[8.0] "Gangrel is always going to be a wrestler I deeply enjoy. He's someone I've seen live a few times, and he moves around the ring with so much speed, it's fantastic even now. He's gotten a long time out a vampire character, and his work in CCW right now is an easy way to see he's still a solid worker."

[8.0] "Gangrel is a beloved memory of my early fandom (or fangdom? ) of Pro Wrestling. When he first showed up in the WWF, the way he moved in the ring was unlike anybody else. He really dug into the gimmick and tried to be different. His peak years were obviously in the late 90s, and I guess his mic skills hurt his ability to become a bigger name, and I was always surprised he never won something like the European Championship. I think Gangrel is an unsung hero of the Monday Night Wars and if he was around during the Invasion Angle that *should* have happened, I would have loved to see a feud with him and Vampiro."

[4.0] "I don't want to be a hater, but he was given a gimmick that Edge & Christian perfected and he got to ride the coattails of. His mic work & ring work was frankly lackluster, but he still gets to dress up at cons and live off the act 25 years later. Credit him for helping a young E&C break in, but nothing about him was memorable besides his costume"

[5.0] "I truly believe that Gangrel would never have been as big as he was if not for the fantastic gimmick with the Brood and the Ministry. He wasn't awful in the ring, but he was pretty terrible on the mic. I might think less of him in part because I mostly know him from the Brood, where he was teamed up with the talents of Edge and Christian."

[8.0] "Not a great talker, but an amazing look and gimmick wrapped around an above average wrestler. Also a true, experienced journeyman who's been just about everywhere in the business. He's generally underrated, and undeservedly so, as he's an iconic part of the Attitude Era."

[7.0] "A storied veteran whose smart ring style has kept him viable into his 50s. Weak natural look that even the heavy gimmick can't entirely cover up. Athletic, exciting bumper in his prime, now bumps more sparingly but with conviction. Excellent at selling. Offence relies on his intense strikes with a few throws to mix it up - a fun style but unfashionable today. Has a slightly unfair reputation as a bad talker, as his most prominent work in the WWE asked him to deliver long, intricate speeches while wearing fake fangs. That said, Gangrel's promo skills are somewhat basic even when in his element, best-suited to the old territory "opponent, location, date" formula. Under-rated for his peak ringwork and still worth watching to this day."

[7.0] "His stuff with the brood during the Attitude era was awesome and Gangrel could generally back up his cool gimmick with solid wrestling. The guy is still going today and hasn't lost much of a step."

[5.0] "The edgy vampire gimmick worked fine in 98/99 WWF, but he didn't have much beyond his image and when the Brood formed, it was becoming clear that Edge and Christian were the better talents and they quickly passed him by."

[7.0] "To me he will always be "The Vampire Warrior". I liked The Blackhearts and when I found out one was him (many years later) I found even more of him to appreciate! He later went on to be "The Black Phantom" in the same outfit (I at least knew that was the same guy haha! ) and was using that gimmick specifically for enhancement work in the 94/95 WWF. Now onto his most famous role: Gangrel! The apex of his career where he found himself smack dab in the middle of the Attitude era, being one of their most iconic performers with his jaw dropping and visually stimulating entrance. Everyone loved The Brood and I am no exception. The man still wrestles in the independents at a high level for his age. His greatest attributes are his dedication and ability to gel well with practically everyone. His career was in a way snake bit though: He indeed delivered some of the most terrible promos I have ever heard and even his voice cadence was strikingly awful - one of the worst promo guys ever-ever, d'oh!"

[8.0] "Gangrel is great talent in the ring. Had a really fun gimmick. Is regarded as one of the nicest guys in pro wrestling. Is really good at training wrestlers. Overall, a great guy to have in pro wrestling who can do almost everything well"

[9.0] "Gangrel is one of the most underrated wrestlers in history, simply because WWF never allowed him to show what he could do (although some of his performances were convincing, like against X-Pac, Gangrel's only sufficiently long singles match in WWF) and his gimmick doesn't help to give him credibility in a ring. But Gangrel is a very good wrestler, who knows how to put a lot of impact, who has a real presence, a real look. He's also a good coach. The Brood is a legendary clan, partly because of him."

[3.0] "While the Brood was a strong stable, that was based entirely on Edge and Christian-- it was clear that Gangrel wasn't much of a character and was just holding them back. The vampire gimmick was weird, but not out of place in the Attitude era. But Gangrel didn't have much to add to it-- he couldn't really wrestle and I don't ever remember him cutting a promo at all."

