Her looks probably are the reason she got such a big push, but so what, who hasn't that been a factor for in this business? Especially for TV, you have to have a certain look and she had it. I think she definitely helped women's wrestling take off and helped it evolve into what it is today. She was entertaining, definitely better than Sunny or Debra. Didn't Trish Stratus start off the same way, and people praise her. I just don't think people realize that she kind of paved the way for the women of today."

Wasn't even really hot - only in a "conventional" manner of the time in which "hotness" was accredited to (white) women by homosexual (white) men running fashion houses and magazines. Laughable that she was champion even in the era she was in, where standards for her division - and, honestly, the ring work within every division - were beneath the floor. Sable attempted to use wrestling as a stepping stone to popular media stardom. When that didn't work out, she returned to wrestling, and had slightly improved. She had slightly improved because the bookers had smartened up and kept her out of the ring as much as possible. I wish her well in her golden years. Still - absolutely rotten performer by almost every metric, whose unearned push kept literally all of the other more talented and deserving women underneath her."

Her intergender matches with Mero and Luna were incredible--this woman with no professional wrestling training pulling off clean hurricanrana's and powerbombs. Her promos were so much fun as a heel; the way she recited those speeches. A legend in her own right who gets unnecessary hate."

[0.0] "Sable was never a wrestler, he never cared about wrestling, an obvious case of what the Attitude Era was, where women were only seen as an object that should be seen as sexual, Sable took that sexualization and increased it. It has always been said that women in the WWF were not talented, that they only served for the enjoyment of men and a large part of that stereotype is due to Sable. My parents always told me "don't smoke, you'll get cancer", "take care of your skin, you'll get cancer" and I always took care of my health, but it didn't matter, because I got cancer anyway when I saw Sable's Powerbomb."
[3.0] "Sable wasn't born out of good wrestling abilities, good work on the mic, good personality, or anything you'd normally look for when you're considering a major push for someone in the industry. The Sable character was born out of McMahon's and Russo's pants (and certainly out of those of multiple other background staff's). Her wrestling and mic ability wasn't there at all, although I'll admit I enjoyed her acting and reactions during the Marc Mero mistreating her storyline. That storyline, as well, is another point of contention: sure, it brought attention and ratings to the WWF, and Marc Mero might have already been overshadowed by Sable prior to it, but the direction that was took both halted Marc Mero's career, and made it so he was basically eternally a heel unless he changed gimmicks, given all the stupidly sexist and "she's my property" comments he had to say during the whole debacle. In the end, Sable wasn't great, or even good for that matter, but I can't blame her at the end of the day: she might have been awful in the backstage, but she was given time in the ring and the spotlight, and did the best she could with it, even if her best isn't exactly spectacular. The fault here relies on the bookers, not the worker."
[7.0] "Sable was really good for her era. Loved her rivalry with Jacqueline. Then she had a great return feud with Stephanie. She deserves better for sure! It was a little cheesy with what was going on with Vince. But she is definitely a memorable superstar!"
[5.0] "Sable was massively over at a very important time in wrestling and her popularity also ended up reviving the WWF Women's Title after it was vacated for 3 years with Alundra Blaze leaving the company, but to me Sable was the definition of a flash in the pan star. She was over because of how she looked and also because of the heel character Marc Mero was when he started mistreating her."

But the fact that she had written in her contract that she is not required to take bumps completely defeated the purpose of having her wrestle. Its a shame she had such a diva attitude because she seemed much better and more interesting as a heel, and with Nicole Bass as her bodyguard, things seemed to be going somewhere until she was refusing to do anything like show up on certain dates or relinquish her title so they had to strip it from her in a makeshift bikini contest and put the damn thing in Debra. Sable had good mixed tag matches with Jacqueline, but that is a testament to Jackie who you could have compared it to wrestling a broomstick. She proved to be strong, able to powerbomb men that were twice the size of her, though it was often botched looking. After the lawsuit failed, she came back and it seems Vince McMahon made it his personal objective to humiliate her behind the scenes as it was written for him to start having an affair with her as she entered a very entertaining feud with Stephanie (mostly to Stephs credit). When looking back, from her time as Meros valet to her return as Torries sometimes lesbian lover sometimes jealous ex playboy model, she lacked many things mostly being charisma, personality, depth, and always seemed to be content doing the bare minimum. She always looked impecable though and is a iconic and rather important part of WWEs womens division history - she should even probably be a HOFr but that doesnt mean she was any good as a performer."
"Fun Fact: While Sunny often gets called the first "Diva", Sable was actually the first in WWE to refer to herself as a Diva. She was super hot, and was over in a big way mainly because of that, but she couldn't wrestle, or talk. WWF/E was trying to appeal to the young male demo and Sable was a big part of that."
[5.0] "With Sable, you either loved her or hated her. As Mero's valet, she was detestable and bothersome, while as a competitor, she was competent and unique in her own way. Her Sable Bomb may have been less than stellar, but I suppose it still got the job done. I didn't have a negative vibe from her, but I also wasn't ever enthralled. She gave good performances here and there, but things just never clicked with me. I surmise it's because that was a bad time for female wrestling, or maybe I just missed her true talent. Sable was a good wrestler and decent character, but until I do more reviewing of her work, I have to have her in the middle."

