While she felt limited while in Stardom, especially toward the end, she has blossomed into one of most exciting freelancers to watch anywhere in the world She's unbelievably charismatic, creative, interesting, and fun to watch, and I feel like she would be an incredible asset if she were to ever sign with a promotion full time."

I think that's really cool. She's a fantastic wrestler, definitely one of the most unique wrestlers out there with a very recognizable look. In-ring, she's very solid and I really enjoy watching her. To me, she's joshi wrestling's Matt Cardona in that she made a name for herself that's arguably bigger NOW than she would with a major promotion. I really admire it."

She has an endearing never-back-down quality to her, and the amount of promotions currently working with her speaks to her star power and ability to connect with a variety of crowds. Nothing but kudos for the Eel"

Not to mention, she is incredibly funny and has this great wholesome energy about her. She just had her best singles match ever vs Saya for the belt where you could see how much she has improved since she signed with Stardom. Hopefully she keeps improving."

She is consistently good in the ring now, and hasn't had a bad match in several months. She has found her groove in the ring, on the mic, in her character, everywhere. The lower ratings she had made some sense a year ago but now, they have no merit. I don't know if I'd put Unagi in my top 10 favorite people in Stardom, but I do think she deserves a lot of credit for breaking out the way that she has."

She was incredibly nervous in her first few Stardom matches and looked pretty out of place to be honest but she has become one of their most (overly) confident wrestlers. She pretty much had 3 moves in TJPW but the improvement she has shown inside a single year in Stardom has been massive. She also has one of the most amazing gimmicks and looks in wrestling today. Her new finisher is amazing and she also has the best leg drop in wrestling history!"

[6.0] "Unagi after a good while of seeming like she had already reached a fairly low ceiling in her ability is now really starting to step up the pace and improve at a remarkable rate. She now wrestles alongside total pros and looks like she belongs there. She now has a move set and it's one that feels distinctive. Her ring awareness and timing are hugely improved, and her selling is now one of the best things she does. Her style and character still aren't my favourite but she is undeniably a presence and there's plenty of room to grow. This makes her still one of the worst workers in Stardom but that's still a high bar to meet and she's doing it after only 2.5 years."

[7.0] "Given her age compared to her wrestling ability, most would say she was mediocre at best. But she is only two years into her career, and there are plenty of great wrestlers like DDP or Batista to an extent that have had later starts in the business. I feel that people also give her shit for her past history as a gravure model, which is stupid. She is capable of having really good matches with the right opponent, but she's still a bit too green to have a good match with just any opponent. She obviously putting in the work to get better and it ha shown in her most recent work. Here's hoping she gets even better by this time next year."

Here we have a classic example of an awful performer that fans are lapping up unquestioningly thanks to clever booking. Bad in the ring and bad outside of it with her "You will like me or else" attitude, Unagi Sayaka is the modern equivalent of Sandman, Balls Mahoney and other terrible ECW wrestlers that clever booking turned into icons, with the difference Unagi already has a rocket strapped to her that will unfortunately take her very far."

[8.0] "She brings a tonne of personality and energy to the squared circle. At first when she joined Stardom she definitely had to improve in ring and she has done so really well. She has put on some terrific singles matches and her selling is really well done. She has a nice repertoire of moves with the crazy splash, a beauty of a spinebuster, Axe Kicks, the absolute best Legdrop in wrestling just to name a few. She has a bright future and 2022 is gonna be great for her."

[6.0] "What a lot of people fail to understand is that wrestling isn't only about having the best ring skills. Stardom (Bushiroad) will do everything they can to appeal to more fans and make more money. Unagi has the looks and the charisma, plus quite a improvment ringwise. It's pretty obvious that her and Mina Shirakawa, both members of the Cosmic Angels are eyecandies and their looks is what makes them standout. BUT let's not forget that the japanese training system is far superior than any other wrestling in the world. Because of that you can see that she already improved a lot. It's not that she isn't a good wrestler, it's just that she's nowhere near the level of Stardom biggest draws. If she went to WWE or any american company she'd do good because even not being the best worker for the joshi standards, she'd wrestle circles around many women there. She will get better, it's just a matter of time."

[6.0] "Unagi is a great new addition to the Stardom roster & certainly helps round out Tam's new faction. She is clearly green, but in the few months she's been with Stardom, it's clear that she is progressing with leaps & bounds in a short amount of time. Prior to joining Stardom, Unagi cut her teeth in TJPW; a company that prioritizes in ring competency very low on the totem pole. Unagi has a big singles match against Saya Kamitani soon & I am looking forward to that outing. I expect in the coming years Unagi will continue to improve & you have to give her credit with how she has jumped into the fire of the intense Stardom system. But for now, to rate her any higher than slightly above average would be unfair."
