122.03.2024CDProsPro5.0Tim Horner had a bit of potential in his career, his singing not withstanding. I believe his career was sabotaged by his former employer. Overall he had some shots to break out in WCW/JCP previously teaming with Nelson Royal at Starcade 86 in his one and only ppv shot. He never had a clear path to eye ball appeal, fine to look at but couldnt be a light heavyweight while isnt the biggest guy in the company. His style was old school and can last more than 10 mins. He wrestled the million dollar man in a good back and forth. He wrestled The Great Muta in his rookie year, during his run in the WWF it wasnt losing to just Ted Dibase but defeat Barry Horowitz, Iron Mike Sharpe and Boris Zkuvo. A tiff one day with higher ups and a lawsuit that he instructed putting the stomps to a remarkable yet captivating run up north. His prime was cut off after SMW went out of business and he would go on to become a county commissioner. The Thunder rolls but Tim Horner became a impressive cloud with little rain or snow to show for it.

316.03.2024dysboat3.0I have to point out how bad this guy was. The only thing I can say about him that isn't explicitly negative is that he was a fine enough worker between the ropes, that is to say he could do moves fairly well. He's never been some super athlete, but he could do normal wrestler things and it wouldn't look shitty. Everything else about him is strictly bad. He could never cut a convincing promo, every time he was on the mic he was timid and sounded unconvinced of even his own competence. He was a total unconvincing loser who was neigh impossible to care about the moment he opened his mouth. (This is a guy who thought he should be a top star by the way.) He never had much of a physique or a look or anything like that. Lame looking hair, indistinct gear. If you've seen him in Smoky Mountain Wrestling (a promotion he firmly believed he should've been the champion of, ) you may have seen him walking around with little foam lightning bolts in his hands, which he would attempt to sell to fans at his merch table. Let's just say they didn't add much to his visual appeal. But perhaps the worst thing about him, to me, is that anywhere I've seen him, any time or any place, he always has this dumb, dopey, vacant look on his face, like he's lost and scared. Anytime you see him in the ring, look in his eyes. You'll be quickly and firmly convinced that this guy has no idea where he is or what he's doing, like it's news to him that he's a professional wrestler. And he's got a hard time getting past that. Whether he's trying to sell, trying to gain the audience's sympathies or even to be a cool babyface, he can't seem to do much of anything to obscure the confused, ineffectual stare that his face defaulted to. No emotion, no intensity, no fire, no sauce. The best decision Jim Cornette ever made in his tenure as a wrestling booker was putting Tim Horner under a mask, but a better decision still would've been firing him.
411.03.2024Conquistador377.0A pleasure to watch in the ring, however his career kind of went nowhere and most of his matches merely feel like an exhibition of talents. His rookie years are astonishing, no one should be on that level, that early into their career but Tim was. Even though his promos were strong, his southern accent was dense and quite obtrusive. Really fun tag team with Brad Armstrong but I was always more into Brad. His enhancement work in the 'F was quite good, however you didn't see much of him. Smooth and sometimes definitely exciting but he was also one of the smallest guys on the card and that damned you back then. Caveats, Horner's got 'em 6.25. EDIT: I was actually a bit too harsh on him there, the work really is silky smooth and while sometimes the booking and timing of his career is off, the work never was. I can see how so easily so many write him off but if you watch his career from the inception: proper wrestling technique.

613.08.2023MattHall5.0Horny Horn Horner. Ah poor guy, didn't move much from jobber status. He was quite good in the ring but lacked in talking, size, and personality. He didn't have much charisma. Had Horner stayed in the business during the late 90s and early 00s, he could've made a name for himself. Also he needed to change his name .
727.07.2023Giantfan19804.0Glorified jobber at best and he sucked as a main eventer baby face even by 3rd and 4th rate indy promotion standards. Best at making the true stars look great by getting destroyed. Only time when he was allowed to show any real offense in the WWF was during one of their B or C house shows with the garbage card consisting of jobbers fighting each other or lower mid card guys. Never got past the glass ceiling of the high powered phenoms of Barry Horowitz and Danny Davis.

905.05.2023DanTalksRasslin4.0Horner was a solid enough in-ring worker with little charisma and a slightly smallish build for his era, all of which would see him doing enhancement work when he ventured to the big promotions (WWF and WCW), and he handled that role just fine. In smaller promotions he fared somewhat better, and was able to pick up some TV Title runs in SMW and a number of reigns with the NWA US Junior Heavyweight Title.

1405.04.2020Caas4.0Tim Horner was never anything more than serviceable between the ropes. Arguably his biggest success came from Cornette's small Smoky Mountain territory, which, as described by Corny, was due to personal loyalty and feelings of obligation. Horner was a vehement yet utterly incompetent self-promoter, he sucked as a babyface and wasn't that effective as a jobber at higher levels. Horner sounded "uncertain" in every promo that I've ever heard from him. Also, his song is absolute cringe. At the time of writing this, mine is the 15th rating, and that should say it all--barely anybody remembers this guy.
1526.02.2020JEK 19919.0One of the best jobbers in the industry. Well known in the Southeast. He also worked in MACW, WWF, WCW and SMW.
1604.12.2019krukster5.0Above average wrestling skills, very little charisma or mic skills. Ranged anywhere from mid card in his NWA/WCW days to lower mid card in WWF run. Good tag team wrestler, and passable singles guy.
1710.10.2018RatingsMachine6.0Tim Horner was the definition of a 'good hand'. He'd give you a solid match and he wouldn't screw anything up. More than a little delusional, however.

2127.12.2013Elitemaster8.0His run in the WWF was successful in 1988 and 1989, he fought against Ted DiBiase in one of those matches and he nearly pinned him, he successfully fought against the likes of Barry Horowitz, Iron Mike Sharpe, and Boris Zkuvo, a great wrestler with an impressive move-set!
2220.08.2012Witchfinder6.0Tim Horner was a good wrestler back in the day. His last outing was in 2005.
