[6.0] "His look, his work, his EVERYTHING fits snugly into a description that fits seemingly thousands in this business over the decades: He had an ok look but it was generic. Fantastic body but not a very engaging fellow beyond such a compliment. Apt work but nothing that ever stood out on it's own. Moderately commendable in tag teams but lost otherwise. Heralded by a handful as underrated but aren't a vast amount of others that never seemed to reach full potential? EDIT: Ok, so after deeper diving he is better than my original review led on: While his skill set isn't dynamic per se, it *is* varied and he can adapt fairly well to nearly every opponent. Robert Conway also has VERY good timing, always being there at the right time. Very good working punch. All of this can only add to a score but he does indeed have a problem standing out. 6.25"

[4.0] "Nothing quite gives me "dead on arrival" vibes like Conway. Decent in La Resistance as a tag partner to the far more capable Dupree but outside of that, his weird egoistical gimmick afterwards was pretty bad and despite having some long runs with the NWA belt, I can't really point out a particular match worth recommending, especially considering the calibre of his opponents (well known main event talent like..... Chase Owens? ) and feuding with some out of prime NJPW old guys: considering even Satoshi Kojima couldn't carry this guy to a better than decent match, that should say a lot. Not terrible by any means but when you watch his work beyond the "2x NWA Champion for 200+ days" hype, you really don't get a lot to justify that."

[6.0] "Conway is perhaps most memorable for his role as the American turncoat member of La Resistance, and was probably the most overall polished member of that group in terms of his in-ring work. He was probably most held back from singles success in WWE by his look (which was not bad, but somewhat generic) and charisma (he had good natural charisma, but lacked in mic work). He was fine at the top level as a tag specialist, though, and since leaving WWE he's had a fair amount of independent success and has notably had two rather lengthy runs as NWA World Heavyweight Champion."

[8.0] "Poor Rob Conway gets way too bad of a rap. He was a great wrestler, especially as a heel, he can still deliver great performances, he just kind of got lost in the shuffle like Nick Dinsmore and The Bashams due to their somewhat generic looks. Conway at least was good on the microphone. He should have done better. Maybe in a different place or time. He was a decent enough choice for a modern era NWA champion."
BackLash wrote on 10.01.2016:
[8.0] "No one will say that Rob Conway is the best, most technical worker of all time, but he is so underrated because of his time in WWE. He had ups (tag team champion) and downs (the con man gimmick complete with Randy Newman-ish theme song) but ultimately nothing took. It's his time in National Wrestling Alliance that finally gave him opportunity and New Japan Pro Wrestling the exposure to show the world what he's capable of. He's a great patriot heel, his ring work is solid, and he's built like a truck in his 40s. Him winning the NWA World Heavyweight Championship and becoming a face of the company is one of the biggest examples of succeeding post WWE."

From the WWE, where he was arguably the best wrestler of the La Resistance stable before becoming a woefully misused jobber with an awesome theme to the NWA, holding the World Heavyweight and World Tag Championships (the first wrestler in history to hold both simultaneously), Rob's had one hell of a career. Seeing him as NWA World Champ in 2013 was a pleasant surprise, and it couldn't have happened to a more talented, deserving guy."

[9.0] "Never really thought to much of Rob Conway, but looking at what he's currently doing for the NWA and respectively the NWA World Heavyweight Title I have nothing but respect. A fair few of his matches in 2013 have been rather good, including the World Title match with Kahagas, which was one of the better matches of the year."
