[6.0] "I first saw Hercules at Wrestlemania 2 as a kid. In viewing stuff later, I first see him chronologically in World Class where he dismantled The Midnight Express and Rip Oliver in about 30 seconds after being brought in by Sunshine to get Jim Cornette. But I mostly remember him being managed by Bobby Heenan in the WWF and feuding with Billy Jack Haynes over the full nelson. Later, he was sold as a "slave" to Ted Dibiase, an angle which wouldn't work today, though Hercules rightfully refused to go along with it. He had a decent run as a face, feuding with Dibiase, but eventually formed a tag team with Paul Roma known as Power & Glory. They were a fun team, but didn't last very long. He then showed up in WCW as The Super Invader, which did nothing for his career before fading into obscurity. Good big man, but not many great matches."

He had is mouments but moatly suck around to long and spent the latter half of his time in the WWF just being a warm body. Not the worst riped man they ever had in the company but far from the best"

[3.0] "Hercules had a knack for slowing matches down to a grinding halt, pulling out 5 minute long locks and submission manoeuvres that don't go anywhere. Also had little charisma, and his promos were sub-Warrior level, nonsensical without the coked up energy."

[5.0] "A power wrestler, but Hercules was pretty damn quick for a guy juiced to the gills like himself and was a decent worker up until about 1990. Once Power And Glory broke up in late 91, he started getting that roid gut on him and he walked like his legs didn't bend anymore. The years of steroid abuse were taking a toll I think and he definitely worked better with a manager. He had a good long run in the WWF but only ever got a handful of title chances and spent the rest of his time feuding with mid card heels and faces. Still like him for his early stuff. Dude always had one of the best jumping elbow drops. Watch Hercules evolution from 1984 to 1992 and you have a clear visual study of the hard life of steroids, drugs, and personal issues that all pro wrestlers should strive to avoid. It doesn't end well."

[9.0] "I always had a soft spot for Herc despite his plethora of shortcomings (sometimes seemed lost, was known to have off nights/weeks/months). Remarkable body (until the bloating took over), deceptively fast/explosive and one of the unsung heroes of the mid to late 80's. The only combination of The Assassins I am old enough to remember is his time under the hood, he did great! He was certainly watchable, capable and believable when in Mid South and he made a perfect pairing with Jim Cornette. I liked his WCCW run as brief as it was (marked like BONKERS for him here). The WWF however brought upon both feast and famine for Hercules' in ring career. He played manager ping pong for a bit which almost derailed his career in New York early, but by the time the national expansion was in full swing he was under Heenan's wing and had a high profile WrestleMania 3 match/feud with Billy Jack Haynes, in general his 1987 was quite strong... However, aside from a surprise WrestleMania 5 victory against King Haku, things were rough for a long time with more losses than wins as both a face & a heel and being cast as essentially "just another body" for far too long (this is also where his body started to bloat due to PED's). The pairing with Paul Roma as "Power & Glory" almost effectively resurrected his career - but Vince didn't create the team or gimmick, so it never truly launched. Back to being just another body UNTIL his last televised match with the company where he took a Sid powerbomb, with his hands behind his neck as if relaxing in a hammock - he promptly no sold it after the pin count and walked away like a boss LOL! His WCW tenure brought upon wrestling's most lousiest hood but some good looking hard hitting matches on WCW Saturday Night as the regrettable "Masked Invader, from Singapore" gimmick (guilty pleasure, the outfit was awful but his work was underrated here). Also of note, I thought he had some great looking elbow drops and intense facial expressions. 8.5 rounded up, rest in peace big man."

Hercules was around smack dab in the steroid era when everyone in the company looked like they were built of muscles. I didn't think his matches were too bad, but he just never connected to fans the same way Hogan, Warrior, Macho, or Rude did."
