[10.0] "Ryohei Oiwa is the future of NJPW. He is the most naturally over guy New Japan have in their hands. His in-ring is one of the best in the promotion and people back him whoever he faces, even top babyfaces like Goto and Yuya. A future IWGP Heavyweight champion, hopefully sooner than later."
[10.0] "I've been singing the praises of the latest G1 winner since his excursion bangers with Kiyomiya. Oiwa is incredible, a heavyweight powerhouses trained by the likes of Ogawa and ZSJ is truly one of the most complete professional wrestlers in the world, and he's only been doing this for four years. Oiwa is the man."
[10.0] "Oiwa's year has been really good so far, especially the g1 climax. he had to QUALIFY in order to get that spot and now that he won the tournament, i'll say he deserved that hardwork he put in throughout the season."
[10.0] "He is the future of New Japan Pro Wrestling, what else can i say about this man. He's a stud, technical, has the charisma, his grappling and mat work is top tier, and he's a generational talent and he has HEADLOCK a damn HEADLOCK that makes everyone go wild including myself, he has such a basic move-set but everything that he does, you can feel how much power or technique he has behind it. He's breaking past his limit and he's gonna go even higher in the future and he has everything to be remembered as one of the greatest of all time. (10/10)"
[10.0] "What can I say man I LOVE THIS GUY. When I watch The Grip I really feel like I'm watching the future of New Japan. He's so good at using basic moves to their absolute limit. Like he gets me screaming for a headlock man"
[10.0] "The Grip is absolutely the future of New Japan Pro Wrestling, and all other wrestlers will find it difficult to top his win in the G1 Climax Final anytime soon. Genuinely incredible wrestler and I'm extremely excited to see what Ryohei Oiwa can do in the future."
[10.0] "Ryohei Oiwa is an unbelievable athlete who can shines against any wrestler. Presenting a high level of Mat work & Grappling skills with his strong shape of ability and physicality. The future is ahead for this young star to write history in Japanese professional wrestling."
[10.0] "god himself. got a headlock over as a finisher in 2026 (at the age of 27). hasn't even been wrestling for 5 years yet. put on one of the greatest matches i've ever seen in the g1 36 final. endorsed by goddamn yoshinari ogawa."
[10.0] "After the 2026 G1 Climax, no one can say that is not a 10, and he's got so much years behind him left. He's the present, and the future of New Japan Pro Wrestling, an incredible talent. He have everything and will only get better."
[10.0] "The present, and the future of New Japan Pro Wrestling. Ryohei Oiwa is a truly unbelievable talent. He has power, he has speed, he has technique. A complete wrestler already, and only getting better. Very deserving of this 10/10 rating."
[10.0] "Ryohei Oiwa is a truly phenomenal talent. Amidst a generation that is beginning to step up and carve out their own era of New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Oiwa may just be the brightest of star of the bunch. He's technically excellent, charismatic, and packs a real punch with his striking. His G1 CLIMAX 36 campaign was incredible. Being able to centre a number of matches around something as simple as a headlock yet having the audience in the palm of his hand shows just how special of a talent we're dealing with. Even if he doesn't manage to win this year's tournament, Oiwa should be a future G1 winner and IWGP Heavyweight Champion without a doubt."
[10.0] "Truly the best wrestler in his generation and right now in my opinion he's the best wrestler in the world, fantastic in every aspect of wrestling he's matches has a lot of ideas and techniques, he's potential can make him one of the greatest wrestlers of all time in the future."
[8.0] "I think he has a huge potential in the ring, but he still has to put together a lot of things to really make it work. His matches are more than fine on a technical standpoint, but right now you cannot count on him to bring fire into them. All the matches of his that really worked have been against opponents that can bring that same fire in spades, for example Uemura, Tsuji and KOB. He can for sure find that something and be a top guy in New Japan, but right now he still feels like a half cooked wrestler, a bit forced in more ways than one"
[8.0] "I like Oiwa a lot, unfortunately despite returning from a good exursion in NOAH, NJPW decided the obvious starpower potentional Oiwa had was perfect for the role of TMDK extra. Once NJPW wakes up and puts in effort to making any stars that aren't the attempts with Tsuji & Umino or with foreigners like Newman who'll probably be gone in 2 years I can see Oiwa having the potential to be the next Ace. Maybe he should just leave for NOAH at this point where they actually made an effort to make something with him. He's got a great look, good worker & can connect with the crowd when given the chance. At the very least there's been a hint of acknowledgement in NJPW that Oiwa should be a bigger deal in 2026 but the track record has not been great in New Japan for about a decade now when it comes to making new stars."
