"Had he not been a sick mfer, I would've given him a solid four. I did like the concept of the gimmick. He basically unfortunately joins the dubious list of sickos in wrestling."

It was the New Generation and the era of shitty gimmicks so it felt like they were trying to remake the success of Duggan, but also give him an occupation gimmick because EVERYBODY had to have another job in pro wrestling!"

The WWF were desperate when they hired this guy, one of the roughest times for the company and industry as a whole and it's reflected in fellas just like this. He's not the worst - but he's barely passable for nationwide TV. I guess he's better than your Sivi Afi's, Outback Jack's or Corporal Kirschner's from the golden era. But he's about on par with.., well I guess he *IS* the embodiment of the lowered bar that was mid 90's WWF."

I don't think Duke was as bad as TL Hopper or The Goon & even though his gimmick was kind of silly, he made it work to an extent. People forget today, but when he beat Hunter to earn the number 30 spot in that year's Rumble, people were getting behind Duke. He was not around long enough to earn any high ranking, but I think people should remember him with a little more fondness."

While his gimmick was a somewhat-silly product of the "wrestlers with other jobs" era, he may well have been able to make it work as an everyman babyface character. Unfortunately, injuries took their toll, and he found himself unsuited to life on the road, and those limited his longevity in the WWF."
