[6.0] "Had a lot of potential coming into WCW right before the purchase. A definite standout of the Natural Born Thrillers. Unfortunately never got to reach true potential in WWE. Even if he wasn't the best promo he could have had someone talk for him. He was a Power Plant guy so he had his big spots down so with some more refinement could have been a solid midcarder or upper midcarder in my opinion."
[5.0] "Huge "What If? " in the realm of pro wrestling. Super intense character, truly seemed like a man of the words. For starters, dude was 6'6, 270 pounds and moved like a cat. Had a great mix of power moves and athleticism. Biggest knock against him was that I feel he wasn't given a given much of a fair shot while in wrestling. Alot of people talk about his "Devil's Advocate" character and theres no doubt there was something there but for whatever reason, he wasn't given much a fair shot and he was out of the company not long after. RIP Sean"
[6.0] "If he'd been able to tighten up the live mic work for the Devil's Advocate character, he'd be a lot more fondly remembered, because that was a great character concept that just didn't translate to the live shows well. As it stands, Sean had a great look, and was more than passable in the ring. He probably deserved better than he got, but not by a lot."
[2.0] "When people glow over him, I both laugh and die on the inside. What are you even watching? Overrated, overhyped, underwhelming underachiever. Tremendous look, sub par wrestling skills. Poor selling (do you think you are too good to sell or something? ). Rigid, sometimes sloppy and seemingly uncomfortable in regards to this all being a WORK. The lousiest Funaki matches are the ones against Sean O'Haire (and Funaki doesn't have lousy matches otherwise! ). No chemistry with anyone. Looked AKWARD when shooting a foe to the corner. Seemingly unable to understand proper pacing. If he never had those vignettes, if he didn't have *that look*, not a soul would have recalled him. He sucks. Career Highlight? Enhancement talent on Smackdown! Here Comes The Pain."
[6.0] "Man, this guy really had it all. Great look, decent in-ring, ok on the mic, he really had all the tools needed to be successful. If WCW had stayed in business, then the likes of O'Haire and Jindrak would've had very different careers. For Sean though, he was quite unique. If WWE had given him more time, I think he would've become a star. Not saying he'd be in the top 5 wrestlers of that era, but he could've offered a lot to the shows. Really sad to see how his life turned out. RIP."
[6.0] "Absolutely incredible from an athletic standpoint with some nice wrestling to go with it, shame his career didn't get to develop as it could have gone far."
[8.0] "If Sean OHaire was given more time. I absolutely think he would go down as one of the best wrestlers of our generation. The devils advocate promos were some of the best promos in WWE at that time and they clearly had huge plans for him that didnt work out. If those plans had worked out however, I would have no doubt that OHaire would be considered a great in the industry because he was very close to being the total package."
[7.0] "what an absolute menace of a wrestler, best powerplant wrestler for sure and would be a great hand in today's era. based Seanton Bomb, based devil advocate. he doesn't have a lot of talent, but i definitely would of loved a better showcase of that"
[7.0] "I think about Sean O'Haire every single day of my life. Dude had an unbelievable amount of raw talent that not many could match, plus a gimmick that, if given room to grow, could've made him one of the most compelling heels of the '00s. Instead, they daisy-chained him to Roddy Piper, which led to his career entering a tailspin once Piper was fired, and... yeah."
[7.0] "One of the biggests "What If? " ever. The guy had the look, he was so agile for a man his size, could move like a cruiserweight and destroy like a powerhouse. Just needed a character, and he had it, the Devil's Advocate, and they took that away from him and made him a generic big guy with a generic big guy offensive. Of course, he would be released, and years later he would take his life sadly."
[5.0] "One of WCW's best prospects. Too bad he came on the scene during the dying days of WCW and never really got a shot in the WWE. I think he got a little screen time during the InVasion, then disappeared for 2 years before coming back and hanging with Piper. Eventually got cut from the WWE and his personal life went to hell and led to an unfortunate end. Dude had the look and talent, but his personal issues got in the way."
[4.0] "A fair amount of athleticism for a guy his size, but that's about the only positive thing I can say about Sean O'Haire. Some people have fooled themselves into thinking he had some sort of immense amount of untapped potential, but in reality he was pretty unremarkable."
[7.0] "He was doing incredible moves for a man of his size Iin the dying days of WCW but when he made it to WWE he was only using basic power moves. His devils advocate gimmick had great vignettes but he couldn? t cut a live promo in front of fans. He was his own worst enemy though and got into bad fights before being released. He came back briefly in 2006 for some dark matches but that never materialized."
[7.0] "A man with a rather tragic fate, who, unfortunately, gave up. His career lasted only 5 years. And he was average. Just an average wrestler who, due to his inexperience, could not last long in the top league. Devil's advocate was very good, but didn't last long, partly through the fault of Sean himself. Of note, he was a three-time WCW tag team champion and in WWE his manager was the legendary Roddy Piper. He had a good ring skill, some makings of charisma and good look, but unfortunately did not have time to be realized. I've always found something in him, so maybe my opinion is biased."
[8.0] "Oh what a missed opportunity this was.... This man had everything to be a Main eventer. He had an amazing body, real good in Ring skills, good charisma and good mic-skills. But WWE and WCW thrown him away."