[9.0] "One of our finest. He puts so much effort into every single movement, takes on every match with so much passion whether it's a title shot or a random undercard tag. Few nail the struggle of wrestling like Oiwa does."
[7.0] "I've seen Ryohei Oiwa compared to a young Kenta Kobashi and it would seem that NJPW has caught on to that fact and are starting to present him as such. He's clearly got a long way to go before he's ready for that big singles push but he's been getting better month over month. Tagging with the likes of Zack Sabre Jr. against people like Yuto-Ice and Yuya Uemura will do that for you. I'm in the minority in thinking he's still rather bland at this point but I'm starting to notice some fire building up in his performances."
[9.0] "THE GRIP! This guy is interesting to watch because of his technical skills, thanks to the influence of his mentors ZSJ and Ogawa. When I first saw his match in NOAH, I knew he was destined to be a big deal. You can already see his mastery of technical wrestling, and he's only going to get better at applying it over time. He brings a traditional, pure wrestling feel to every match. It's been amazing to watch his growth from his Young Lion days to where he is now. His crafty moveset and technical skills make every match a must watch."
[10.0] "I absolutly love Ryohei Oiwa from his run in noah, his feud against Kaito and his incredible N1 Victory 2024. I was sad at first that i left noah and comes back to New Japan. But i see a great future for him and the fact that he is involved in TMDK with Zack Sabre Jr is very great for him and his Wrestling career."
[8.0] "This dude has been on FIRE ever since his excursion to NOAH, and after his excellent match with Kiyomiya and return to NJPW, he's only gotten better and I'm excited to watch this guy grow and gain more experience until he finally wins the big one."
[8.0] "I have really only seen his work in Pro Wrestling NOAH so far, but for such an inexperienced wrestler he is a STAR and the complete package. Dude is going to go very far in his career, and we will hopefully one day get to call him a World Champion."
[7.0] "I dont know what Oiwas ceiling going to be like in the future but I think his excursion in NOAH definitely helped him he looks better as a wrestler improved more from being alongside Kaito & is already looking like a very solid tag team wrestler I still think he hasnt reached his fullest potential & theres a lot more room for improvement Im excited to see how hell look in NJPW after his NOAH excursion time for now hell be a [7]"
[7.0] "He's already very good for a wrestler with a little more than 2 years of in ring experience, good at mat wrestling, strong, looks great and gives this vibe of an old school babyface. He doesn't have to tweak too much things to become a main eventer and I think his excursion to NOAH might give him an advantage over other young lions coming back to NJPW as he'll already have more experience in bigger puro matches than the other young lions who go to foreign countries to learn how to work a style that is honestly rarely useful when they come back. He only needs more matches and more experience but he'll definitely become a main event star."
[8.0] "My original ranking was a 7 and about how he probably was the young lion most benchmarked from greatness of his class. That has only compiled since as he finds himself teaming with Kaito Kiyomiya in NOAH. Everything about him screams old school puro babyface in the vein of Shiozaki and Kobashi. Someone you can hitch your company to hopefully. As of now though, he is improving rapidly and already catching the attention of fans. Im super excited to see where he ends up cuz there is big potential"
[8.0] "Oiwa being the smartest and sliest of the bunch takes a huge advantage on advances. He's still going through a developing process, but sure hell will be perfect when the time comes. Edit: Under the tutelage of Kiyomiya, he will try his luck developing in NOAH. May the spirit of the ark help him find his way to become a total beast."
[7.0] "Oiwa is definitely a good investment for NJPW. He's got good ring skills, but needs a little more fine tuning, which is normal for a rookie. A tad bit more charisma could also be added for good measure. I can't wait to see what he does on his excursion."
[8.0] "Oiwa is the best of his generation of young lions. He showed plenty of times that he can move around and that is always well prepared. And honestly you can't judge by his minor mistakes because rookies oftenly tend to make them. It's normal. Definitely one of the next big things in NJPW."
[5.0] "i normally rate young lion just 5 brcause they didnt show what they got 100%, i will rate him more when he wrestler outside japan for exp and come back to NJPW again"
[4.0] "Ryohei's emotion and presence has been entertaining, but I've seen him make a few mistakes in his matches on New Japan Road. He should continue his training and practice."
