[9.0] "Pimpinela is the greatest "exotico" in Mexico and can certainly be recognized as a Lucha Libre legend. In the ring, a great strong talent in his prime. As a gimmick, works the crowd like nobody else in the mexican scene, matches where he appears are unique in its structure and fans are looking forward to them whenever match cards are announced. Overall, he is a wrestler who fought his whole life to get respected for who he is, developing a character that's mainly built for the chaos created by mexican audiences, inspiring and entertaining thousands of people for decades."

[8.0] "Pimpinela Escarlata is one of the most important names in lucha libre, whether you like it or not. The most important exotico in my honest opinion and it is only natural that they wrestled under the Ola Lila named that was popularised by two of the most important workers in this division Bello Greco and Sergio el Hermoso. Pimpinela is and has been one of the bigger draws for indepednent shows as well as a good overall draw in AAA (Of course it is different to be a draw as an exotico as a freelancer as it is in an actual promotion). Would you ever see a match of them that would leave you speechless the way someone like Santito, or Misawa in Japan could? No, probably not. Well maybe if you are just awakening to your gender identity (Hi.), but other than it is very unlikely you will. Instead you will get a fun, enjoyable match that would be even better if you were in the crowd for it. So yeah, an eight sounds about right for one of the most important LGBTQ+ wrestlers in wrestling history."

[6.0] "Never been a fan of the Exotico division as it seems like a parody from a bygone era. That being said anyone who can go nearly 40 years in the ring and most of them competing for notable promotions deserves a ton of respect. I do think Pimpinela is a talented wrestler between the ropes and knows how to use the gimmick to get a fan reaction.."

[6.0] "I've only seen his work on LU and I have to say that I was trully impressed with him and his character. I haven't seen mexican wrestling and I'm not used to this "exotico" characters and their work, but I think Pimpinela Escarlata is great. He was so over with the crowd, nice entrances and moves on the ring. Seriously, he can do some cool high flying at his age (he had 44 years), and can do some entertaining things. Reading other ratings I've learned that he has been working this gimmick for more than thirty years and has been a staple of the "Exoticos", so I'm really glad to hear it and to have enjoyed his run on Lucha Underground."

[8.0] "A legitimate lucha and exotico legend - and a better in ring worker than any casual observation of the gimmick would have you expect. While he was never as technically daring as say, Cassandro he always knows how to work a crowd and in his younger days was a good high flyer who to this day can still balance on the ropes (in his 50s) better than some luchadors decades younger. Lucha being what it is, his prime is in the past but if you see a Pimpi match today, you will still see a fully entertaining match with the greatest hits played out. Lucha in general - not just exoticos, but all character work wrestlers - owes Pimpi a debt of gratitude."

[8.0] "Pimpinela is a true veteran of his deal, he has been with AAA almost from the very beginning and was involved in the return of the Exotico phenomenon. Escarlata is an incredibly eccentric and impulsive character who is adored by fans. His charisma and ability to interact with fans fully compensate for not the most outstanding (although he still cannot be called mediocrity) skills in the ring"

[7.0] "I am not going to pretend to have seen Pimpinela Escarlata before her debut on Lucha Underground. I did not think transgender people or crossdressing was involved in Pro wrestling much past Adrian Adonis' character in his Wrestlemania III Feud with Roddy Piper. Pimpinela Escarlata would likely not have become a professional wrestler in America, and if she had, she would not have stuck with it. It seems like Mexico and Japan are more evolved in matters of LGBT issues. That being said, by the time I saw Pimpinela, I was pretty confused, but was open to the idea. I had the impression that it was a new character being donned for the first time. It is impressive alone that Pimpi has been working the same character since she was a teenager, this is her 30th year being a pro wrestler. I am not surprised the ratings are low, and realistically I am not claiming she is a better wrestler than most 7. 0 rated wrestlers on here. However, the number 6 stands for Satisfactory and 8 for good. From my first few matches of watching Pimpi, if forced to guess I would have surmised her age to be 36 the way she worked. Albeit, Lucha Underground does a lot in post production, the fact that at nearly 50 years old she is still able to keep a roster spot in the premiere (on and off, depends what year it is) Lucha Libre promotion. I am not going to defend my choice any further. I did not go overboard and give Pimpi an 8 or 9, and 40+ year old Pimpi is certainly barely a 7 in-ring quality. HOwever, character, longevity, drawing power all do count for something. I am not an expert on the field of openly transgendered professional wrestlers, but Pimpinela would surely be a first ballot hall of famers if there were such a Hall for such persons."

[6.0] "Yes, he is on the decline, but he can still pull an entertaining match as long as he's not required to do too much on the ring. He is limited (by time and age I suppose), but he can still "go". If he can dictate the pace of the match."

She was definitely the worst Lucha Underground wrestler when she was with them. Her matches in AAA were horrible besides the six man tags in which she was carried threw them by her opponets and her partners."
