[8.0] "Tyrus (or Brodus Clay, as most of the (internet) wrestling community will know him by), was big in the early 2010s as someone who was potentially about to burst onto the scene and whilst he never made it too far, I seem to remember him being fairly decent in showcasing the material he was provided by the creative team. Got a bit silly with the funkadactyls too, however i've got fairly fond memories of Big Brodus"

[0.0] "holy stinker, good grief. I only have known him through the funkasaurus and i only seen one clip of him outside of WWE and that was him "running the ropes" in his last match and that was so bad it's hilarious."

[2.0] "Brodus Clay used to be one of my boys back in the day, but almost everything he's done post-WWE really soured my view of the guy. Looking at him objectively, he has not aged gracefully at all, his reign of terror in the NWA was abysmal, but even during his peak years athletically, he was not that special for a big man. Did his best as the Funkasaurus, but bombed after turning heel and after leaving the company, seemingly was at his best as a silent bodyguard who had little to do. Overall a rather limited wrestler."

[0.0] "One of the worst wrestlers I have ever seen with my own two eyes. Never ever seen a match of his I enjoyed. Rubbish in WWE TNA and the NWA. Immobile and in no ways entertaining. Never had a decent match. Quite simply awful, ."

"[0.0] Vile human being and sexual predator. Horrible performer in every sense of the word. This lummox represents the worst of wrestling: Vince/Laurinaitis PG Era and Corgan's NWA. Neville couldn't get a good match out of him. God couldn't get a good match out of him. And yeah, just an absolutely insufferable idiot abomination to every industry and every environment he has ever inhabited. 17 years with zero good matches, zero good promos, zero good moments, except for that brief intrigue in knocking out Neville's teeth. Looked bad, moved bad, promos sucked, characters sucked. This man should absolutely be in the Flop 50 wrestlers. A 2.6 is outrageously high given the two-decade long skidmark he left across all of our faces. Best used as a body standing behind EC3 when he was at his peak and carrying TNA. And the only good thing I can say is that Brodus Clay had the Funkadactyls--and I fell in love with both Cameron and especially Naomi. But even then, Naomi and Cameron (and certainly Naomi) would've found their ways without being cheerleaders in a Vince McMahon minstrel act. Abominable human being and performer."

[3.0] "As a wrestler he had a unique look. I wonder why he was chosen to be NWA world champion? All I can say to that is that it wasn't my decision! The Funkasaurus was ok."

[0.0] "I'm honestly struggling to think of a nice thing to say about Tyrus, either as a performer or as a person. He's got a good size and can look very menacing when he wants to be, I guess? Even in his "physical prime" back in 2012 he could barely move around the ring. He couldn't cut promos worth a shit and he only got over because he was some grotesquely fat guy in skin-tight latex with a goofy haircut who made goofy faces while he did his goofy dance during his goofy music. And then, TEN YEARS LATER, William Patrick Corgan thought, "What if I made this dude my world champion for like a year". Fucking unreal. Flair. Steamboat. Race. Funk. Thesz. Tyrus. What the fuck, man. Thankfully Tyrus has finally retired, going out with a shart against the only slightly less-shitty EC3. But it's OK, for the seven of you that like Tyrus, you can catch him as the transphobic court jester of some no-talent right-wing late-night talk show hack."

[3.0] "Tyrus had the look -- a big, intimidating presence and some solid charisma in short bursts. As Brodus Clay, "The Funkasaurus" was entertaining in a very gimmicky, PG-era kind of way. But once the novelty wore off, his in-ring work never really evolved. His matches were slow, clunky, and rarely delivered anything memorable, especially in later years. As NWA World Champion, it felt more like a favor than a merit-based decision, and it hurt the credibility of the belt. Respect for the longevity, but from a pure wrestling standpoint, his run was mostly forgettable."

