"I've always felt that when you talk about Brain Damage, you have to really talk about him--what he did, what it was like to see him in action, and every gritty detail. A vague or biased opinion just doesn't do him justice. Brain Damage was consistently incredible. If any deathmatch fan were to build a wrestler from scratch, they'd create someone imposing, violent, strong, and resilient, someone willing to take any crazy spot. In his prime, that was Brain Damage. While he didn't have much mainstream success, his glory days were in CZW, alongside guys like Drake Younger, Toby Klein, and Deranged. His matches were a mix of pure destruction, tons of blood, extreme spots, and a literal contest of who could take the stiffest punches. Marvin was different, a unique wrestler and a unique soul. Even though Brain Damage looked like a giant who could rip your head off, Marvin was a man full of love. His career was deeply tragic, ending far too soon when he passed away at just 34. And you still haven't said anything, you haven't said anything about Brain Damage. And yes, a criticism without foundation and with vague phrases hurt my feelings."

[0.0] "When all you do is death matches then you don't do much. You know why shit like that isn't taught in wrestling school? Because anyone with two hands can do death match wrestling. It requires zero skill and a lot of sadism. I suppose masochism too since they stand there taking turns hitting each other with tubes and needles. It's not a part of the industry I respect and I never will and no matter how many accounts someone makes to bitch about my opinion, I'm still going to give it. I will not "say nothing" because it hurts someone else's feelings. I shouldn't have mentioned my Shlak story, good call."

[10.0] "My first ever favorite deathmatch wrestler: whenever Brain Damage had a match, you knew mayhem was about to ensue. However, his wrestling persona never seemed to reflect his real personality, as he was widely considered to be one of the kindest guys in CZW, if not all of deathmatch wrestling, at one point. He helped put Jon Moxley over, and his passion and dedication to the sport he loved live on to this day. Gone too soon, rest in peace to a legend of the sport."

[7.0] "Dude was the real life terminator. He was a scary looking, hard hitting son of a gun. He is up there for the one of the guys with the stiffest punches. Not also mentioning all the crazy stuff he would do in his deathmatches. While he wasn't a great traditional wrestler, if you could get him in the ring with someone that could either hide his flaws or that could hit as hard as him, he would have amazing matches. A true brawler. Despite his looks, behind the scenes he was apparently a truely kind, soft soul. RIP Marvin."

[8.0] "Brain Damage was among the most standout wrestlers in the early days of CZW. His imposing stature and intense gaze alone told you he was a dangerous guy in the ring. He was not the most athletic, nor the most technical, but his brutality and presence largely made up for that. You could always rely on Brain Damage to go all out in every match without overshadowing his opponents. Beyond his intimidating appearance and intense in-ring action, he was a real genuine and kind fellow, always respectful to his peers and grateful to fans. Unfortunately, he was hiding some serious struggles that led him to take his life. Much like a cat hides illness or injury, Brain Damage hid his personal troubles until they consumed him. Taking all of this into account, I do believe an 8 is fitting for him."

[9.0] "Originally posted 03/06/25: "Brain Damage is lovely, always reliable for whatever, wherever. Although their non hardcore matches were not very memorable, their hardcore matches are the best. If you think that by measuring 1.92 cm and despite 123 kg it is little risky, you are wrong. Able to take all types of spot. Sadly we could not take care of his smile, RIP Brain Damage, really, he made art." Brain was always the standard of a Deathmatch wrestler, a tough, resilient and violent guy, his style was in line with what Deathmatch represents, and to be honest, he did more than expected, he could take any hit and keep walking. At CZW Cage Of Death IX, he had (in my opinion) the most violent, excessive and painful fall of his career, Drake Younger puts Brain on a DVD and throws himself and Brain from the top of the cage. At 9 F'n Years, in his match against Younger, he fell from the ring to the outside onto a wooden board with barbed wire, which was on a table, with a glass panel with two chairs. You know where I'm going with this? He could have done more but he was always a filler on the cards. He never had his place in the world, but I'm sure there was a place for him."

[8.0] "When it comes to deathmatch wrestling, one name that should at least be brought up once is without a doubt Brain Damage, if only for the insane shit he would do in-ring. Easily one of the toughest sons of bitches to ever step in a ring and with punches so stiff, you would lose every single tooth in your face, there's a very good why his guy's as legendary as he is. RIP Brain Damage, a badass that died way too young."

[8.0] "Brain Damage is very underrated in so many ways. He proves that not all Deathmatch wrestlers use glass every second."

[10.0] ""The Ultraviolent Terminator". Rest in peace. One of my absolute favorites. He was such a bad ass character. One of the hardest punching guys ever with an iron chin, when someone wanted to test that with him. Also at 193 cm & 123 kg - he was a legit heavyweight. Underrated worker. When he was motivated and feeling confident he pulled out some great matches at times. In his prime during 2006-2008 he had multiple memorable matches, mostly deathmatches and brawls. He was the MVP in CZWŽs Tournament of Death 5, with a hard hitting performance against Necro Butcher and Toby Klein. He had the classic Fans Bring The Weapons match against Deranged in IWA-MSŽs KOTDM 2006 and the epic Last Man Standing brawl against Necro Butcher in IWA-ECŽs Master of Pain tournament in 2007. The 20 min Ironman match against Joker at CZWŽs New Year Resolution show in 2008, was probably the best match in his career. In that he showed that he could work a great match. He was on top of his career holding two CZW championship belts and having won a Tournament of Death the previous year. Sadly Brain Damage started suffering from depression. He gained lots of weight and for a while he lost his best edge. Finally he came back to CZW in 2011, having lost the extra weight and once again in good shape and he faced Matt Tremont in a very decent and memorable hardcore match. Sadly this was his last appearance. He committed suicide as the result of heavy depression in late 2012. His legacy as the legendary hardcore "cyborg" of the US wrestling scene will live on forever."

[10.0] "Brain Damage was a big loss to the world of death match wrestling, and CZW in particular. It is very hard to believe he was gone. He was one tough mother fucker in the ring. Everyone knew he was the hardest hitter in the ring too. One punch, and you loose a tooth! He was a loyal, and very sweet guy out of the ring, and to think he has been gone for four years, is very depressing. Rest In Peace, Brain Damage. Just like Bailey, the death match family misses you very much so."