Sable's greatest asset was her looks and being able to sell it during the peak of the Vince Russo trash TV era."

What may still keep a fan base was her "90's Bimbo look" which was insane (in all of the good ways) but after she had a smaller set put in, all of a sudden her stock plummeted but she thought she was THE most important thing in the company. Her ring work is embarrassingly bad, her mic work is about the same. Her ego is as enormous as her breasts once were. This just shouldn't have been in wrestling at all but Vince had 3 things he used perfectly to save his company in the late 90's: Stone Cold Steve Austin and the super sized breast implants Sable once sported. Weird stuff for the most part that I'm just not into. Again I know this all sounds crass but I don't have much a place for this kinda thing, however it happened and I fast forward through most of it. Soon I will experience her tenure on Smackdown! (which I missed the first go around) and I hope she raises her score here. I would like to see this person rise up and above what she was before, I want to like her...EDIT: I am now watching her era on Smackdown! and, BLEH! she's actually rather creepy and gross during this time frame. What the hell...go away weird insect woman!"

She wasn't that good of a promo, was god awful in the ring (Admittedly, she probably only had about an hours worth of training) and couln not sell a move in the slightest. It had nothing to do with her ability as a performer - she was bad, but it didn't matter to them. She didn't like getting hit or bruised, but that didn't matter to them. It might have been fun to see some of her segments at the time. However, looking back, it's disgusting to think that there were real female talents available, who were passed on because WWE staff were booking women's wrestling with their dicks."

It's honestly mind boggling that they actually think she was good looking. To me, she was very unattractive and quite honestly looked like a granny. Because of these talentless eye candies, talented women who could actually wrestle were overlooked by the companies which is not fair."

Part I'm sure is not all on her because I can only imagine how toxic the locker rooms were for her back then. Her return in 2003 made for some straight-out-of-Jerry-Springer moments with her & Tori. All in all, Sable did very little for me, but she gets a couple of points for being over in a main stream sort of way."

It is often said that it was a shame that Sable got so much attention while real wrestlers like Ivory or Jacqueline got next to none, but the WWE has always had real wrestlers next to valet-wrestlers in it's womens division (even in 2016, see Eva Marie), and it's not like Jacqueline or Ivory never had a title or a storyline. Sable at least attempted to wrestle, which is more then some other ex womens champions can say."

Habe einmal gehört das dies etlichen Damen (u. a. Luna) damals auf den Keks ging."
[5.0] "Ich habe beschlossen mich bei meiner Bewertung nur auf ihre Qualitäten als Wrestlerin und Valet zu konzentrieren. Dem Aussehen eine große Bedeutung beizumessen würde die Note doch sehr verfälschen. Als Wrestlerin hat sie mir nicht gefallen, sie konnte mich mit ihren Aktionen im Ring nie mitreißen wie eine Alundra Blayze, Bull Nakano oder Luna Vachon. Zudem verfügte sie über keinerlei Entertainer-Qualitäten, ihre ganzen Promos waren doch recht langweilig und bleiben nicht im Gedächtnis. Die Fehde mit Mero/Jacqueline konnte mich auch nicht vom Hocker reißen, auch wenn die Idee an sich nicht schlecht war. Als Begleiterin vom Mero - dem Wildman, nicht Marvelous - hat sie mir dagegen gut gefallen, wobei dies aber auch keine sehr anspruchsvolle Rolle war."
"Na klasse, Sable - alias Rena Mero bzw. Lesnar - als Valet von Marc Mero ja noch ganz hübsch, mit natürlicher Ausstrahlung. Dann gingen die Schönheits OP's los (schon klar, Frau muß ja was tun, denn im Kopf war bei ihr anscheinend ohnehin nicht viel ... passend zumindest auch zu ihren Lebensgefährten). Alles was danach noch passierte, war vom Auftreten, aber besonders im Ring eine Beleidigung jedes Wrestling Fans. Selten so eine dermaßen überbewertete Person gesehen, mehr gestolpert oder auf den Hintern gefallen als alles andere, wobei dann immer gleich die Hose kneifte. Es hatte also nicht einmal sexy Momente zu bieten. Ihr Posing oder wenn sie mal den Mund aufmachte, konnte einem ebenfalls die Gesichtszüge entgleisen lassen. Wenigstens hat sie sich anscheinend finanziell abgesichert, zumindest so clever war sie noch."
[3.0] "She was the center of attention when the WWF brought the Women's title back in the late 1990s, when it became focused in bikini contests and catfights rather than wrestling... so I guess we could call her the ultimate icon of the decadence of the women's division."

