial return, Shane O'Mac was surprisingly passable in ring, willing to take the craziest bumps and played his character to a tee. The heel run he had with the best in the world nonsense made no sense and was legitimate go away heat. If he's willing to go out there and wrestle, all credit to him, but he shouldn't be booking himself to win tournaments. As an exec, he over time was way more versed with what fans want than his dad

3313.03.2025UltimoDragon8.0In his early days Shane was a great heel as the young, over privileged McMahon and he grew into his daredevil persona. Not as smooth in the ring as a fulltime worker understandably but for the amount of matches he's had, he never fails to deliver. Great on the mic either with the Corporation, Corporate Ministry or the Mean Street Posse, Shane leaving WWE did nothing but hurt the product. While he might not be HBK in the ring, if you see Shane's about to fight, you're guaranteed a great match of high flying, risk taking from the X-Punk himself

3507.03.2025notanothersmark6.0Shane is honestly better in the ring than he has any right being, considering his background and the fact that he didn't need to do any of the crazy stunts he would eventually end up doing. Super athletic, solid on the mic, easy to hate as a heel. Really enjoyed his feud with Kane and the match with Kurt Angle at KOTR. Also a huge fan of the WM17 match against Vince. Rather decent worker and part of me honestly wishes he got creative control over HHH when Vince left.

3821.02.2025schnuff ecks7.0Most of the points i'm giving him on this one are due to the fact that he did it all for the love of the game. Son of a billionaire, and still did things that nobody else on the roster would agree to do for any kind of money

4511.12.2024Leth996.0He was amazing in '98-'01 because they let him get trained with the great guys. His match with Angle at KOTR is historic and the best match of his career. If you want to wash the bad taste of Shane post-WM 32 out of your mouth, watch that match. Sadly, he was protected more lately than in the Attitude era? ! How does that work? His late years have also been really bad. Vince was way better at 50 yrs old as a wrestler. Anyway, Shane in the Attitude era gets an 8, but I have to lower it because of how bad he was at later years. Wish he got to book WCW in 01 or ECW in 06.
4627.11.2024AceHagann4.0Shane is pretty bad as a wrestler. Mediocre talking skills, and not imposing in the ring at all. While he can somewhat work his way through a match, the only real thing he has going for him are his crazy stunts. And no, he is definitely not the best wrestler in the world. Not by a longshot.

5107.11.2024Phrygo7.0It's more than obvious that Shane would never ever have gotten even near the opportunities he had in wrestling if his last name was a different one, but the fact when he did get those opportunities he decided to flat out endanger himself makes me respect him. He didn't have to ever get in the ring, and if he ever wanted to get in it he could have simply refused to take any hard bumps, but instead he puts his body on the line in spots that honestly half of the boys would either flat out deny or demand the biggest payday of their lives. Honestly, I wonder if that was because he knew the only way fans would respect him and look past his family's name was to do something actually impressive, and considering he wasn't exactly the best worker, this was the best option. Well, if he did, I'd say he succeeded.

5403.10.2024Rassle Fan7.0The least slimy and most athletic of the McMahon family and frankly the one who came across like someone, besides Triple H, who actually likes pro wrestling. Shane was never going to have a hold for hold classic match but his fearless and frankly reckless approach to matches made for plenty of memorable moments and bumps. On or off camera he never came across as disingenuous as Stephanie or Vince.

5818.09.2024Pigeon Scratch7.0Certainly better than his dad, that's for certain. His reputation was badly tarnished due to his last run in WWE, which was essentially from 2016 to 2022, where a mixture of his own ego that practically plagues everyone in the McMahon family including those who are married into it, as well as some of the absolute worst booking and story writing that the company has seen in it's entire history. Being egotistical and wanting to be involved is such a manner is one thing, but if the stories aren't already good, that's a completely worse thing entirely. His match with The Undertaker at WrestleMania 32 really made no fucking sense at all, but at least there was a cool bump in the middle, getting involved with Daniel fucking Bryan with the co-manager stuff was shit, being classified as the best wrestler in the world in a tournament to determine as such when he wasn't even in the fucking tournament on a propaganda show right after the death of Jamal Kashoggi was so bizarre and fucked it was almost comical, and we can't forget about the Royal Rumble 2022 fiasco. So, yeah, his last stint definitely takes him down a couple points for me, but I don't think anyone really should forget how incredible of a character he was from 1998 to the early 2000s. He played his role spectacularly, whether he was with Vince or against him, whether he was a face or a heel, and he was especially great as a heel. And of course, he has some of the most legendary bumps in WWE. Ultimately, I can't say I hate Shane McMahon. At least he is probably the best one in his family, which isn't saying much.

6518.06.2024twinkerton4.0Shane McMahon is a glorified stunt-man who has possibly the worst offense of any professional wrestler in history, some of the worst gimmicks in history, and wouldn't have been anywhere near wrestling if it weren't for his daddy. His matches in the attitude era were passable, and he did some pretty awesome spots. His more recent run however, sans a few cool table bumps, was for the most part, terrible.

8009.03.20242pt0EcoBoostFusion6.0I believe Shane McMahon is overhated in terms of in-ring work. Apart from the laughably bad "Best In The World" gimmick, Shane had some really good moments in his career especially during the Attitude Era, and I believe that he is the best McMahon in-ring that isn't named Triple H (obviously Triple H is the best in-ring in the entire family). Shane took some incredible bumps during his time as a wrestler and he was actually a quite likeable authority figure until he turned heel with the previously said gimmick.
