301.07.2025Red Mage Riot2.0A great look, and...that's about it, really. He was quite lucky to ride success in sumo to middling success in wrestling, but unfortunately, he didn't have any interest in improving himself, or the temper to take any kind of criticism whatsoever. It's a shame, because the potential WAS there, but he had no interest in fulfilling it.

625.02.2025nweintra1996 Two words; anger management. The fact that he couldn't keep his temper led to his downfall in nearly every promotion. Gotta wonder if he had some form of mental problems. Not to excuse his racism towards Riki Choshu, but for him to get fired because he was a ticking time bomb X number of times says a lot about him. It's like he's the real-life counterpart of the incredible Hulk but born in Japan.

814.12.2024tlaustin0.0Sumo is one of the few things I love as much, if not more, than pro wrestling, and the fact that Kitao is a slimebag in both worlds -and- responsible for one of the most embarrassing shoots in wrestling history makes it impossible for me to give his career a higher score than this.

1025.05.2023Giantfan19803.0Had the look to be something but his shitty personality and conduct ruined that. He was one of the few (maybe only) Yokozuna's to get banned from the sport for his behavior. Many people also criticized how he became a Grand Champion, saying he didn't deserve it. Even being buddies with Tenryu couldn't save him after he got embroiled in a shoot argument with Earthquake. Just a miserable person with issues.

1226.04.2023benh25.0Kitao could have been a superstar in Japan if he didn't get in his own way. Great size and athleticism but plagued by laziness and unprofessionalism.

1503.08.2021Josh Drake9.0An incredible worker at WAR who unfortunately had no chance to surpass the lofty popularity of his more famous employer, who seemed to have set his attitude straight. In all of my years of watching wrestling, I have yet to see anyone his size land a good kick on someone's shoulders. He loses out on a 10 because of his attitude problems outside of WAR.
1621.06.2021WrestlingStuff5.0He had so much potential to be well used and being a huge star as he was already popular for being a yokozuna, so NJPW capitalized on that, but I ain't sugar coating him for those reasons. In the end, he had an overhyped match at the Dome against Bigelow that ended early because his lazyness in the ring was beyond anything else he had going on (he was the first babyface I've seen being booed out of a building), and to make things worse, he did not take criticism and would curse at everyone around him, something that caused his sumo career to be done too. In SWS, well, you know how things ended for him. By the time he slightly improved, he relied much on karate and got in a huge yet deformed shape. Wasted potential indeed.
1721.08.2019JEK 19916.0Good sumo wrestler! As a wrestler he was decent. Great at defensive moves and holds. I think the incident he had with the referee and Earthquake did not effect his career. He was most remember by North Americans for his appearance at Wrestlemania 7 with Tenryu defeating Demolition. He had a solid build but was slow in the ring. He did not excite me.
