I've always liked her but was skeptical, but she's had one of the best heel turns/championship runs in recent memory. Probably *the* person to watch this year out of any company and that's not an exaggeration. The New Ace of Stardom. |
| 09.08.2025 | Bigbag | 8.0 | I like Saya Kamitani a lot. She has this cool factor to her ever since she turned Heel. She is also a good Professional wrestler and a big star in Japan right now. One of the Best women's wrestlers in the world today. |

| 31.07.2025 | zackyb | 10.0 | Absolutely wrestler of the year male or female! In 2025 Kamitani proved why she is the best in the world - from EXCELLENT rivalry with Tam Nakano to ruling the joshi world. Saya was great when she was face, when she was Wonder Of STARDOM Champion but definitely her best work is now when she's a heel. Since joining HATE she's been on the run of her life - drawing the biggest audience in STARDOM history, constantly selling out shows and being the most entertaining act in the company. I really hope she will become the longest reigning World Of STARDOM Champion, her reign is fantastic and i wouldn't mind seeing Saya-Sama on top for a VERY long time! |
| 30.07.2025 | Bischoppu | 10.0 | Fantastic in every aspect. She's become the face of Stardom and pretty much the biggest thing in joshi. |
| 27.07.2025 | RobMentality | 8.0 | Saya Kamitani has gotta a lot better and cooler since the last time I watched her she has a very incredible look and presence also a Good Pro wrestler it still some things that I don't enjoy about her that she will eventually get better at, but she improve a lot since turning Heel |
| 25.07.2025 | GunAlpha | 9.0 | Wow, what a transformation Saya Kamitani has undergone in recent years. From promising talent to what can now comfortably be described as a semi-elite competitor, Kamitani has evolved into one of the most compelling figures in modern wrestling. Her in-ring ability has skyrocketed, showcasing a refined mix of agility, technical skill, and ring psychology. Kamitani's matches now feature a perfect balance of high-impact moves and nuanced storytelling, something few wrestlers manage to master at this stage in their career. Beyond the physical improvements, Kamitani's presence and charisma have also matured. She commands the audience's attention with ease, whether she's delivering promos or leading matches. This growth is reflected in how consistently she competes at a high level, often going toe-to-toe with top-tier talent and holding her own. A 9.0 rating is a fair reflection of her current status--no longer just a rising star but a genuine semi-elite performer who is edging ever closer to the true main event echelon. |
| 24.07.2025 | Dirt | 10.0 | From really fun but mostly bland babyface to the true top heel in Joshi wrestling. Not just Stardom, Saya is the best top heel in all of Japanese wrestling at the moment. The look, the presence, the psychology, the in-ring work, the character work, the moveset, etc. She isn't always perfect, she isn't Ospreay or Omega levels of flawless in ring, but when it all goes right for her in a match, there is very few better than her in the world. If I made this rating a year ago when her heel turn was still new, it wouldn't be a 10. If I made it even at the height of her face run, it would've been an 8 at best. Her heel turn has matured her in ring style and character work so rapidly that its hard to see her not keep ascending. Does she cry too often? Maybe. Does she overdo false finishes in big matches? Yeah, but that's the beauty of wrestling sometimes and it always serves a purpose. Her few flaws as a wrestler and performer are worked into her character work and long term in ring storytelling. Her current run with the Red Belt is the best world title run of this year. She has simply reached another level and she is willing to leave everything in that ring. Its hard to measure things like aura and style objectively, but when that opening line hits, 'Golden Phoenix is, DEAD" followed by the pause to the reveal... That is her. She is the main event, that is the final boss of Stardom. The fact she can get people invested into a story and character solely by how she comes to the ring is a mark of a truly exceptional character. And she has all the talent to back it up in ring. We are witnessing the start of an all-time great wrestling run. |
| 23.07.2025 | sn00p619 | 7.0 | She has a common issue with popular heels, in that she doesn't do anything for heat other than silly poses and taunts in her matches. She still works like a babyface, doesn't get heat with anyone not named Tam, and now that Tam is retired, her character has suffered for it. It might not be until Maika comes back that we get to see what she can do as an actual heel again. The in ring is fine now... better than it used to be when she was trying to do lucha spots while seriously injuring herself and her opponents. |

| 14.05.2025 | SkyIcons | 7.0 | Incredible look and presence, however I can almost never get into her matches, the structure is usually bad and repetitive. Her work as a heel is generic and sometimes just quite bad. The no-selling and kick-outs at one can only happen so many matches in a row before it loses the power it should have, and she abuses that spot. Ton of potential, but they have to unlock it. |

