204.04.2024IDriveAFordFusion1.0I'd say this guy is not worth my time writing a review on, but I feel like I should give a review on James because LMFAO. James Ellsworth is an incredibly bad wrestler who was used for comedic relief during the Smackdown LIVE era, It would have been okay if WWE used him for a few weeks in 2016 but nope, they had this guy beat AJ Styles, a man who had proven himself over the years to be one of the best wrestlers in the business, and had to be Dean Ambrose's sidekick, what an absolute circus. It didn't stop there as he became the helping hand for Carmella, a wrestler who was atrocious back in the day until she finally parted ways from James and improved somewhat in the years following the two splitting up. These flaws are not getting into his personal issues which I am not even going to talk about. I hope WWE never brings this guy back and thankfully they won't. I'll give James one point for actually being funny for a while, but once this guy lost all his "comedic aura", it became clear that he wasn't meant for the main roster scene or any real wrestling scene for that matter.
304.04.2024ClawIzuka1.0He got a job because he looked funny, somehow actually got over and... then got outed for being a terrible person. He wasn't a good wrestler, the only decent things I saw was an amazing AJ Styles carry job to make people think he might actually win. He is now strongly on the do not attend a show he is booked on list.

826.11.2023JediSaiyanMaster12031.0Would give him a 0, but it's a true accomplishment that his dude, somehow, got to compete for the world title and had a t-shirt that sold more than Goldberg and Roman Reigns' merchandise. Anyways, this guy was a bottom of the barrel comedy wrestler in WWE, one of the rare few bad things from WWE's 2016 SmackDown era.

1424.07.2023Gold Fists2.02 points for his matches with Styles (along with the whole "No Chin Music" gag) getting a good laugh out of me. His storyline with Carmella and Asuka was terrible for the most part. It makes him a former Ms. Money in the Bank! And obviously, he was indeed a joke in the ring with barely any actual skill.
1512.07.2023MattHall2.0I don't remember enjoying this guy too much. He was pretty much the WWE's modern-day Gillberg. He lacked in size, ability in the ring, mic skills, and just about everything but I guess he was good at being a clown in the ring. I don't know what else to say about this guy.
1621.05.2023Giantfan19803.0Played the goofy comedy act just fine. Then got himself in trouble at one point and that sorta took a dump on his WWE career. Dude looked like all those other gawky preliminary jobbers but his character got him over. Wasn't around long enough to give him higher than a 3.

1917.04.2023AidanArcher8.0James is a great jobber and is a great heel on the indies. I met him when I was 12 and he was the nicest guy I had ever met. I am glad he is still wrestling and I can't wait for what's next.

2417.11.2022crs2852.0Ellsworth was in WWE a joke. At first it was decent and funny but the longer he stuck around the worse it got for him. His in-ring abilities was far below par seen in his near catastrophic mistake in his match against Styles. Did not connect on the mic. Just overall not good.
2505.11.2022ucey3.0
2602.11.2022Cakeboyo6.0James Ellsworth is a bit of a controversial figure. He doesn't have the best work (Clearly) and he knows it. He isn't anyone who can be seen as taken seriously, but the man is a very solid in ring competitor. Whether it be him as a jovial jobber, or a complete and utter bastard. James Is probably the safest bet when you need someone to get a reaction from the crowd.
2715.09.2022DammitChrist2.0Yep, James Ellsworth was originally meant to be a fun meme for a few appearances; but of course, WWE/Vince decided to kill any entertainment he had by giving him so much spotlight/TV time at the expense of great talents like AJ Styles, Jon Moxley, and Becky Lynch.
2812.09.2022Flame2331.0Was meant to be a one time joke, and WWE took the ironic optimism of WWE Universe too seriously. Became old and stale almost immediately. Bad.
2911.09.2022AlDente014.0I've only seen a few of his fights in the indie scene and honestly only know him from 2016-2018 in WWE. Looking at 2016, I can rate it very positively: a fun, reliable jobber. The story between Ambrose and Styles was not very interesting in my opinion and James developed it very positively. Especially since I found Ambrose from those years boring. James lost in quality in 2017, since his alliance with Carmella, it started out fun and then it only got worse, especially since his brief return in 2018.