[2.0] "As EC3 and then Matt Hardy's bodyguard, he was okay (at best). But why the NWA decided to give him a championship, I'll never know. He was basically good for nothing, and tried his best at a non-wrestling career only to find out that he wasn't wanted elsewhere"

[0.0] "Nothing redeemable about this guy. Bad wrestler, bad person, bad personality, bad branding, bad gimmick, bad aesthetic, bad everything. At every point in his career, he sucked. Terrible unfunny jobber, terrible tag team wrestler, and especially a terrible world champion in NWA, which was the main person that killed the company again of any momentum after losing Eli Drake. He was slow, out of shape, kind of gross looking when he wasn't trying to be that way, and nothing more than a big body that people could look at and go, "Wow, this guy is big." Probably the worst wrestler I can think of with that gimmick, which is hilarious given how many people WWE hired for that exact gimmick. Just awful and will be remembered for both being an awful human and a complete joke as a wrestler."

[2.0] "Never was really good in the ring. Moved very slowly in the ring and never was overly skilled on the mic. Was not a fan of his dancing character but he was a little better in TNA as a bodyguard character. His age is starting to show in the ring with his bad final run as NWA champion."

He was dreadful in the WWE, but the decision to give him the world title in the NWA i'll never understand his final match with EC3 was beyond bad and every other match he had was dull and he's become more of a dick since leaving professional wrestling."

Im WWE, the Brodus Clay character was one of the worst things to come out of NXT and showed how much of a low point WWE was in during the early 2010s. This guy should have hit his glass ceiling earlier and stayed as on screen security guard because even as heel's 'bodyguard' he was terrible and that's being way too nice. If you want to see anything entertaining about this man, just watch some videos on YouTube that trash him."

In TNA he was just a bodyguard and had a few matches, which is still too generous to such a POS. Then he went away for a bit and then joined the NWA and became world champion. Such an insult to a title that's so prestigious - the fact that Tyrus has held the same title that legends like Lou Thesz is the reason why the NWA is dying. Now that Tyrus is retired, he can go fuck himself. The fact that he has - on live television - pretty much admitted that he'd ASSAULT CHILDREN if the were trans tells you literally everything you need to know about who he is. Once again, FUCK TYRUS."

[6.0] "I wills tart this by saying I didn't see his run in the NWA recently but I did watch him in TNA and the WWE and honestly he fit the big bodyguard type really well in TNA and he was ok at that in WWE. In WWE he really signed from his debut being a big man mountain suplexing everyone everywhere was very appealing. He was then ruined by being another big guy who dances. Such a shame but still a decent enough performer."

[0.0] "There is absolutely nothing enjoyable here. He has no charisma, no in ring ability, and an actively awful out of ring presence. I cannot think of a single reason to like Tyrus in any shape or form and it is awful that he got to hold a legacy title as long as he got to."

There is very little interesting about him, and when the only real push he gets in wrestling is as a 50 year old due to being on Fox News, it is not a good sign. I've had the misfortune of watching a few of his matches but honestly could not tell you much he does other than shoulder tackles, some very tame rest holds and his chokeslam. Outside of wrestling he is obviously a ghoul but inside the ring he has no redeeming qualities really. He does not get a 0 due simply to the fact that he has not hurt anyone in the ring or physically out of the ring, but that is a very low bar."

If I had a time machine, I would now go back and beat past me for ever thinking that because the charge for assaulting a child would be worth it. He was bad 10 years ago, but has since degraded into being one of the worst wrestlers of all time. Moves like he has to migrate an entire moshpit, can't do the most basic possible move of running the ropes, has an inexplicable 10 month reign with the *NWA WHC*, and is an absolute trash human being to boot. Trainees probably watch clips of this dude to make themselves feel better, because at least they're not as bad as Tyrus."

Not even going into him being an abhorrent human being but he simply cannot work a wrestling match at all, was never good to begin with and has degraded to possibly the worst wrestler I've seen"

[2.0] "The very first time I saw him was on NXT where he had Michael Cole do his promo for him while he would stand there and say CHURCH or VELVET or some other stupid thing. He only declined from there."

[1.0] "Absolutely horrid worker, can hardly wrestle being an immobile big guy throughout his career with seemingly no prime, just a continuous fall in quality (which wasn't that good to start with), his NWA title reign shat on the legacy of that belt. He gets a single point getting somewhat over with his dancing gimmick but even then that was pretty poor."