| 28.02.2025 | StardomJMD | 10.0 | "One of many STARDOM's super rookie & she deserves that title. She has less than a year of experience & she's already better than 3/4 of WWE Women's Roster. She has a good SSP, she's pretty good all-round. If we can give her time, she'll be one of STARDOM brightest stars in the upcoming years." I wrote this on 28.05.2020 and gave her an 8 out of 10. Fast forward 5 years later, she's a straight 10, no questions asked. She's simply one of the best in the world. While I admit after winning the Wonder of STARDOM title, she started getting stale as a character, her in-ring ability sky-rocked at that point. Her last few months as a Queen's Quest member were great, with compelling storylines, she really found herself in H.A.T.E. While a lot of people were trashing on this decision of disbanning both Oedo Tai & Queen's Quest, for creating H.A.T.E, with Saya being the catalyst, I thought it was going to be interesting to see Saya as a heel, because she's such a lovable person that pulling the trigger on a decision like this, is only hit or miss, just like with Starlight Kid years earlier. But now, she's even better, with a real character & reasons to play it. She's very comitted & so charismatic while playing it, it's amazing. As i'm writing these lines, we don't know the outcome of her Loser Leaves STARDOM Match, but after becoming a Triple Crown Winner in STARDOM, she's on the verge of doing the most heelish thing possible, retiring STARDOM's Top Babyface Tam Nakano, in a few days. She's really on the run of a lifetime, and we are really lucky to be a part of it. |

Some of her matches are some of the best I've ever seen: Saya vs Tam, Saya vs Hazuki, Saya vs Utami are all top 20 all time for me. She excels at telling stories in singular matches, and she's proven she can tell long-term stories with her program with Utami last year. Simply the best! (Update circa February 2025: HOLY SHIT SHES AN AWESOME HEEL AS WELL, and she's arguably doing the best character and in-ring work of her career right now. One of my favourites ever for sure! ) |

| 29.11.2024 | Target | 8.0 | 09.07.2021[4.0]: Unfortunately, Saya became a hostage to the style that was prepared for her. She does not do well with elements of acrobatics, and she was credited with a style similar to Io Shirai. She should, as it were, increase her hariography, her abilities, but unfortunately this does not suit her. I understand everyone is wrong, all wrestlers do botches, but Saya does it almost on a regular basis, which makes her some kind of botch machine. I think that with her it is possible to make a separate issue of Botchmania for its short edge. And sometimes she makes mistakes on basic things. Giant Baba: "Don't try to do 4 or 5 without completing basic 1, 2, 3. " This quote perfectly illustrates the problem of Saya, which, without having learned the basics, moved on to acrobatics. Compare flick flack Saya and Shirai. Absolutely different level. The problem is that Saya appeared in the ring quite recently, and they shove her very far and put very high hopes on her, but it seems to me that it? s time to understand that this is not so. She needs to learn, learn and learn again, or change her style. Oh yeah, I also don't like her attire, but that's my personal preference, lol. upd. 29.11.2024[8.0]: It's amazing how things work out. Saya began to change and started to change for the better with each passing month. Her new character is getting everyone's attention and I admit mine too. Social media, the numbers don't lie. There are a lot of likes, which shows that people are interested in her, which was not the case before. She's got charisma, which is no less important. It happens a lot when pro wrestlers change their role, especially to a negative one. Here, Saya is not completely villainous, but she is not a heroine either. That's clearly one of her strengths, she's not a heel. The important part was that she changed her mooveset. It's related to her injuries. I've always written that Saya shouldn't be a high flyer, because she does everything on the limit, performs techniques in such a way that it's not enough to get seriously injured. This forced her to change her finisher, and clearly went in her favor. She started to look more confident, and more legitimate in my eyes. I wish her continued development because if things go the way they are now, she has the potential to be one of the best! |
| 30.10.2024 | Thenwoagedbadly | 8.0 | As much as Saya can have great matches when she's with great opponents and takes care in her work, anyone who is currently giving Saya a 10 is genuinely deranged (and one supposes this is proved by the sheer deluded idiocy of the associated comments). The truth is she botches incredibly frequently and as of 29.12.23 is still continuing to do it and is still continuing to do it very noticeably. Also, she has incredibly poor facial expressions (as a babyface) that do not resemble the faces real people pull at any time ever, no genuine presence, cuts 20 awful promos for every 1 she nails and is massively protected by Stardom's booking. She simply cannot be voted a perfect 10. It's that obvious. One wonders what the people giving Saya 10s, and 9s for that matter, would give her if a) she looked like Tsubasa Kuragaki and b) they had girlfriends. She has started to come into her own as a heel though and, somehow, has managed to do a 180 on facial expressions because as a heel she does absolutely nail them. |