Her promo efforts lacked any sight of positivity to them, she was plain awful, both inside that ring and outside as well, serving very little purpose to the company she was working for."

Moreover, she was very charismatic, had the look and was marketable, and was indeed a draw. Her choosing Edge as her partner in Edge's first PPV match (SummerSlam '98), for instance, helped bring attention to his burgeoning career. Understandably, her 2003-04 comeback run, at a time when the women's division had become more legitimized, saw her act mainly as a valet and on-air personality, and only participate in a handful of matches. For her time, she served her purpose."

As Jim Cornette put it in a shoot interview, the only thing that seemed to get Sable by during her time in the WWE was her surgically implanted sexy looks."

Sicherlich hat sie ihren Platz in den Top 4 der populärsten WWE-Diven aller Zeiten (nebst Trish, Lita und Chyna) sicher und auch verdient. Für ihr denkwürdiges Bikini Contest-"Outfit" mit den schwarzen Patschehändchen gibt es noch einen Extrapunkt obendrauf."

[1.0] "Ich kann bis heute nicht nachvollziehen, warum ausgerechnet Sable damals vom Blondinen-Trio (Sunny, Sable & Marlena) eine solche Aufmerksamkeit bekam. Sie hatte keine Mic-Skills, keine Ausstrahlung (Titten sind keine Ausstrahlung) und im Ring war sie so schlecht, dass selbst eine Christy Hemme dagegen wie eine Jaguar Yokota wirkt. Schon als sie zuerst als Neuversion von Miss Elisabeth präsentiert wurde (scheu grinsend im Abendkleid) die nur als Valet für Marc Mero diente, hat sie mich einfach null interessiert. Viel zu unterhaltsam waren die anderen beiden. Sunny, die mit ihren großartigen Mic-Skills und ihrem Charisma einer der letzten großen Heel-Manager war, und Marlena, die als mysteriöse Frau an Goldusts Seite das Gimmick vervollständigte. Und als Sable dann plötzlich als Femme Fatal präsentiert wurde (denn Sonnenbrillen machens möglich), fand ich sie einfach nur noch lächerlich. Als sie dann jedoch angefangen hat zu wrestlen, sich geweigert hat wegen ihren Silikonmöpsen zu bumpen und andere Frauen wie Terri Powers sich ständig für sie hinlegen mussten wollte ich sie einfach nur noch aus dem Business raushaben. Zumal sich Berichte häuften, dass sie eine Arroganz entwickelt hatte, die selbst 96-HBK die Tränen in die Augen getrieben hätte. Nicht zu vergessen, dass sie der Hauptgrund ist, warum WWE seitdem mehr auf Bikini-Models statt auf gute Worker gesetzt hat. 1 Punkt da ich widerwillig ihren Impact anerkenne, auch wenn ich ihn nicht verstehe."

