"I think Orville Brown is someone who is under represented in hall of fames and greatest of all time lists, in part due to his career being cut short at the peak of his powers. He was the first ever NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion which makes for a fun trivia fact but it was more than that. There was a reason he was chosen for that position. He had ruled the MWA territory based out of Kansas City for the entirety of the 40s. He was a top shooter and could go toe to toe with the best, which he did many times against the likes of Londos, Lewis and Shikat. He portrayed a true to life cowboy character and a family oriented man. This persona made him a popular babyface champion. Brown gree up poor, was orphaned and made a living working on farms before picking up wrestling and that made him a man of the people."
