To honor the legendary El Santo once again CMLL hosted the annual Leyenda de Plata tournament and the final of it took place at the Arena Mexico between New Japan Pro Wrestling's Rocky Romero and young and upcoming Mascara Dorada 2.0. In an amazing match Dorada pulled up the upset and beat the current NWA World Historic Welterweight Champion not only to win one of the most the prestigious tournaments of all Mexico but also to earn him a potential future titlematch against Romero.
