[6.0] "While technically fun and an early standout in RINGS, his slide after entering the true shoot world is impossible for me to overlook. His matches became more desperate, his physique less impressive and his charisma sank. I am quite possibly being unfair as he was thrown to the wolves by Maeda there, but my thoughts on seeing a Yoshihisa Yamamoto match after 1996 are "oh no its Yoshihisa Yamamoto" rather than "oh yes its Yamamoto, this will be sikk""
[10.0] "His career was relatively short and he did not have a gigantic impact in terms of box office matches, but in terms of pure skill and technical ability, it's hard not to give him a 10. He can be overlooked with guys like Volk Han, Kiyoshi Tamura, and Tsuyoshi Kohsaka having bigger matches, but anytime he stepped into the ring, you were given at least an above-average match with skill, psychology, and technical ability all arriving in one package. It's a shame he wasn't given a spotlight until the later years of RINGS and beyond, but his work will stand the test of time."