[0.0] "Never would I give a wrestler a 0 unless they ABSOLUTELY deserve it (even wrestlers I dislike both personally and professionally don't often get a 0). But, Tyrus is a really fitting candidate for being an imperfect 0. I'm not going to take into account his political views (because I'm not as politically charged as some are in the IWC), but I will take into account his whole entire (well, not everything but to sum up) professional wrestling career, which was absolutely atrocious. I can see why he was a comedy act in WWE as he has literally zero skills in the ring, can't talk on the mic to save his career, and just looked absolutely bad in every category, this was even more so the case when NWA management thought "Hmmm, maybe this guy Tyrus looks good as the world champion" and did exactly just that. Easily the worst world champion in any promotion in the 21st century and there is a very "strong" list of contenders for that debate. His final match was against EC3, a wrestler who had potential years ago but has completely fallen off as well, but he's still miles ahead of Tyrus at everything in wrestling, that match was the drizzling shits! Tyrus is probably the least mobile wrestler I've ever seen as well. Tyrus was a complete failure as a singles wrestler and this rating is justifiable enough in that regard."

[0.0] "The guy consistently failed throughout all his career. From his early WWE days to TNA and to his retirement in NWA he was a constant sucker. Not even an adequate wrestler alright but on top of that he is a questionable person. Did Bill Demott not only trained him to be a shitty wrestler but also a shitty human being? His retirement Bull Rope match is the text book definition of awful and imagine retiring like that. He has 0 memorable matches or gimmicks, that surely includes his funky character alongside Lord Tensai, I was beyond surprised when they first put a main event caliber title on him. There are bunch of meaty powerhouse men who is above and beyond talented than this virus, it's not like he's irreplacable."

[0.0] "Cant wrestle worth a damn, more of a hitman or a bodyguard. Tough but cant wrestle at all, guy cant even more since he is overweight. Makes Eddie Kingston who is good in talking, wrestling but has a problem with his diet look like Usain Bolt. And oh boy his last match was probably his very worse and his best was on WWE tv against Jack Swagger on RAW 1000, now he is a bad wrestler to have barely any other credible competition. Also his gimmick as the funkosaurus is super dated. Piers Morgan gets along with him so that is all I can say about Tyrus the bodybuilder from hell."

[0.0] "Tyrus was widely considered the worst wrestler of 2023 and honestly, can you argue that? He didn't have a single redeemable moment the entire year and in prior ones either. Most famous for a pretty bad run in WWE that probably would've gotten a 2 or 3, now I struggle to give h im any points at all. 0.5 out of 10 and honestly I don't feel like it can be rounded up instead of down. Can't cut promos. Can't move in the ring. Can't keep his mouth away from his own asshole. Can't."

I know that the NWA Championship has been irrelevant since the split from WCW (with its time in TNA being the exception), but goddamn. Worse than Jinder Mahal as WWE Champion. He's also an awful hateful person (but really, which wrestlers aren't? ) and is only put in the position he's because of his past of spewing nonsense on Fox News. Zero redeeming qualities."

I'll never rate someone based on their politics, so here goes. Tyrus was fun enough as Brodus Clay. That gimmick was never going to last long, so not surprising he didn't have a long run with WWE. He's been ok with the NWA, I think he was better suited as the TV champion. No problem with him having a run with the NWA world title but it's lasted too long."

[4.0] "Controversial and somewhat charismatic big man who probably found himself working in the wrong era. On top of being unfashionable, Tyrus was a late starter in the sport and never wrestled in his athletic peak. As he nears retirement, Tyrus has been reduced to a plodding pace, relying almost entirely on his size and solid character work in the ring. This is bearable in a tag with an athletic partner, but putrid in singles competition. On the bright side, Tyrus is confident on the mic and can be entertaining - if rarely convincing. May have potential as a colour commentator if he doesn't pursue interests outside wrestling after hanging up his boots."
