"When I was growing up, Jim Powers was my favorite WWF job guy. I don't know what it was about him but I liked watching any match that he was in and kept hoping he might get a push."

[5.0] "Too bad an an era with guys that didn't look like they frequented the gym much like Adrian Adonis, Honkey Tonk Man and Ted Dibiase all getting big pushes, someone with a body like Powers couldn't make more of a mark. Unfortunately, he never really developed any signature moves, and just used a generic set of 80's moves (kicks, arm wringers, with a powerlam probably his most used finisher). That said, I was at live events he performed at and he was definitely over with the young ladies in the audience. He had a great look, and give him credit for being a team player and putting over so many guys on their way up the card. His run as part of the Young Stallions was exciting. It was nice to see a couple of guys that you saw losing every week start to "get better" and get some surprise wins. Too bad they couldn't stand each other."

Best run was probably with Teddy Long in WCW and even then, lost 70% of his matches. Young Stallions were mediocre and only wins against named tag teams were head scratching referee decisions or teams ready to break up. Their matches versus the Shadows and Conquistadors were painstaking to watch."

[4.0] "Another guy with the look but unlike Paul Roma, his in ring skills weren't as good and he lacked charisma. Also, when he was put in a match with Lex Luger in WCW and you saw the height difference, it's pretty obvious why the guy didn't go farther."

[5.0] "Poor Jim, he barely improved over all of the years. His skill set was rudimentary and his mic skills are all but a few sentences (maybe 6) over his entire career. Looked like a million dollars; big bright smile, tremendous physique but was noticeably short. Permanently cast as enhancement talent - he just didn't have it in him to go further. He should thank Paul Roma for elevating and carrying him in The Young Stallions, that was his best stuff."

[5.0] "Good look, extremely basic wrestler. Very limited arsenal of moves, clothesline, 9 turnbuckle head smashes (+10th one opposite corner), sometimes 10 corner punches, kick to the gut, run to the ropes - a knee lift, then a babyface celebratory pose and a powerslam - if he was going over, or no powerslam, when he was getting beat. Every single match. I gave him a 5, but only because he was really built, unlike most jobbers. While he was obviously dedicated in the gym, he seemed very lazy as a wrestler. I thought he could have developed his skills over the years, but did not seem to care enough to really try to improve. Maybe he thought why bother, this is his spot - and fact is, he wouldn t suddenly become a superstar in 1997 no matter what he did, which is true, but not doing everything exactly the same all the time and adding a few spots could have made him more interesting."

[8.0] "A great wrestler, with great abilities! It's a shame that Powers used to lose matches against other opponents, specially, in the WWF. Just look at the 2010 matches, 0 loses!"