Der Ultimate Warrior war ja auch ein He Man Double, der Dingo Warrior im Umkleideraum genannt wurde, weil er wie ein Krieger aussah. Oder doch nicht? He has stated that he adopted the ring name "Dingo Warrior" after a member of the WCCW locker room remarked that he looked like "a warrior". [10] This stood in contrast with a claim made by Road Warrior Animal, who stated that the Dingo Warrior was a recreation of Warrior's Blade Runner gimmick and was an attempt to present himself as an offspring of The Road Warriors. [5.0] "Amazing gimmick and believable character in the peak of the Attitude Era. Even though Gangrel doesn't have any memorable matches, when you think of the Attitude Era, he's one of the first people that come to mind, which shows you how much of a chord he struck back then. He's mostly an underutilized talent. You somewhat feel like his gimmick could've been given to someone else and it would've been better. He was pretty basic in the ring, though he was the first person I saw do the Implant DDT, so he basically innovated that move. Wasn't a very good talker either. Gangrel was basically all gimmick and nothing else, but he was important to Edge and Christian's careers of showcasing them."

[7.0] "Interesting guy! He was great early in his career in Florida and the indies. When it came to WWE his gimmick was great. The Vampire gimmick was interesting and apropos for its time in the Attitude era. He only got big when he was with Edge and Christian, and a bit with the Hardyz. After that did not go anywhere as WWF did not give him a push. Sad that WWE wasted talent him. WOuld have been interesting to see where he could have gone in WWF. His Implant DDT is great!"

[9.0] "I absolutely loved Gangrel when he came back in '04 or '05 when I was a child , and through the internet I've been able to see him wrestle alongside Edge & Christian as The Brood and his gimmick in WWF was amazing! I honestly wish that they pushed him to the Main Event scene. However , he helped escalate the careers of both The Hardy Boyz & E&C , so he did an amazing job with that as well."

[7.0] "Ist besser als man denkt wenn man ihn in Nicht Main Stream Matches sieht. Hat die Jahre auch wieder an Gewicht verloren und wirkt sehr fit. Besitzt auch wie viele eine einige Wrestling Schule. Ist leider wieder das selbe Problem das die meisten ihn nur durch die WWE kennen und ihn dadurch schlecht bewerten."

[7.0] "The guy scores an extra point for going all the way with the prosthetic teeth & really doing a solid job with living the gimmick. A super cool entrance & visually interesting. I'm kind of surprised that this gimmick was not able to find more success. But I guess in the time of Stone Cold & ECW, realism was really what people wanted to see & a phony vampire drinking tomato juice didn't quite cut it."

[7.0] "Dude was in the WWF for two years and is one of the most memorable midcarders ever, very good in ring ability, but for the love of god don't give him a live mic."

[6.0] "Gangrel hatte was, cooler Entrance, auch ein paar richtig gute Moves auf Lager. Natürlich war er nie Titel-Aspirant. Das braucht man aber auch nicht, um gut unterhalten zu können."

[7.0] "One of the coolest entrances in the WWE in that Attitude Era. theme and entrance was spot on and while he was good in the ring his mic skills really let him down if you ask me. It's a shame as I would of liked to have seen more of Gangrel as the lone vampire after the Brood split up but he didn't seem to be around for too long afterwards."

Das Ding mit der Brood war bisl blöd weil E&C wirklich in allen Belangen besser waren als er-schlimm wurde es am mic. Da wurden die Defizite wirklich schnell ersichtlich. Die Gothsache war als Jugendlicher damals ganz cool-heute eher als 90er-trash zu betrachten. Alles in allem solide-mit dem richtigen Gegner kamen durchaus nette Minuten zu stande. :)"

[2.0] "Ich kann mir nicht erklären warum man ihn den Anführer der Brood spielen ließ ? Anscheinend nur weil er etwas massiger als Edge und Christian war, das ist für mich die einzige plausible Erklärung. Gangrel ist der einzige Stable-Cheff den ich kenne, der in seinem eigenen Stable, die wenigsten In-Ring skills hatte und auch in Sachen Micwork und Charisma steckten ihn seine Gefährten locker in die Tasche. Das Gimmick war typischer 90er Jahre Trash und im Ring war er selbst für damalige Verhältnisse nur solide. Als Einzelwrestler war er nicht ernstzunehmen da half auch keine Luna als Begleiterin."

[0.0] "Wenn ich den Vogel schon sehe wird mir schlecht. Im Ring auch null Talent. Wer hatt den bloß auf die Menscheit losgelassen? Passte zwar mit Edge und Christian zur Brood und dann auch als Marionetten des Undertaker, aber alles andere war ohne Sinn und Verstand."

