[4.0] "In 2022 it seemed like she had the world in her hands even in the US people knew about Wakamania but since she was put in EXV her character hasn't been good and her matches have been kinda mid, she's going to forever be a comedy wrestler"
[4.0] "Part of the problem with Waka is she's a comedy character that isn't really funny at all, and her wrestling is sub-par at best. I've tried to like Waka but tbh she's the worst worker in stardom currently. Leave the comedy to someone who can pull it off."
[2.0] "One of the ladies on the roster I find hard to give a fuck about, pretty girl, but she does nothing for me in ring wise, I will give her a prop though, she's actually one of the more better actresses on the roster"
[7.0] "The curious case of Waka Tsukiyama: Stardom often makes their rookies lose a lot right out of the gate. But to Book someone to be winless for so long was an interesting decision. I genuinely felt so sad for Waka. But her finally getting her first win was so moving & it also added a dynamic for Tam to use as a leader. Waka is not the best in the ring, but she's someone I can't help but to root for. There are a lot of interesting directions they could go in if they ever wanted to turn her heel. But as a babyface, I want her to succeed so much."
[8.0] "I actually started watching AWG because of Waka Tsukiyama. Her gimmick looked cool but it actually turned out to be kind of cringey. When she first moved from to Stardom she was a blank slate for Ogawa to mould into a pathetic, joke character who went on to lose well over 100 consecutive matches! These words may sound harsh but it was this and her aptitude for playing that character brilliantly that made me a big fan once again! She improved tremendously in the ring during this time as well. Looking at how her score has not improved on this site over the years I can only assume people find it hard to differentiate between the booking of a wrestler and their in ring ability. You can be a great wrestler and lose almost all the time after all. Currently Waka is as entertaining as ever, maintaining the core essence of her weak but humorous character while no longer being in the position of rookie."
[3.0] "Two years ago, Waka Tsukiyama had some potential and was a really lovable underdog, and despite her really limited ring work, she was good to retransmit emotions but since the end of the Wakamania, she lost all her appeal and now she's not longer endearing but more annoying, unfunny and her hip attacks are terrible, this is neither funny or relevant to me but not only that, she didn't improve in the ring since, she's sloppy and most of her moves look weak. Stardom's worst wrestler, even the rookies are more relevant than her."
[7.0] "Come on baby, she is Waka. Waka is amazing at evoking emotions, her matches are emotional but without the story of her gaining her first win. She may be hampered. Still a very good storyteller if nothing else"
[7.0] "Stardom's great underdog story. Impressive character work makes you want her to win all the time- in ring, she's improved but is still someway off even being solid midcard."
[9.0] "The thing that make Waka great is the way she makes you sympathize with her. She makes you feel emotions that many wrestlers fail to. She for sure can improve in the ring, but the fighting spirit and strong determination to succeed make her probably the best babyface in Stardom right now for me personally."
[10.0] "I've been a wrestling fan for 30 years and it's been since I was a child that a wrestler has made me feel as many emotions as Waka does. She makes me feel like a father cheering her on to keep getting up and work harder until you succeed. Sure the in-ring can still improve but 1000's of wrestlers have come and gone without making me feel emotions like Waka has"
"I adore Waka. Seeing her journey over the last six months ago as she has slowly got closer and closer to her goal has been inspiring. Sure, her in-ring work isn't amazing but wrestling is far more than moves and transitions, it's about fighting spirit and passion. Waka has been an amazing underdog babyface, booked perfectly. Her match on the 25th March had tears in my eyes. How many wrestlers can do that? Absolutely amazing babyface who gets the basics of what makes wrestling great, far more than most."
[7.0] "Absolutely phenomenal character work, quite possibly the best underdog story going in wrestling today. However, I'm forced to leave as a 7 as her ring work is still not all there yet. Eagerly looking forward to seeing her improve in that regard."
[8.0] "It's a little unfair to rate her by judging the way she's been booked all these years. For her role in Stardom, she is very fit and she plays it perfectly. She is supposed to be an underdog and I guess that's how she is going to remain for a long time. Even now that she has been given Shirakawa's spot in the goddess league."
[4.0] "How am I the first one to rate a 4? Anyway, she has tremendous underdog likeability and unique charisma. Once her in ring catches up to those traits, she'll be a popular mid card worker that will always have a loyal following of fans."
[7.0] "Among fans, who don't watch a particular promotion closely enough, it's common to use phrases such as "that top champ carrying the promotion on his/her back" or "can that person handle the load of a top champ? " If we talk about Stardom, the role of the main champion here is actually not so great. Yes, of course, they main-event PPVs, but on minor shows, which are the majority, such workhorses as Waka Tsukiyama play even more significant role. The undercarders' stories are what most of these shows focus on. And of course, Waka Tsukiyama is the clearest example this year. She'll probably never be the top champion, but she's one of the people (with Rina, Hanan, Hina, Koogho, Iida...) who make the Stardom undercard the most exciting on the planet and make people buy tickets."
[10.0] "She is Da Wak and she is such a passionate and fun wrestler. Endless charisma with the best facial expressions in wrestling. She's very speedy in the ring and is always adding new moves to the repertoire! I wish for her success, she has earned it."
[6.0] "I don't know what the guy saying she has no charisma is talking about, because she definitely has that. Charisma means being magnetic, charming, etc. Well, she does draw attention, is magnetic due to her look and conducts herself, draws a reaction from the crowd, etc. Her antics can be charming at times, like being willing to challenger higher-up opponents. Saying she's not charismatic is simply inaccurate. The thing with Waka is that her role is clear: she is a lower card wrestler who is an underdog and almost always loses, but does things that draw attention to her here and there, and always tries. If you don't like that then fine, but she does her job and she does it well. Stardom's clearly telling a story with her and Mai, so it's not like she's directionless at all. She has gotten better in the ring, she does funny things here and there and it's clear that fans in attendance like her antics. She can speak English too, so she's an asset in that sense as well. She's not going to be anyone's favorite, but that doesn't mean people should make things up in order to try and discredit her just because they don't like her."
[5.0] "The Delightful Devil hasn't got much headway but she's more than willing to get beaten into a pulp (quite literally) to get ahead, she's charismatic and speaks surprisingly good English to boot. On the other side she's limited in the ring and her gimmick is incredibly cringey. Love the little devil tail sewn on the shorts and the horned heart on the kneepad though. Good comic relief/guilty pleasure wrestler."