4211.01.2022Sesh2.0a wrestler who was useless in WWE. Yes, it had some funny segments that almost ruined AJ Styles and the women's division. His in-ring was bad.

4425.09.2021Acetylsalicilique0.0I kinda liked Ellsworth as a comedy guy, his schtick didn't always work but it was fine at times. Then it turned out he's a gross piece of shit. I can't believe there are companies that are still ready to have this guy work for them....

4706.07.2021faithOfWrestling0.0Annoying, a joke. I hated James Ellsworth when he was in WWE, why was he even qualified? Absolutely no in ring talent, annoying voice and did not get anywhere. He was shoved down everyones throats with WWE pointlessly pushing him for some reason and the *worship Ellsworth* shit people were doing for a while everywhere only as a joke. I cannot think of one thing James Ellsworth had going for him that contributed to wrestling in a positive way, he looked and acted like he was not even trained just thrown in the ring.
4813.06.2021WrestlingStats13.0Assets: Is perfectly cast as a comedy foil as either a wrestler or as a manager. Was endeared as a lovable underdog and succeeded as a fan favorite. Proved that any man with two hands has a fighting chance. - - - Flaws: A sexting scandal put an immediate halt to his career. Is woefully undersized by major league standards. Doesn't have the skill set generally desired for modern independent wrestlers. - - - Career Potential: Fringe major league enhancement talent and ringside personality.

5220.08.2020WhatIsLooveee2.0Firstly the Ellsworth experiment was fun. Then it got worse. First, the top jobber defeated WWE champion AJ Styles several times in a row. Then he became the winner of the first women's Money in the bank match. And then he became a slave to Carmella. Damn! Guy had a great time in WWE
5321.04.2020JuWFEAE4.0
5426.03.2020Ma Stump Puller3.0Literally got over due to embracing his role as a jobber in the business, but got overused to the point of getting strong X-Pac heat, and has essentially pissed away any possible roles with his antics.
5503.09.2019Wrestlefan200.0Bad on the mic and in the ring. Doesn't have the look or charisma necessary for the WWE. He had a small amount of potential as a manager, but was booked horribly. He was also overpushed way too early, getting him way too much go away heat.
5630.08.2019Causeahazard3.0
5701.08.2019KyleEnjoysWrestling3.0Came in as a one off & got over by accident. Though he was never good in the pure sense of the word, he did have a role to play that worked for a few weeks. However I would certainly argue that WWE ended up pushing him harder than he should have been. Had his entire run lasted no more than a month, I think we would have looked back on the Ellsworth experiment a bit more fondly. But having him pretty much dominate AJ was sad. Oh, and everything he did with Carmella was the shits.
5823.07.2019ZestyZuluWarrior0.0We all know Ellsworth was never meant to be taken seriously and his success was a stroke of luck for a reason. He's abysmal on the mic and in the ring, he could fit in at a backyard wrestling company, not a global one. Bad. Just bad.
5927.06.2019DanTalksRasslin4.0Ellsworth was a great example of making the most of an opportunity - he was a decent in-ring worker, but had not even close to the kind of look or physique WWE would normally go for. But, when booked for a squash match against Braun Strowman, he was able to turn his "any man with two hands... " line, and himself by extension, into a meme and then parlay that into an actual run with WWE as an underdog face, and when that character began to wear thin, turning into an effective obnoxious heel. Even after his release, he continued as a regular independent fixture while still making recurring WWE appearances. Unfortunately he effectively torpedoed his career when he was caught sending inappropriate photos to a minor.