[3.0] "Für meinen Geschmack eine Halbwertzeit unter Zimmertemperatur. Fürst von und zu Schnarch und Gähn Dracula. Christopher Lee hatte da als Schauspieler in dem Metier eindeutig mehr Biss und wirkte niemals so billig und künstlich."

[7.0] "Gangrel is perhaps the most memorable wrestler to portray the vampire gimmick, and had the look and ability to portray a vicious streak to back it up. Served as a great midcard act for late-'90s WWF with one of the best ring entrances of all time - coming through the ring of fire with his chalice of "viscous red liquid" - and served as a veteran hand to lead the Brood and help launch Edge and Christian's careers. Still appears on the indy scene and recently returned to a televised role with Vegas-based Paragon Pro Wrestling."

[5.0] "Sein Gimmick war schon mal was anderes, es hat auch sehr gut zu ihm gepasst, da er ja den Goth-Style auch Privat auslebt. Egal wie gut sein Gimmick war oder ist oder wie gut er es gespielt hat, es war einfach nichts besonderes."

[5.0] "Kann und konnte mit Goth eh immer wenig anfangen, dann kam Gangrel. Sein Auftreten fand ich anfangs noch urig cool, was mich selbst ein wenig überrascht hat, da ich mit sowas, gerade Vampiren, nix am Hut habe. Also Begeisterung. Die nutzte sich jedoch recht schnell an, denn abseits des blutspuckenden Draculas ist Gangrel derart langweilig, da nutzt es auch nix, das er ein netter Kerl ist."

[5.0] "Bekam die grosse Chance auf dem Silbertablett serviert - ein Gimmick, das er lebt, eine Storyline mit Blutbad-Attacken und in Edge und Christian eine talentierte Crew, welche ihm den Rücken freihalten sollte. Sein Problem - seine Promos waren lahm und den Matches wurde wenig Entfaltungsspielraum gewährt. Und spätestens als Edge & Christian selbst zum Mic griffen, war zumindest in der WWF sein Schicksal besiegelt - E&C strahlten hell, Gangrel verblasste. Ein solider und talentierter Worker, dem trotz relativ uniquer Erscheinung das gewisse Etwas abging, um selbst in der bunten Attitude-Era mehr als nur eine Prise Relevanz darzustellen."

[10.0] "I loved it when Gangrel led Edge and Christian during his time with The Brood, I also liked when he formed The New Brood with the Hardys."

[9.0] "Und sehet, es wahrt mal wieder ein ex-WWEler, der eigentlich mehr konnte, doch dem außer Blut spucken nix zugetraut wurde. Zwar wird jetzt im Spät-Herbst seiner Karriere vermutlich nicht mehr viel kommen, aber einige gute Jahre, kann er noch haben und uns Fans wohl sicherlich noch beschehren!"

[1.0] "Ich kann ihn als Wrestler nicht ernst nehmen. Sein Gimmick als Gangrel der Vampir finde ich total geschmacklos. Wie er sein Mund öffnete und seine Zunge rausstreckte, total billig. Das erinnert mich irgendwie an Miley Cyrus."

[0.0] "Grausames Gimmick und genau so schlecht im Ring. Ein Fall für die Vorspultaste."

[7.0] "Fand ihn früher nicht so berauschend, abgesehen von seinem coolen WWF-Gimmick. Aber als ich ihn persönlich kennegelernt habe & gesehen hab, wie er sich in England den Arsch abgearbeitet hat, habe ich nur mehr Respekt vor ihm. Ein netter & cooler Zeitgenosse."

[10.0] "When I was a kid and watched WWE during the Attitude Era, I just thought Gangrel was awesome. His character, his look, his music, his entrance coming up from the fire and spitting fake blood, I just loved everything about this guy. He is without a doubt, the best vampire character in wrestling history. With all due respect to Kevin Thorn, I love the guy, I follow Kevin's career nonstop cause I'm a big fan of him but Gangrel's character was just off the charts especially when he was the leader of The Brood with Edge & Christian and even The New Brood with the Hardy Boyz, Gangrel was just one of the greatest characters as well as a great wrestler and there's no doubt that Kevin Thorn wouldn't disagree on that."

[2.0] "Hat wirklich nichts zu bieten im Ring, aber seine bloße Erscheinung ist schon sehr krass-und das im positiven Sinn. Als Manager der jungen Hardys war er perfekt, für die In Ring Leistung gäbe es hier keine Punkte zu verteilen."

[6.0] "Gangrel ist auch so ein 08/15 Wrestler, der nur durch sein Gimmick heraussticht! Aber man kann ihn sich ansehen, 6 Punkte."

