A living legend that has had great matches in basically every decade since debuting, and had perhaps one of the greatest lucha rivalries ever against El Hijo del Santo (one I highly reccommend watching) culminating in that great Aniversario hair vs mask match.

Very charismatic and just an all around great worker in my opinion he isnt just one of the greatest Mexican wrestlers ever but one of the greatest wrestlers of all time in general.

Dann ist er vom Wrestling definitiv nicht einer der besten siehe Matchguide, Charisma hat er aber auch nicht so viel und sonst mit seinem Gimmick oder ähnliches hat er jetzt auch nie komplett überzeugt. Es ist aber beeindruckend in welcher Form er auch noch heute ist.

Even when he doesn't, there is nothing bad about his in ring ability at this point. He could work a great match with nearly anyone he stepped into the ring with and that hasn't ever really stopped no matter how old he's gotten. Nearly every single legendary luchador since the 80s has had either an iconic feud or 5 star match with Negro Casas for a reason.

The longevity, the unparalleled skill, the legendary rivalries with the likes of El Hijo del Santo and Mistico, the great matches in Mexico and Japan, the ability, to this very day, told hold the crowd of Arena Mexico and have them eating out of the palm of his hand; whatever it is, Negro Casas was a masterclass at it. If he had been a few inches taller and wrestled in the United States he would be widely considered one of the five greatest wrestlers of all time by my estimation. As such he is still one of the five greatest wrestlers of all time. The day Negro Casas retires will be the saddest day lucha libre has seen in a long time.

His 1997 hair vs mask match with El Hijo Del Santo is a masterclass in high drama. They work it more like it's All Japan than CMLL, loads of stiff striking, very little flash. The importance and heated grudge was sold to the nth degree and he's still fantastic now eighteen years later and he was fantastic for many years before that. It's a tragedy we don't have access to more of his 80s work. One of the greats.
