"A quality wrestler who was alright and generally pretty watchable. His promos and matches were sub-par, his presentation wasn't great but he was good enough and memorable. Cool shirts tho!"
[5.0] "Only seen his WCW stuff when he visited for a cup of coffee. Not bad, slightly above enhancement talent but no way would this guy get to the level of #2 in the WWFE or WCW. He did well for himself in ECW I hear."
[6.0] "Mikey Whipwreck has created a pretty solid career for himself in ECW, and in my opinion, will go down more remembered for a great list of talent trained."
[6.0] "Has somehow went from being underrated to overrated multiple times over his career. I myself lean towards the latter: Mikey was always a sloppy wrestler and half of the appeal was just watching him get completely ran over by virtually anyone because he could do those crazy ludicrous bumps that no one else was willing to commit to for the underdog character he was at the time. That said, these bumps aren't common for a reason; they add up really fast. As a result, the guy quickly became a lot more limited and basically aged 20 years in 5: by the time 2000 had came and went he was suffering from some pretty nasty injuries and essentially had to retire in his late 20's for a few years to heal up. Apart of that has to be attributed to that sloppy style as he kinda just flung himself around at times with no real proper care for his body or wellbeing. Good tag work in the latter half of the 90's but his relatively short noteworthy career at his peak and even that work being very mixed match to match makes him not particularly great for myself. He's a case study to look at for why people shouldn't just rely on tons of spots and flippy stuff."
[9.0] "I absolutely love Mikey Whipwreck. The legacy of ECW is always going to be a complicated one as you begin to look at it with fresh eyes but ECW's ability to make a star and World Champion out of Mikey Whipwreck is a tribute to their abilities as alternative star makers in the wrestling business. That Mikey was then able to have a long career that touched on WCW, ROH, TNA, MLW, GCW, FWA and even an episode of Monday Night Raw is a tribute to his abilities as a performer. Mikey was a sympathetic and innovative babyface who doesn't quite get his due today. His alliance with the Sinister Minister and Tajiri is one of the most entertaining things in wrestling history. From an ECW triple crown winner to the trainer of several major stars, some of whom (Zack Ryder, Curt Hawkins, Tony Nese, Rich Swann) are holding Championships in major promotions at this moment and others who have been mainstays of ROH, NJPW (or soon AEW) like Trent and Jay Lethal. Fuck 'em up Mikey."
[6.0] "Mikey Whipwreck war so jemand, der in keinem Bereich besonders war aber in jedem Bereich ob im Ring, am Mic oder in Sachen Charisma in einem anständigen Bereich. Im Ring war er durchaus für Technik aber auch Holy Shits Spot zu haben, hatte jetzt aber auch nicht das breiteste Moveset oder irgendeinen Bereich der besonders herausstach, was dann auch fast immer in Matches resultierte, die nie überrragend aber solide waren. Charisma bei ihm war auch so etwss zweigeteilt. Einerseits hatte er jetzt nicht die überragendste Mimik, andererseits zog er schon Reaktion und passte in seine Rolle. Am Mic war er auch nicht super innovativ oder so aber was er tat passte glaubhaft in die Rolle. Alles in Allem so der Inbegriff von befriedigend und daher 6 Punkte."
[7.0] "While Mikey might not have had the size, look or charisma to make it to the top levels of the WWF or WCW in the late '90s, he was a good in-ring worker and was very effective in the role of babyface underdog, which played to his benefit in ECW when placed in an oft-imitated storyline that saw him first search for his first win and eventually become an unlikely ECW Champ. He has also been very notable as a trainer, with a large number of successful and high-quality trainees to his credit."
[10.0] "One of the greatest underdogs in the business, this man was an innovator and a risk taker, and is so humble, the man is so nice and he was so cool, whether it be Teaming with Cactus Jack, being ECW World Champion, or in the Unholy Alliance, Mikey Whipwreck was awesome in any role, I'm still angry WCW misused the poor dude."
[4.0] "Mikey Whipwreck was a cult favourite in ECW thanks to his weird charisma and his willingness to take ridiculous bumps. He wasn't a particularly polished worker, and his sloppiness was evident in every match."

He didn't have the most talent in the world but he learned the ropes quickly in ECW and benefited from good people around him and just the right amount of an underdog story to be believable. Got better as time went on. One of the better home grown ECW talent."
[4.0] "One of those kids who got good fast, but hit his peak just as quickly. Mikey is the epitome of average. That being said I liked him when I went back and watched through ECW. He was booked right as the underdog that (sometimes) could, and they never got too ridiculous with the underdog schtick either, but he was never great. He added a little something different to the ECW product though, which is more then one could say for someone like the Rotten bros or New Jack."
[9.0] "Despite significant weight gain early in his career, his highspots and workrate improved immensely after training with Perry Saturn and Taz. Worked great title matches with The Sandman and Billy Kidman, among others. By the time he tagged with Tajiri, his work was very polished and they established themselves as an elite team."
[3.0] "Als Ultimate Underdog war er ja noch ganz erträglich und an Cactus' Seite zeitweise auch unterhaltsam (was auch eher Foleys Verdienst war) als ernstzunehmender Wrestler jedoch die pure Langeweile, 0 Charisma, auch wenn er wrestlerisch sicher nicht schlecht war."
[6.0] "Das Vorbild für uns kleinen, schwachen, dicken Kinder in der Original-ECW :) Kein Wrestler vor dem Herrn aber doch immer wieder nett anzusehen hat mir Mikey sowohl in der ECW als auch bei ROH als Trainer von SAT bzw. bei Special K ganz gut gefallen."
[4.0] "War nie mein Fall! Grundsätzlich habe ich nichts gegen ihn, allerdings fand ich seinen Run als ECW Champion doch maßlos übertrieben, gerade weil es zu einer der Topzeiten der Promotion war."

[10.0] "Sehr guter Wrestler, der leider viel zu selten im Bezug auf ECW genannt wird. Hat sich gnadenlos gut vom "Gimmick Jobber" schließlich zum genialen Allrounder entwickelt. Schade, dass er nicht sehr oft in größeren Indy Ligen oder bei TNA aktiv ist ..."
