[10.0] "An absolute talent from his generation and another prime example of a currently active lengend, who's keeping the classic Lucha Libre style alive nowadays. An absolute Master of the mat, every match of his is a spectacle of technical wrestling at its finest, a beautiful exhibition of llaves (submissions) and contrallaves (counter-submissions). With his skills and iconic mask & gear, he's definitely an embodiment of the classic mexican Luchador in every sense of the words."

[10.0] "If Hechicero is the man of a 1000 holds in Mexico today, is thanks to Solar. Mil Mascaras and Dos Caras were the kings of high-flying, Canek and Solitario were the kings of the powerhouses, and Solar and Negro Navarro were the kings of submission. The only bad match this man ever had occurred because he injured his left shoulder but still tried to carry on. Some are blessed with great wisdom and destiny, two things that got Solar into this business."

Battles against FNLL champion and previously CMLL world middleweight champion El Satanico was the stuff of local integrity buzz. His mask vs hair match beating Kiss to shave his head completely bald. He would later on wrestle his wrestling counterpart after reaching 50 in single matches in Japan and Mexico. Mano Negra may had got the better of him one on one but he is a trailblazer for peak submission art."

[9.0] "Forget Zack Sabre Jr, the real "submission master" is Solar, and that's final. Were I to make a very partial list of the submission moves he has used I would quickly run out of the 3, 000 character limit: Solar was a veritable submission machine that kept on going and going. Solar got into pro-wrestling basically by chance: a Graeco-Roman wrestling virtuoso, Los Calaveras trained with him to hone the grappling skills. Solar asked them to show him a few pro-wrestling moves out of curiosity and he was instantly won over. Differently from many other legends he resisted the big paychecks offered by promoters and still has his mask (albeit he lost a hair vs hair match against Mano Negra a decade ago or so) and his mystique: he wrestles the very occasional match for olt times' sake and has avoided embarrassing himself so far. Of, and really cool mask as well!"