6130.03.2019zephyr2.0Okay worker, one of the least believable looks in all of wrestling, massively overpushed in WWE, and a shitty person to boot.
6215.01.2019TylerWhite4.0
6312.12.2018JEK 19911.0He's a joke! The worst wrestler of modern day wrestling. Never seen a jobber on a main event show. He is ruined Smackdown and WWE at that time. Making AJ Styles bad but finally Styles beat him. Ellsworth is too skinny. He can be a great crusierweight. He should have been in the 205 Live. He is better in the indies. I was right he did not last in WWE that long. In the years to come I say people will forget about him just like "Gangnam Style".
6419.11.2018RatingsMachine0.0This guy was a complete joke in WWE And now, thanks to recent events, we know that James Ellsworth is a piece of total pond scum who sends pictures of his junk to young girls. And when you engage in behaviour that borders on paedophilia, you only get one rating.
6506.11.2018MogGuy0.0This guy should be thanking his lucky stars every damn day for the rest of his life that WWE even had the time of day to even take a glance at him. One of the luckiest no-talent hacks in modern professional wrestling history.
6620.09.2018WrestlingAura5.0
6708.07.2018Fblaggyx0.0He was fine at first but now he is pain in the a**. I realy hoped he will not return, but he did and I hate it. His staff with Braun was fine at best. After his first match with Styles, he should have just leave.
6818.06.2018gigifer6.0
6919.05.2018hutchids3.0He has some mic skills but that is literally it. He is the literal embodiment of a jobber. Heck, that was his gimmick in WWE. A 3 rating is just under adequate on this sites rankings, which is appropriate for him.

7531.01.2018CHN3253.0He was an entertaining sideshow for awhile and made for truly entertaining moments. A true underdog story but outstayed his welcome just a little two long. Props to him for making the most of his opportunities. Has an impressive superkick.
7602.01.2018Argylex5.0
Ein Punkt dennoch für seinen Anfang als kultiges Squash-Opfer "Every man with two hands has a fighting chance"
7810.11.2017Dragon Fighter0.0Sorry, he was quite entertained at first, but then he got stale so quickly. A chinless jobber. Nothing less, nothing more. The comedy he made was not good, it was boring as hell. Why is he kept on tv all the time ? Got a story with carmella, which i thought was stupid. Now get the fuck out of SD ASAP.

8229.07.2017IsThisWrestling6.0This man deserves a lot of credit. Beyond his goofy look, the guy's willingness to do anything, AND the fact that the things he does are done well, it's a one in a million kind of chance. Even Colin Delaney, who for months I insisted was better in Ellsworth's role, would not be so good in the roles Ellsworth has played. When Ellsworth went heel I thought he was for sure done, like Delaney was, but no, instead he took what seemed like a kick out the door and turned it into a very fun and entertaining character that makes the women he's working with look great as well. Anyone looks great beating up Ellsworth. And the fact that he can generate legit heat despite his naturally sympathetic appearance says a lot about how good of a performer he is.
8322.07.2017Betaxomega7.0
8414.07.2017TooSweetPhil1.0Sorry, wirklich. Mangelhaft. EDIT: Sorry, noch eins runter.

8731.05.2017popsietnetn6.0Bow down to Ellsworth ! This guy should've been just a joke, but the joke passed Strowman, feuded AJ Styles and survived a heel turn. This is lots of accomplishments for this kind of non-wrestling comedy act. Now that Ellsworth found a niche, but steady role as Carmella's valet, he may be the most successful "guy meant to be a gag" in WWE history.
8829.05.2017marexcel2.0Irrsinnig schlechter Schauspieler.

9128.04.2017st12990.0Doesnt even deserve a 5. Wasnt funny to begin with and i am so fucking glad to see that his 5 minutes of fame are done. Hes probably made enough money now to live comfortably, he can go back to the indies and advertise as a former WWE superstar. Now just let it end, give his spot to someone who deserves it.
9218.04.2017acutelock5.0
9407.04.2017Ryo Hazuki5.0
9506.04.2017jtsilver1012.0He's funny, but the act is growing old. The jobber in the spotlight was cool the first couple weeks, now he's being overexposed. If WWE wants him around just sign him and make him the new Brooklyn Brawler, just not watering down the Styles/Ambrose feud

10017.02.2017TheWrestlingFan1.0He was only good as a one-off thing. Don't understand what WWE saw in this chump when they signed him, other than his T-Shirt sale did good one time. It was fun while it lasted and now Ellsworth's overstaying his welcome in WWE.