[4.0] "Cooles Gimmick, wrestlerisch aber nicht gerade der Tollste."

[7.0] "War immer in der Lage tolle Matches zu bestreiten(z. B gegen X-pac beim RR99) Aber auch hier gilt-WWE hat es nicht erkannt."

[9.0] "Gimmick passt, tolle Ausstrahlung und gut in Ring. Seine beste Zeit hatte er mit der "Brood" Hätte ihn jetzt noch gerne in der WWE gesehn."

[7.0] "Habe Gangrel bei der RWA im Februar in Wien gesehen. Das Match war nicht das beste seiner Art, aber der Entrance dafür umso mehr. Da bekam man echt den Mund nicht mehr geschlossen vor staunen. Finde er ist eine Bereicherung für jede Show, aber der Gegner muß passen, damit man was aus ihm machen kann."

[10.0] "Genau meine Wellenlänge, damals als die ECW durch Vince reformiert wurde, hätte ich ihn viel viel lieber als Kevin Thorn gesehn, da ich auch der Meinung bin, dass wenn es um das Vampirgimmick geht kein Weg an Gangrel vorbeiführt."

[5.0] "Gangrel ist auch so ein tolles Gimmick der Attitude Ära. Gimmick hin oder her im Ring war er nicht besonders."

[9.0] "Finde das Gimmick des Gangrel ziemlich gut. Sehe ihn hin und wieder sehr gern. Hat mir zum Beispiel in Deutschland bei der EWP sehr gut gefallen. Top Heel!"

[3.0] "Ich fand den Charakter einfach nervig und zudem kann ich mich an irgendwelche herausragenden Leistungen im Ring nicht erinnern."

[8.0] "Ich habe seine Matches immer gerne gesehen als Ganrel und als Black Phantom wo ich schade fand das er da z. B. sogar gegen Aldo Montoya verloren hat oder mußte obwohl er damals schon gute Wrestlingaktionen drauf hatte und oft besser in den Matches war."

[6.0] "Sein Gimmick hat mir Recht gut gefallen, liegt wohl an einer allgemeinen Affinität gegenüber dunklen, mythischen Gestalten. Es war allerdings nicht überragend und kam beileibe nicht in Sphären einer anderen Dunklen Macht der WWE. An eine Promo von ihm kann ich mich nicht erinnern und rein wrestlerisch hat er meines Wissens auch nichts überragendes gezeigt, war aber solide und als Teil der Brood und der Ministry sehr passend. 6 Punkte"

[4.0] "Das Gimmick finde ich eigentlich gar nicht so schlecht, aber im Ring ist er eher langweilig. Hat mich bei der EWP auch nicht vom Stuhl gerissen."

[10.0] "Verdient sehr viel Anerkennung und Respekt in diesem Bis. Er hat heutigen Superstars den Weg geebnet und ihnen mit seinem großen Erfahrungsschatz unglaublich weitergeholfen. Lebt sein Gimmick und hat auch im Ring sowie am Mic was drauf, ich hoffe er schaft nochmal den sprung in eine der größeren Ligen. Hail you Dave!"

[4.0] "Das einzig gute an ihm war sein Gimmick. Schwache In-Ring Fähigkeiten und wenig Charisma."

[8.0] "Wenn man einem Wrestling Fan sagt, nenn mir schnell ein Wrestler, der ein Vampir Gimmick hat. Und es kommt sofort die Antwort: Gangrel. ! Er war der einzigste, der es wirklich mit diesem Gimmick beschafft und auch perfekt umgesetzt hat. Leider waren seine In-Ring Fähigkeiten "begrenzt""

[6.0] "Stand bei der Brood immer im Schatten von Edge und Christian. Das Gimmick ist auch nicht gerade nach meinem Geschmack, im Ring Mittelmaß. Das macht dann 6 Punkte!"

[6.0] "Im Ring nicht grad der Bringer, aber sein Gimmick hat er immer gut gespielt, sodass auch eine Drei noch drin ist."

[6.0] "Hab ihn gern gesehen - vor allem zu BROOD-Zeiten (egal ob mit den Hardyz oder Edge & Christian). Vor allem der Brood-Theme war super! Auch im Ring hatte er mehr drauf, als viele wohl bemerkt haben. 7 Punkte!"

[6.0] "Gimmick gut gespielt, aber kein Wunder kann ja auch nur eins, das sollte man dann schon beherrschen. Im Ring nicht mehr als 4 Punkte und Gimmick 8 Punkte sind insgesamt 6."
