[8.0] "If Jim Cornette had been a wrestler instead of a manager, he would have been Rito Romero. Just like the Louisville Slugger, Rito Romero was an enormous talent when active and he was also one of the first luchadores to become a major star in the US, spending a lot of time in the US, especially Texas and SoCal. An amazing submission and mat wrestler, he's credited with introducing La Tapatia (Romero Special) during a match in the Arena Coliseo. Romero retired after suffering a serious injury in a match with Dick Beyer and became a media personality, giving regular interviews about pro-wrestling in the media. And exactly like Jim Cornette, while an excellent talker Romero was living in the past every single minute: kinda like Cornette spends his time badmouthing hardcore wrestlers and people like Kenny Omega, Rito Romero spent his time lamenting how pro-wrestling was dead and buried already in 1970. Some things never change."