[7.0] "Tja... die Sable-Bomb gegen Marc Mero war schon was. Welche "Diva" würde so was heute noch machen? Außer Beth Phoenix und Natalya vielleicht. Davon aber mal abgesehen hatte Sable eigentlich immer eine passable Optik zu bieten - in den späten 90ern noch eher als so um 2003 rum. Und im Ring... nun, da gibt's besseres, aber auch schlechteres! Keine Ahnung warum, aber für mich hat sich so was wie Kultstatus, wenngleich nicht zu vergleichen mit Trish & Lita."
[2.0] "Sie ist das, was man auf englisch eine "Gold Digger" nennt. Ein Wunder, dass Ric Flair ihr noch nicht verfallen ist^^. Schaut ihr in den Ausschnitt und ihr wisst genau, wo Silicon Valley liegt."
[8.0] "Neben glämzend aussehen konnte diese Frau auch gut wrestlen! Zwar nicht auf einem Status wie es etwa Lita oder Chyna taten aber sie war immer gut. Nebenbei ein toller Finisher. Gut aussehen und gut wrestlen ist das Gesamtpacket von Sable. Beispielhaft für heutige Diven!"
[5.0] "Die Jungs mit den Muckis kriegen halt hübsche Püppies. Wenn sie dann noch so blöd sind, und diese ihrem Chef vorstellen, kann tatsächlich passieren, dass dieser Gefallen an ihnen findet. Wenn es dann ganz dumm läuft, kommt die eigene Partnerin ins TV, erhält prima Pops (weil sie eine niedrige Hemmschwelle hat und ihre Klopper zeigt) und der Muckimann selbst verletzt sich schwer, kommt nicht wieder auf die Beine und verschwindet aus dem TV - die Dame bleibt und trennt sich - ganz schön blöd gelaufen, oder (fragt mal Marc Mero)? Ansonsten sah sie wirklich gut aus, hatte aber eine Stimme zum Weglaufen - und berät heute ihren reichen und 10 Jahre jüngeren Ehemann Brock Lesnar karrieretechnisch. Irgendwas muss die Frau doch richtig gemacht haben, oder? Eye-Candy und Impact-Diva, nicht mehr, nicht weniger."
[9.0] "Sie war nicht die jüngste, aber sie war (und ist heute immer noch) eine unglaublich attraktive Frau. Nach ihrem Durchbruch als Managerin von Marc Mero erlangte sie schnell große Popularität und war wohl die erste Diva wie sie heute bei WWE "üblich" ist. Einige sollten sich wirklich etwas mit der "Geschichte" von WWE beschäftigen, bevor sie über die selbige urteilen."
[7.0] "Zu Beginn ihrer WWF-Karriere eine wirklich sehr hübsche Frau. Allerdings wurde sie zunehmender Silikonmenge am gesamten Körper unansehnlicher. Jedoch kann man es ihr nicht alleine vorwerfen, sondern vielmehr der Richtung in die das Wrestling zu jener Zeit zu steuern begann. Aufgrund ihres "Pionier-Status" in Sachen Diventum und weil ich die Frau einfach toll fand die folgende Bewertung........."
[7.0] "Gut aussehend und mit Ausstrahlung, als Sable damals in der WWF anfing, war das noch etwas Besonderes, die Inflation im Diven-Bereich hatte noch nicht um sich gegriffen. Im Ring war sie so schlecht auch nicht, auch wenn sie an die Großen natürlich nie herankam. Die neueren Auftritte habe ich nicht verfolgt, mir hat sie immer gefallen, deshalb 7 Punkte."
[8.0] "Man(n) sollte bei den Diven grundsätzlich unterscheiden, ob es reine Valets oder wirkliche Wrestlerinnen sind. Sable war eindeutig nur ein Valet und hatte im Ring auch nichts verloren. Daher sollte man sie auch nur für das Bewerten, für das zuständig war: Gut aussehen. Daher gibts ne 2. Wir geben ja dem der männlichen Fraktion auch nicht Punkte fürs Kreischen oder hübsch lächeln..."
[0.0] "Ihr Aussehen ist absolut überbewertet, ihr Mic-Work sowieso, und ihre Wrestlingskills sind im Vergleich zu anderen Diven einfach nicht vorhanden. Für Mitte/Ende der 90er, als die Women's Division sowieso am Boden lag, war das ausreichend, aber heutzutage will ich sie nicht in Reichweite eines Rings sehen."
[0.0] "Ganz klar "overrated" - sofern man dies bei einer Diva sagen kann.. Kann bei ihr nicht objektiv werten - ich finde sie ist hässlich, zu künstlich-wirkend silikon-aufgepumpt, auch das Gesicht chirurgisch verunstaltet und auch als Schauspielerin kommt sie nicht gut rüber - höchstens vielleicht in einer Heel/Bit*h-Rolle - da war sie nicht so schlecht (vielleich weil sie in echt auch so ist.. )."
[0.0] "Im Ring hatte sie nichts zu suchen. Was bleibt also zur Bewertung? Mic-Work. Sie hatte eine fürchterlich hohe Piepsstimme die mich gewaltig nervte. Aussehen. Künstlicher geht es nicht mehr. Nö Leute, Sable geht mal gar nicht."
[8.0] "Hat uns in der Vergangenheit gezeigt, dass sie im Ring einiges drauf hat. Am besten geeignet ist sie aber eher als Managerin oder auch GM, da sie eine der besten Diven am Mikro ist, die wir je hatten! Hätte zu ihrer Topzeit mit Sicherheit einen sehr guten Heel GM abgegeben!"