[6.0] "Man, what could have been? Those promos and vignettes leading up to his SmackDown debut were some of the best of the past 20 years. Really thought he had the tools to be a World Champion. Big, insanely athletic, and creative with his move set. Arguably ahead of his time. It never truly came together for O'Haire, but there were a lot of intriguing pieces in that puzzle."
[6.0] "Amazingly athletic for a guy his size, and was in a lot of ways ahead of his time. However, he just never was able to do the character work required to really be a success in the wrestling business."
[6.0] "I mean, Sean definitely had the potential physically to be a big deal: guy had the size and look for sure, and his surprising agility for a guy of his imposing size made him a unique feature in the dead-end WCW 2000. Ultimately he'd be let down by the fact that he just wasn't trained properly by the Power Plant guys: he was fine if everything was laid out and in matches with a clear step by step process, but outside of that he kinda looked lost. Didn't help that he had a WWE gimmick with too high expectations for a rookie like him (as well as the fact that he was apparently a train wreck promo wise, not helpful when that's kinda what the whole thing is about) and pairing him with 2003 crazy Piper didn't do him many favours. Definitely needed some good polish but had a lot of promise in the ring."
[8.0] "If Sean o haire was wrestling today he would be one of the top stars , he had an amazing moveset and he was amazing in the ring, if he wasn't lazy he would be something like batista have been on wrestling."
[7.0] "One of my top guys who I wished could have been something more than what he was. Insanely talented in the ring for only having a little amount of experience. I am a big proponent for the little things mattering & O'Haire did some great minor tweaks to his moves that made them stand out. I just watched a highlight video on him & even basic moves such as a clothesline & an arm wringer from him look unique & impressive. When they paired him with Piper, that act felt like such a homerun. Unfortunately, it was not to be."
[3.0] "I personally don't think he was that great. He had the size and could talk on the mic. Some of his moves were great but most of his moves were bland. I liked how he could jump off the turnabuckle at 6"7. He did too many slams. Maybe if he was not lazy he could have had a better potential. He was great with Chuck Palumbo in WCW. WWE he was different and was not successful. He did beat Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero and Hulk Hogan. In 2003 the vignettes he had were great but did not go anywhere in his career. Even Roddy Piper could help him. Sad that he killed himself."
[4.0] "Sean O'Haire had the kind of look that causes Vince McMahon to discretely start cracking one off under the table. Sadly, O'Haire just couldn't put it all together, and he's best known for the series of great vignettes that never led to anything because he couldn't come through on the mic in front of a live audience."
[7.0] "I just can't help but feel like this guy got a really raw deal in the wrestling business. This dude oozed potential, and with proper refinement, could have been a huge deal in the WWE. Instead he just fell by the wayside after a promising push with those creepy vignettes in 2003. Then he just disappeared. You'd occasional hear a report of him being arrested or attempting an MMA career, but it all ended up with him killing himself. It's all super unfortunate. RIP."
[6.0] "Showed so much potential in WCW, and with those WWE vignettes before his debut there, but as with so many ex-WCW guys, he just got buried and thus never got the chance to develop into the quality all-around wrestler he should've been. An awful person outside the ring, but in wrestling, he's a classic case of the guy who should've been a star but got the shaft from creative."
[7.0] "From the time he showed up on Monday Nitro as a Power Plant rookie and, with Mark Jindrak, scored an upset win over Juventud Guerrera and Rey Misterio Jr. in his first televised match, O'Haire seemed like such a can't miss prospect. Had the look and intensity, and although his ring skills were rough around the edges early on, he had a unique skill set incorporating martial arts strikes and high-flying maneuvers (rare to see a big man using a Swanton Bomb as a finisher). After he and Chuck Palumbo came to the WWF as reigning WCW Tag Champs during the Invasion, O'Haire was shuffled off to developmental and emerged with a series of memorable "Devil's Advocate" vignettes, which were among the most intriguing of the mid-2000s, but the writing team never seemed to figure out how to translate them to the ring. Had the booking not failed him - and had he not had the personal issues that would eventually lead to his taking his own life - who knows what might have been. I think his career trajectory might have been very different had WCW survived."
[5.0] "O'Haire had a lot of potential. He had a superstar look, an incredible ability to move like a lightweight, and seemed to be getting the hang of the whole 'cuttin' a promo' thing. Stood out as a star in The Natural Born Thrillers and had some exciting pre-debut vignettes in WWE, but never got to take that next step. Good thing, it sounds like, considering his terrible track record as a human being, but who knows what could've been."
Schade!"
[10.0] "Sean O'Haire was the example of the perfect wrestler (in my opinion). He was strong, and agile. His matches were always entertaining and he always put on great matches. He moved amazingly in the ring, especially for the size of him. His promos were some of the WWE's best. I honestly do not know why the WWE did not push O'Haire. I don't know why he didn't become champion. He deserved it more than anyone did."
[10.0] "In 2003, I became a big fan of Sean O'Haire from the vignettes to his entrance music, the look, his wrestling ability, the whole nine yards! This guy is great and he should've been pushed to the moon starting from when he first started teaming with Roddy Piper and then WWE should've pushed him more from then on but they didn't which really sucks because this guy was a great talent who should've been bigger than he actually was."
[8.0] "Sean O´Haire hatte eigentlich alles was ein Topstar brauchte.
Leider hat man ihn dann fallengelassen, was mich wunderte.
[8.0] "Fand seine "I'm not telling you anything that you don't already know!
